Riverside King Valley is set on 16 acres on the banks of the King river featuring 10 spacious campsite spread along the property. Just a half an hour drive from Wangaratta, 45 minutes from Benalla and an hour from Mansfield. Each site offers something a little different whether it is a spacious site for a large group or party or a smaller site for a family weekend away.
Our site is accessible for all vehicle types and is dog-friendly as long as pets are well-controlled. Campfires are allowed when restrictions aren’t in place, and firewood and kindling is available for purchase (see Extras).
Please keep in mind that the property is a working farm and there will be cars and machinery onsite nearby to some of the sites. Each powered site has only 1 power supply. Generators can be used but must be used with others in mind.

There are separate campsites available. Rodborough Vale is 600 acres with a combination of creek flats, native bushland and rocky volcanic outcrops. A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more.
Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience.
Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes.
Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's.
Amplified music is not allowed.
Local attractions are the historic towns of Maldon, Clunes, Avoca and Dunolly all part of the Central Goldfields. Pyrenees Wine region is a short drive away.

Any guest who would like to book a site to arrive before Christmas Day and depart after Boxing Day please message us via Hip Camp and we can make the site available for your booking.
Guests MUST be fully self-contained and bring their own camping toilet. (No holes in the ground) you will need to have a suitable camp toilet where you are able to take your waste with you on departure.
There is a Dump Point available in Rawson.
Site Toilets can be hired thru Moe Hire (03 5127 7114), they will deliver & pick up from your site.
A fire pit is provided free for the duration of your stay to each camp group.

The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace.
Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far.
Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space.
All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck.
All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site.
In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues.
We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a
short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them.
Amazing, abundant
and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct.

Far End:
As the name suggests, Far End sits right at the very end of our property and offers the utmost peace and privacy. This flat, shaded campsite is just 10–20 metres from the river and surrounded by trees, making it a favourite among returning guests.

She is very friendly, loves kids, but she's a big meat head who is still learning.

The Whip Stick Forest campsite is located on the outskirts of Bendigo. This is an ideal place to take a break away from it all. Peace and tranquility surrounded by nature. We are just far enough away from the town to offer the outdoors feel and close enough to town to enjoy sightseeing, and many outdoor activities and access to shops, fuel and most of the usual shopping needs.
Here you will find a nice open space amongst the gum trees with drinking water, toilet, and outdoor shower.

Relax under the stars with a warm fire in a secluded spot in the middle of open space and the fresh air.
The property is fenced off, so you can feel safe and secure. You can relax and let the kids can run around knowing they are safe inside the camp ground.

Lily the Rotwieller is only 12 months old and very playful.
She has a thing for shoes, so please make sure they are always hidden away.
Along with anything else you don't want a naughty puppy to make a meal of.
If you don't like dogs you probably shouldn't stay here as my dogs love people.
Only minutes from town where you will find supplies, close to the local swimming pool and 10 minutes from a popular watering hole.

Enjoy camping on our property which we are slowly restoring (the tent site is located in our paddock on undulating grassed areas) with views of the Grampians.
We have 80 acres 77 of which are currently used by the local wildlife and three we are beginning to garden in between renovating. Although the views are spectacular it does get rather dry in late Summer/Autumn with fire risks. In late Winter/Spring the access to the site can be very wet with the gravel road becoming rutted and the site quite soft. We will advise when you need to be careful of soft ground or campfire bans.
Our property is situated close to the Grampians National Park and provides a peaceful and secluded base to explore this amazing part of Western Victoria.
A simple toilet is provided, running tap water (no sink yet so please bring a collapsible one) and a small simple shelter with a table.
Please be aware, it can get quite windy at our place from time to time!

The stars are easily seen on a clear night with sounds of nature easily heard in the early hours of the morning. Nathan is a great host, passionate about his land. What a magical place. I stayed at site 2, which was very private and nicely protected. I didn't see anyone but Michael (the host) all weekend. Just the sounds of bird life and running water - it was pure serenity. Michael was an excellent host, providing good instructions and coming to say hello once I got settled. Highly recommend! I will be back.

I camped on the Creek Flat - it was a beautiful spot with plenty of room for all types of caravans. Extremely quiet, with the other sites being a few 100m away.
Host popped down to say hello and was happy for us to take a wander around the property.
Highly recommend if you want a spot by the creek gums, lots of green grass & a friendly flock of sheep

This was an absolutely great spot! I originally booked another site but mark changed it as the one I booked was too wet. Site itself was clean, beautiful views and came with a fire pit which was really handing. The toilet/shower provided was clean and extremely convenient.
Mark was fantastic, he came down when I setting up to say hi and give me a run down on where everything is.
Highly recommended staying at any of these sites.

Directions were clear and easy to find. Welcomed by Simon on arrival and sites pointed out. Easy to setup at site with plenty of area to choose. Beautiful peaceful site. Plenty fire wood.
Unfortunately we traveled after big rain which I don't advise to travel on the roads to property and made it very damp under foot. Otherwise great.

We’ve visited this camp site twice now, and have had a great stay each time. This time was the end of August, so quite boggy along the track and on parts of the camp site, but we just carried our gear into the site to avoid driving through the especially boggy sections. The kids loved hanging out at the creek, checking out the frogs in the puddles on the way to the toilet, and playing in the mud.

Immaculately mowed grass with wide open space, serenity deluxe. So peaceful.
Campsites do not get any better than this!
Ali & Damian are excellent hosts and super friendly.
Definitely one of the very best Hipcamps.
