This is our third stay and this time we took the whole extended family for Easter. Beautiful setting, caring hosts and high quality amenities. Suited our group with the option of staying in the flat for the non campers in the family. Starlit nights around the campfire and being able to have our dogs close by, safe to run around made it memorable. Highly recommend.

Sam and Jo were awesome hosts. They showed our kids all around the farm, letting them feed their animals and walk their little dog, Sunny. They absolutely loved it. The facilities were great; hot showers, proper bathrooms, water and power! They even let us set up an easter egg hunt in their front yard. A fab little spot with very welcoming hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kangaroo Rise! The hosts Adrian and Sandy were wonderful and welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. Their property is beautifully presented and they work very hard to make sure everyone can enjoy their experience. The camp kitchen is impressive with a toilet and shower at back and both are spacious and thoughtfully appointed. The camping area has a great sense of space, we didnt feel too close to anyone, we could enjoy the views around us, and those views are spectacular! It was great to see the wildlife around the property too. If you have children, they will love looking for koalas, seeing kangaroos, a variety of native birds and the wedge tailed eagles are so majestic. The property is away from the road, and provides a peaceful, tranquil escape. It is also in close proximity of Leongatha and Inverloch for day trips out or supply runs. I cannot fault the property and we truly loved our time there. Our doggo was able to relax in the fully fenced camping area and enjoy the space and the smells. Pepper loved her stay! We look forward to another visit soon and will recommend this destination to everyone. Theres is also a two bedroom, beautiful, sparkling clean and modern unit to stay in as an option. Its truly such a magnificent property to enjoy. Thank you both Adrian and Sandy for a wonderful time at Kangaroo Rise!!

Gorgeous quiet little spot, friendly greeting and quick last minute booking. Amenity block older and well used but perfectly functional and clean. Lots of shade and grass. The nearby Tavern had great food and good vibes. Perfect stop passing through up the Hume because didn't need to get food or water. Could just stop and rest.

Absolutely loved staying here thank you so much Chrissy. The dogs are amazing and well behaved dogs if you don’t have dogs or don’t like them don’t stay because they just want pats and to keep guard. It’s super close to town if you get a chance stop into eagle hawk bakery the old one any pie from there is amazing.

This is the loveliest spot to camp less than 2 hours drive from Melbourne. A fenced, sheltered paddock with access to power and water if needed and the recent addition of a well appointed kitchen with adjoining shower and toilet. Clean and well maintained. Numbers are limited to 4 so everyone has space. The highlight for me was the most hospitable of hosts in Adrian and the availability of a fire pit on request. Plenty to do nearby during the day. Venus Beach and nature walks followed by a winery lunch at one of the numerous vineyards in the area. Notable mentions are the appearance of kangaroos every evening, birdsong and stars to see at night. Thanks Adrian and Sandy

Whilst our horse yards are being built, we can offer a safe and secure laneway for your horses to be kept for $10 per horse per night. Waivers are in place and will need to be signed prior to any riding on the property. The farm offers a campsite with brand new accessible amenities including hot shower (limited). Firepits are permitted and wood will be provided (depending on fire restrictions in place at the time of booking). We welcome pets on leashes, but they must be under control at all times by owners and cleaned up after. We ask that you organise and confirm any animals coming to the farm prior to booking by message. The powered camp site can cater up to 50 people. $45.00 per person per night (except children under 10 years old). All persons under 18 years of age are to be supervised whilst on the farm. Alternatively, for people not wanting to camp out or those with caravans or RV’S we have a site in close proximity to a 20 x 9 mtr shed, powered with concrete slab. We border the Mitchell river with the farm so there are about 1 km of secluded banks to sit or swim from if you want to just stay put. For those wanting pure relaxation, meditation, and soul grounding. We can personally show you some tremendous places on the farm to go within. Pure solace is something that many take for granted. Use our pyramid to draw in Quantum/etheric energy, go to the top of our crystal hill and feel the energies. There is so much to be thankful for when you can release in these spaces. Alternatively sit amongst the cows and feel their energy surround you as their curious nature brings them in closer and closer until they relax around you. Alternatively if you want to chill with a beer on the river bank and try for some bass, or watch the eastern water dragons play in the sun and water, then that’s a great way to unwind, or soak up the sun rays as it drops below the horizon on the crystal hill or rolling flood plains. A personal favourite of a campfire and a few drinks with the stars is a great way to unwind when you have so much space and privacy. The sites are located next to our rental lodge where we sometimes do retreats, or holiday let it as well. The privacy is wonderful if that's what you are looking for. A walk each morning from one end of the farm where you will stay to the other and back is a leisurely 2kms so maybe that is your morning start, but walk the lanes and check the fences and cows while you're at it please 🙂, ticks a job for us while your relaxing. Want to learn about the history of the area? Well a session with us will teach you everything didn't know about the Dargo High Plains, the mountain cattlemen of the high country and much more. Take advantage of your time to enjoy the history of the area and the wonderful past times enjoyed. What is available off farm? Number one, the pub with great counter meals is across the river, 5kms away. Lindenow Farmers Hotel is iconic in its design and history, the reputed Lindenow Long Paddock Cafe is also a few hundred metres from the pub, and the Post Office and Store have all your essentials. Need a few more things? Bairnsdale is 24kms away from the farm and offers all you need. Lakes Entrance is about 40 mins for a day out on the beach. Paynesville around 30 mins. If you want to venture up into the mountains then why not go through Dargo just 45 mins and up onto Mt Hotham (Summer only) via the Dargo High Plains. It’s a great track and on occasions I take people up for a guided tour and secret camp spots on my yearly run up there for my own relax time. East Gippsland in general is a wonderful region to stop and relax during all seasons but especially summer with the water activities available, the camping in the high country, and the markets that abound the area. Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. If you wish to visit local areas where dogs can’t be taken, you can book your furry friend in to be dog-sat here on the property while you go out exploring. * As this is a farm, and is surrounded by other farms, there may be farm noises like dogs barking, sheep baa-ing , cows moo-ing, horses neighing, Guinea fowl squawking, and/or Belle the Needy Noisy Nubian Dairy Goat calling for her feed (or rug if it’s cold!) We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers. But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience) * And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. A camp shelter currently under construction will provide somewhere out of the weather with lighting, water and power available. The property is located 30 minutes from Lake mountain where you can ski during winter or hike and mountain bike during summer. Lake Eildon is also 30 minutes away and a great venue for fishing, swimming and boating. The Acheron, Rubicon and Goulburn rivers are close by and suitable for fishing and kayaking. Mountain bike riders can also try the tracks at Buxton or Eildon. There are many hiking/walking options including the historical Rubicon Valley just 20 minutes away. If you are into 4wd’ing or trail bikes there are many tracks in the Black Range across the road or the Big River area.
