The property is a working cattle grazing farm with large grassy sites available. There is plenty of wildlife watching available so be sure to keep an eye out for koalas, echidnas, wedge tail eagles, owls, wallabies and wombats. There is also plenty of bushwalking available in the nearby flora and fauna reserve. We are also close to rail trail which is popular for bike riding and walking. Relax under the shady gums and enjoy the sounds of natures, pan for gold in the creek or prospect around old Gobur town. Yarck country market is on the 3rd Saturday of every month. General store and giddy goat cafe in Yarck. Bucks bakery in Yarck serve superb pies and sweet treats. Yarck pub nearby has great meals, pet friendly beergarden, ice and takeaways Yarck produce store is open 7 days, stocking steaks, sausages, salami, vegetables, bread and milk. Campfires are permitted only in a metal fire pit, supplied when firewood bundle is purchased or bring your own but any council restrictions must be observed by campers. Bucket of water must be on hand and adult supervision required at all times whenever a fire is lit. Water from creek for washing is on tap and rainwater for drinking is available for campers. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash and kept under the owners control at all times. Campers are welcome to set up on the grassy camp area or if they prefer privacy may set up away from others. Let the host know your wishes. Vehcles must not be driven randomly across paddocks, please follow tracks as guided by host. Party equipment, DJ decks and lighting is only made available to those who book all campsites. Message me for more info.

There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. Access 4 Wheel Drive only. There is one access to the river via the road at the front of the property. As you drive down the drive way, you will pass three dams on the left with the third dam being the largest. The north facing hill above the dams is a vineyard which has been in production in the past. Now the crows and cockatoos wait patiently every season for their annual feast of Cabernet grapes. At the river you where you camp you can enjoy walking along the river and the associated activities such as fishing swimming and enjoy the physical environment. The area is home to a family of platypuses.

This property was previously a home site but was burned out in the 2009 fires. Now being returned to nature and available for camping only. Two dams and a seasonal creek attract birds and local wildlife. A total of 30 acres is available for exploring and enjoying the views. This private location has a single site with power and water, suitable for two vans or several camper trailers, a flushing toilet and further grassed areas suitable for tents and camper trailers. A camp shelter currently under construction will provide somewhere out of the weather with lighting, water and power available. The property is located 30 minutes from Lake mountain where you can ski during winter or hike and mountain bike during summer. Lake Eildon is also 30 minutes away and a great venue for fishing, swimming and boating. The Acheron, Rubicon and Goulburn rivers are close by and suitable for fishing and kayaking. Mountain bike riders can also try the tracks at Buxton or Eildon. There are many hiking/walking options including the historical Rubicon Valley just 20 minutes away. If you are into 4wd’ing or trail bikes there are many tracks in the Black Range across the road or the Big River area.

The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, with hill side views on the other. All 3 campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Site One is a large flat area the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site. In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths have loved this site till very recently, without explanation, found two dead in last 9 months, that don't explain how or why. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct. With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Where to start, this was one of the nicest properties i’ve ever seen such nice big and open fields which were so well maintained. Sharelle and Wayne were the nicest hosts and so easy to just hang around and have a yarn about their property a facilities. Camp site with built in fire pits and classic wooden bench’s all around to sit at. Hammocks to lay in as the campsite lights up at night with all the lovely lights they have place around your site. Highlight for my son was the animal feedings of the highland cows , horse and chickens. Sharelle even let us sneak a peak at her rescue ringtail possum. You know it’s a good Hipcamp when my son dint want to leave and asked to book another night. We will be back!!

Beautiful green caravan park right on the river. The amenities were clean and well stocked. You can hire a firepit at low cost and enjoy a fire. Take your own wood and kindling, as there isn't much to collect onsite. Highly recommend!

We booked this very last minute as our original booking had bull ants and nests making it 'unpleasant' to camp - we were grateful for that (esp for a long weekend) and really happy we made it out there. The park is very very well maintained, lush and green sites all round, close to the river for any fishing enthusiasts. - a lot of the permanent cabins are a bit un sightly but everything else was a 10/10 experience including the friendliness of the caretakers

Wayne and Sharelle were such lovely hosts, welcoming us with a smile. Sharelle went out her way to make our stay enjoyable and we will certainly visit again in the future.

It's a lovely property, would be excellent in autumn when days and nights are cooler. I particularly appreciated how well Marine has trained her dog, one whistle and he instantly returned home. Life goals for dog owners and much appreciated by my on lead reactive girl.

What a great spot to camp! The river access from the camp site was magic during the hot weather & our two dogs were in heaven having so much space to sniff, run & explore. I booked our next visit before we had even left the site.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Goulburn River

Good location on the Goulburn, can flick a line in the river. Quiet. Easy access. Heaps of room. One of the last places that let's you have a camp-fire. Pack out all your rubbish so it stays open please.

I loved camping at "on the banks". It was beautiful,peaceful,tranqiul. Lot's of wildlife,great hiking spots. Lovely creek and hospitable hosts. Highly reccommended.

3 nights at The Fern Glade

Michaels Site 1 (Rierside) was fabulous. There was fabulous open flat land to set up without being under gum trees. The site is within its own fencing. We didn't let our dog off lead as she is very prey driven however our camping buddies dogs were having a wonderful time roaming the block. Direct access to the river and all you would need around the campfire if cool enough to light one, and a flushing toilet to boot. We will be back, just so close to home.
