Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet in off season and Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well. Coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer are provided. The cabin has a small woodstove as its only heat source. A little wood can be provided, and we provide newspaper, matches, and fire starters. There is an abundance of kindling around the property - great for getting a fire going. The stove holds 18" x 4" split logs, if you have some to bring. There are two smaller stuffed chairs, and two bar stools at a counter/bar with views of the creek. The bathroom has a shower and vanity sink, and towels and toiletries are provided. There is hot and cold running water, although the 3-gallon hot water heater limits showers to less than 5 minutes. Nice sturdy steps lead up to the loft upstairs which has an 8" full-sized (wider than a twin but narrower than a queen) memory foam mattress with fresh linens. The loft is low and cozy which allows the camper to sit up on the bed but not stand up. A compost toilet is about 100 yards away, and has a rechargeable motion detector indoor light. Bring your flashlights to find the compost toilet as well as the hot tub as the property is very dark. WiFi is available. The password is listed in the binder on the table. Some games and puzzles are provided.

Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite. The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here! The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). You will appreciate the peace and quiet of this little cabin on Rock Creek, situated on 11 acres of forest in Williams Oregon. The only sounds you'll hear are the birds in the trees and the flowing creek water. Enjoy sitting on the deck overlooking the confluence of Rock Creek and East Fork Williams Creek. A bridge crosses Rock Creek and there is a hiking trail beyond. Our garden hot tub is a welcome place to soak and enjoy the stars at night. Its an older tub but still keeps the water at 102 degrees. Our cabin has a kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, 2-burner gas stovetop, microwave, teapot, crockpot, toaster, and 2-cup coffee maker, plus a few dishes, cutlery, and pots and pans - enough for simple meal preparation. Coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer are provided. The cabin has a small woodstove as its only heat source. A little wood can be provided, and we provide newspaper, matches, and fire starters. There is an abundance of kindling around the property - great for getting a fire going. The stove holds 18" x 4" split logs, if you have some to bring. There are two smaller stuffed chairs, and two bar stools at a counter/bar with views of the creek. The bathroom has a shower and vanity sink, and towels and toiletries are provided. There is hot and cold running water, although the 3-gallon hot water heater limits showers to less than 5 minutes. Nice sturdy steps lead up to the loft upstairs which has an 8" full-sized (wider than a twin but narrower than a queen) memory foam mattress with fresh linens. The loft is low and cozy which allows the camper to sit up on the bed but not stand up. A compost toilet is about 100 yards away, and has a rechargeable motion detector indoor light. Bring your flashlights to find the compost toilet as well as the hot tub as the property is very dark. WiFi is available. The password is listed in the binder on the table. Some games and puzzles are provided.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Jacob's Riverside Gem! It's rustic enough to feel adventurous and homey enough to feel warm and comfy in the winter. It's obvious that Jacob has put a lot of heart and soul into this little cabin because of all the artistic touches you will find throughout. The firewood was well stocked, the property was beautiful with many fresh fungi to observe, and the little kitchen was perfect for making delicious meals. The fridge is quite small with no freezer, so if you want to bring fresh food for cooking, I recommend bringing a cooler. The shower is not far from the cabin, so it's easy to get a hot shower in and run back inside to the warm cabin. Make sure to bring your own bath towel. The bathroom is farther from the cabin, but I enjoyed the walk there, especially at night when I could look at the stars. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space very much, seeing as we visited in winter, but we definitely want to come back in the summer to enjoy all that this little cabin and the Smith River area has to offer. If you're looking for a quaint place to stay while adventuring in the area, you've found the right place!

Weekend Trip to The Swimming Hole On Red Cap Creek

We ended up being the only campers on an early November day, so Wayne graciously let us choose whichever site we liked. We pitched our tent right by the communal fire pit and picnic tables instead of a designated site. The ground was easy to drive stakes into, and Wayne even offered more substantial stakes in case they were needed. His sweet dog (Cowboy) and horse (Coco) paid some very welcome visits. They're sneaky for treats, so watch your back! ;) A hose is nearby that supplies filtered fresh spring water, and the toilet room is very convenient. The hot showers were down due to some construction, but we enjoyed our stay a lot! We would recommend this place as a nice getaway, or as a stop on your way to the redwoods or Eureka (we did both).

I absolutely love this Hipcamp! It's so private (you have your own driveway and gate) and feels very safe. Surrounded by trees and farmland. Lots of cute little amenities to enjoy while there. The ground is level enough that you can just pull right in and set up. The host is very kind and responsive. Also, I think there's an owl that lives here, and he was a joy to listen to. Highly recommend.

Stayed in one of the A-frames with my two small dogs for a weekend and had a lovely time. It was a stormy, rainy couple of days in October, so I didn’t get to explore the property or surrounding area much, but that ended up being perfect since I had just come to relax anyway. Once I got set up inside (with some string lights, a hot water bottle, and a good book), it felt nice and cozy. I was glad to have brought the hot water bottle and a couple of extra blankets, b/c the temps inside were roughly the same as they were outside. The transparent panels make it feel like you’re sleeping among the trees, and the sound of rain on the roof was wonderful. The roof is corrugated steel, so the first time an acorn pinged off it I just about jumped out of my skin, but we got used to it quickly. Ultimately I think those noises were part of the charm. Saw some beautiful deer and lots of wild turkeys. As a woman camping solo, I felt very safe. The property isn’t completely remote (it’s tucked next to a neighborhood and there’s a private residence onsite) but it still has a peaceful, wilderness feel, especially in late October when there were fewer visitors. For anyone curious (since I couldn’t find this info beforehand), each A-frame has its own fire ring and picnic table. Thank you for the great weekend!

I love this place. I’ll stay here any chance I get. It’s lovely. Spacious camp sites. Hot tea and coffee area. The river. The outdoor showers. And the A frames are so cool! But I recommend arriving in the daylight if it’s your first time. I came after dark and I’m pretty sure I would have been lost if I didn’t already know my way around. It’s not well lit at night. Makes for good sleep— but def bring a head lamp.

Cedar bloom is great! This was my second time staying there and first in the dome. It was cold and having a fireplace was amazing. The community kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes and cookware needed to cook a meal. The bed was comfy, the hosts were very nice and the sauna/shower's worked great. No complaints, I’ll hopefully be back next summer.

We had a fantastic time! We went in October and the weather was cold and rainy. However, everything was so comfy and cozy. The blankets they provide for the A-frame cabins were more than enough to keep us warm all night. The amenities are great: full on kitchen with all you need to make meals, the tea house was well stocked, the bathrooms did not smell and were fairly clean, the showers had hot water, the sauna was amazing. We really want to come back during the summer and enjoy the river and sleeping with the A-frame open. A wonderful and stellar experience.
