Paradise Valley Homestead

11 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents33 acres ¡ West Milford, NJ
GREAT NEWS!!! Starting April 5th, my long awaited 1st Glamping site will be available for booking! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. We have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

TJ’s Beautiful Forest

1 site ¡ RV, Tent2 acres ¡ Wharton, NJ
When water levels are high there is a small creek that runs through the middle of the property. The property has a central clearing that’s perfect for RV parking, tent set up, as well as a fire pit with firewood that is supplied on the property for purchase! It is seasoned for at least two years and protected from the elements, so it is very dry. The location is super low-key at the end of a private street. Minutes from some of the state's larger lakes, such as Lake Hopatcong, and Mt. Hope Pond. Easy access, minutes away from the state's major highways. There are well known nearby ponds, where one can swim and enjoy these different Lake beaches. There are also a ton of great food spots in the immediate area, and a big shopping mall in Rockaway. There are several grass areas that are well maintained for tent setup or other recreational activities. Fishing is excellent in this area as well, with a ton of local spots. The property has a table and chairs for eating and relaxation. Wildlife sightings are abundant, an amazing opportunity for nature lovers. This is a double lot, one site with a new home being built, the other designated as a campground and nature preserve. I allow access to indoor garage area in case of bad weather.

The best camping near Hamilton Grange National Memorial guide

Overview

About

Alexander Hamilton's life was about more than just his famous duel with Aaron Burr. It was about helping to forge a nation. His memorial (also the home he died in) is in upper Manhattan, New York, at the north end of St. Nicholas Park. Not only does the early 18th-century estate contain details on the life of this great man, but it's also a historical place with Federal style architecture.

After exploring the memorial, take a leisurely walk around 23-acre St. Nicholas Park. While there, visit nearby museums and historic sites such as Strivers' Row, Tree of Hope, and the Freedom Journey Foundation Museum. Plus, it's less than two miles from Central Park.

There's no camping in the immediate vicinity of Hamilton Grange. Head to Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn or Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island for a place to stay the night. Hipcamp can help you find the perfect spot to hang your hat.

While you can come any time of the year and have a great time in New York City, opt for the spring, summer, or fall for the most nature has to offer. Winter can be cold and snowy.
