A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries. We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River. Directions were excellent and contact/communication were great. The spot is clearly marked and conveniently had water, power and a trash bin for use. I had an issue with the power/extension cord initially. Let the host know and I believe it was fixed later at night. It wasn’t a huge issue as my solar battery had enough power for making coffee and using microwave in the morning. My heater worked off regular battery. The location is convenient to get to downtown, which I did. It was all lit up for the Plaza lighting that evening. So fun!

Bill’s land was one of the best hip camps I have ever stayed at! The Indonesian bedroom was so serene and I slept like a baby with the heated bed. The bathroom was so beautifully decorated with ornate paintings, little treasures, and the stained glass window was intricately stunning. The hot tub was a bonus and it was extremely close to the town of Petaluma and hiking trails. You definitely should stay here for a romantic getaway!

Loved camping in the redwood groves! We had a large group and the hosts were super accommodating to help us get the right setup for our party. A couple of things to note: 1 - the redwood grove campsites ABSOLUTELY require a 4WD or AWD. there is a very bumping/steep road that descends down into the meadow. 2 - the creekside campsites are essentially just parking areas for an RV. we were so lucky that the creek was low so we were able to cross by foot and enjoy the rest of the property on the other side. 3 - don't skip the redwood walking trails on the property!! super beautiful and green area. lots of banana slugs and newts to spot. bonus activity: spot the laurel bay leaf trees! 4 - there is a LOT of poison ivy around the creekside camping sites. make sure your party knows what it looks like, bring cortisone as backup, and do your best to avoid brushing against the edge of the campsite! (worst case, soap and water will help)

Weekend Trip to The Meadow Grove of Hands Full Farm

Site 4 of the Meadow Grove is the best site in terms of location, view and privacy. It's up and over a knoll and backs up against a bigger hill. The new picnic table is great and there is a little tree to pitch tents under. Green, lush grass abounds. The site did get some traffic noise from the main road further away on a Saturday night but otherwise was a very nice experience.

We had a great time camping here and interacting with the farm animals. Lots of room to set up our tent and park at the site, and they supplied a picnic table and fire cage. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the trains go by and the roosters crowing (may be too loud for some). Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Weekend Trip to Salmon Creek Ranch

I had a great time camping at Creekside Camp #1. We had a tent and a rooftop tent set-up. The site is right next to the entrance / gate and next to the round, which made it easily accessible and non-4WD or AWD friendly. The road is relatively quiet with minimal cars driving through. The site is next to site #2, but appreciate that there were trees separating the two sites. You do have to walk through campsite #2 to go get to the toilet. The creek had minimal water and there was a designated crossing area that was marked with signs. We enjoyed walking through all the trails in the property with our dog. The mercantile had a lot selection and the meat quality is very good.
