We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We are conveniently located on Route 4 so campers should expect some noise, however the road quiets down around at night and -- except for the occasional loud vehicle -- it gets pretty serene here during the star gazing hours! The tent camping area is fenced and we have not had any bears on the property, but we do have a few shy farm cats and the occasional racoon. For this reason, we ask all campers to be mindful about storing food and disposing of trash in the provided bins. The ranch is comprised of the camping lawns, camping facilities, several homes on the property (two Air BnB and the owner's home) and the motorcycle workshop. Car and RV campers are welcomed and there is plenty of car/RV parking on the asphalt lot outside the fence at the East Side of the property near the mailboxes at the intersection of Rte 4 and Brice Station Road.

2 nights at Love Creek Sanctuary!

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

We had a great one night stay at RockNWater Cove Camping! We stayed in Curley w/ an RV but definitely want to return to camp at one of the tent spots. The hosts, Kris and her husband, were super nice and answered lots of questions we had. The river access is really pretty w/ a nice beach area. Plusses are flush toilets, showers, propane fire pits with propane provided, potable water and electric hook ups. Looking forward to going back next summer!

What I loved about the Farm View site was an electric hook up and the use of a clean bathroom and shower. Please note this is a farming community with chickens (roosters) and dogs in the neighborhood. That is the noise that is around. There are other people on the property at other sites. Kat is super accommodating and nice. I have stayed here twice and hope to be back.

Placerville camping options include RV parks near town, plus more than 50 campsites in the Eldorado National Forest. For river rafting and camping, head to the American River and Coloma, where gold was first discovered in California, or try the Sly Park Recreation Area, a hub for family fishing and water recreation thanks to group campsites.
