Our 44 acres include a remarkable variety of natural landscapes, each with its own character:

From the elevated Canadian Shield rock and the meadow below, guests can enjoy an unusual combination of rugged Northern Ontario wilderness and peaceful ranch scenery\. The open fields, distant horses and changing evening light create an atmosphere reminiscent of the European countryside\.
W\-Ranch is privately owned neighbouring property and is not part of the campsite\. Guests are asked to respect the property boundary and enjoy the ranch views from our land\.
Beyond our property boundary are approximately 200 acres of adjoining Crown land, offering additional opportunities for hiking and backcountry exploration\. Guests are responsible for following all applicable Crown land regulations and respecting the natural environment\.
## The Lake
A secluded 10\-acre inland lake lies beside the property and is especially beautiful during the spring and fall\. There is no public road or public boat launch directly on the lake, so the setting is normally quiet and undisturbed\.
Lake conditions change naturally with the seasons\. During the warmest part of summer—most commonly in July and August—floating aquatic vegetation and duckweed may accumulate along the shoreline closest to the campsite\. When this occurs, the immediate campsite shoreline is not suitable for swimming or launching a boat\.
Clearer, more open water can generally be found approximately 150 metres farther along the shoreline\. Guests whose main priority is swimming, paddling or boating should plan to use nearby Killbear Provincial Park or Georgian Bay, where excellent public water\-access options are available\.
A 12\-foot aluminum boat with a four\-stroke motor may be available to rent when lake conditions permit\. The rental fee is $60 per day, including fuel\. Please confirm availability and lake conditions before booking the boat\.

This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Campers can walk down to the river and maybe see a beaver hard at work. Campers will not be allowed to walk to the farm as insurance won't allow us to host campers when we do. Please do not drive around the building or pitch a tent on our septic field. There is a black mailbox by the front doors where we will put a welcome package for you. This has a map and websites of hiking trails and other businesses in the area . There is a lake about 12 min drive from us with a nice beach. We will provide a pick nick table, unless other campers are using it. A short walk from us is a small Catholic country church, and you can walk to the Slate River Bridge on Hwy 608 and on Hwy 61.

There are marked walking trails on the property and at nearby conservation areas. Plenty to do on the grounds and within a 30 min drive, including sightseeing Prince Edward County, or checking out historic Kingston and Belleville. We had such a great time! This was our first camping experience as a family, and Chris’s land was exactly what we needed. Having the water right there made it extra special, the kids loved kayaking, playing in the water, and of course the trampoline was a huge hit. It was peaceful, beautiful, and had plenty for the kids to do, which made it perfect for our group. Such a fun and memorable first camping trip. We’d definitely come back!

Renee and Randy have an absolutely beautiful property.
A short drive to your cabin and complete peace and quiet apart from nature.
We had everything that we could have possibly needed from fishing to games, all the amenities needed for our stay.. we packed light cooler, clothes, and fishing gear, everything else was already provided.
The cabin, outhouse were extremely clean, very private even if you wanted to stroll back to your cabin after using the amazing gravity fed outdoor shower which is unique in its design. Everything the hosts provided were appreciated, thoughtful, and made the entire stay effortless.
We had a short visit with randy during our stay who is a wonderful person and makes the stay that much better when you gain the knowledge of amount of work put in by the host on their land.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods
Natalie's land is beautiful - from the nature, the access to water, the animal sightseeing... We loved the land upon arrival. Natalie is sweet, kind and truly has put so much effort into making this place feel like home, especially for our dog. We didn't want to leave! The Bunkie had everything we needed, thoughtfully decorated, and what a gorgeous view from the deck - we even had a private fire pit at back. The outhouse was clean and well maintained. We will for sure be coming back!

Another lovely stay - this is an annual retreat for me now. Having stayed at both the Boot Hill and Field of Dreams sites, I can say they're both very well-appointed. This year we really appreciated the fireplace-style campfire grill, as it allowed us to enjoy our fire in the rain. Exploring the falls and river were the highlight of our stay. Our host even brought us some freshly-picked tomatoes! It was just the relaxing weekend we needed. See you next year, Field of Dreams :)

3 nights at Backwoods Cabins
This cabin greatly exceeded our expectations, the indoor space is perfectly decorated and the bed so comfortable you dont want to leave! The kitchen has all the basic essentials plus a bbq for cooking.
The surrounding property is so peaceful and the privacy cannot be understated. There is not a single other person or structure for acres. We were blown away by the sheer size and remote feeling of the lake - it felt like backcountry with all the anemities of a cottage.
The stars on a clear night are breathtaking, but make sure to bring a flashlight and be aware of your steps because on a moonless night it gets DARK.
The outhouse is what it is, an outhouse on a popular rental property, no complaints.
We saw herons, fish, and so many small frogs/toads! Plus a pesky red squirrel that did not appreciate us shooing it from the snack bag (so cute yet so spicy)
I could write a novel about this spot but its best to experience it yourself.

Really quiet, green and clean land to come and check out! Night skies were beautiful and the horses were pretty awesome! Clean showers, clean outhouses and very accommodating rooms for the glamping option. I love how outdoor mesh tents were provided alongside some seats, makes hangouts much better without bugs eating us. Location is perfect, and there’s plenty of lakes and ponds nearby to fish and swim. Thank you to Penny for having us! We will be back again

We very much enjoyed our time at the cabin. It is very well laid out, and even though it is off the grid, so to speak, there is a generator (which is rather finicky and took us multiple attempts to start).
The cabin is quite secluded and has no direct water access, but it is only 10 minutes away from Silent Lake, which is a beautiful Provincial park with a lovely beach.
The outhouse is old school and rustic. The fire pit was one of our favourite spots. We brought our own wood, as the wood supplied was pricey.
Overall it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. We recommend.

Amazing experience! The space was super spacious and the water for showers were warm. Showers were very easy to use. The lake was not too far from the campsite and it was super calming to hear the waves when sleeping in the tent at night. Definitely recommend and will come again !!

Un vrai petit bout de paradis pour les amateurs de nature! La vue du site était incroyable. Il y a plusieurs hérons qui vivent sur la rivière et qui pêchent devant toi. Il y a des belles petites chutes pour se baigner. J’ai apporté mon kayak et vraiment apprécié la quiétude et l’aspect complètement naturel du coin. Gerry est vraiment sympathique et un host hors paire! Il m’a aidé avec mon kayak à le descendre et remonté de la rivière. Il s’assurait que j’avais assez de bois et que je ne manquais de rien. J’ai essayé la bûche pour faire cuire mes repas, c’était vraiment une expérience le fun et hors de l’ordinaire. Gerry a pris le temps de me montrer comment faire et est revenu le soir pour m’aider à l’allumer, comme si son sixième sens lui a dit que ça marchait pas mon truc haha! Je vais définitivement retourner l’an prochain!

My fiancée and I loved camping at BedRock. Gerry gave us a very warm welcome and even gave us a tour on his ATV for us to choose amongst ~8 beautiful sites. Superb host, beautiful stay, great trail, fun canoeing. Couldn't ask for more. We can't wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay there! Gerry is such a gem - funny, genuine, and incredibly caring. You can tell how much he cares about nature, the land, and the people who visit. His love and excitement for life are truly contagious.
He came to pick us up and gave us a little tour of the property so we could choose the best camping spot. He also recommended a few places for us to explore, which we really appreciated. On top of that, he kindly allowed us to stay past check-out time, so we didn’t have to feel rushed while packing everything up.
The property is beautiful, the setting is peaceful, and the host is absolutely amazing. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back!
