Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
This place was incredible, with lots of room, a beautiful camp spot, and on top of all that, a host who was amazing to deal with. They provided us with firewood, fresh eggs, and even took us around the farm just because they wanted to show us around, which was such a lovely touch.
The campsite itself was peaceful, private and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the perfect place to switch off, relax and enjoy being out in nature. Everything was clean, well looked after and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Right near the creek too so it was a lovely touch to just sit and switch off their too. I had a 2WD lexus with all terrains and getting in and out during the dryer days was easy peasy for anyone who cares to know or doesn't have all the tools to get to all the spots.
The hospitality really made the experience though. You could tell the hosts genuinely cared about their guests and wanted everyone to have a great time. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful camping experience!
We loved camping over the Kings Birthday weekend at Dawn's Place. This was one of the most private Hipcamps we have visited so far. The views are to die for, plenty of room to spread out, so peaceful and quiet. Loads of firewood to collect for yourself.
We visited Lima Falls and Rocky Ned, the area has so many walking tracks. 20min to the town of Benella, 30min to Mansfield.
So you can relax and unwind like we did or there is heaps to do in the area if you want to go, go, go!
Your host Damien is a wealth of knowledge for the area and his passion for his family, land, animals, community and his guests is infectious and his simply a great bloke to talk to. This is our second visit on Damien's property and we will keep coming back and recommend anyone to pay him a visit, you wont be disappointed.
We loved camping at Blackwood Park. The views are picturesque and Damien was an amazing host! He showed us around his farm and gave us some top spots to visit. We will be back 😃

Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
We loved camping at Damien’s property, private and peaceful. Damien is an amazing host, knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife and we learnt about his farming practices. He suggested some great walks which we loved. The camp is very well maintained and flat, the creek was an added bonus. Cannot wait to visit again.

The scenery approaching Damien's land is absolutely spectacular, and then you realise this is where you'll be camping!
Plenty of wildlife and birdlife and the property and camping spot is just what the soul needed.
Big open skies and big open space.
Damien is really friendly and took me down to the camp-site and brought me a fire pit to use and some wood to get me started.
Plenty of wood laying around to burn, my dog had a great time and directions and instructions were spot on.
Reception with Boost, which is part of Telstra, was not great. Enough to get calls through, not good enough to scroll, which was ideal.
I had a lovely, much needed escape.

Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
We loved our stay at Damian's farm. From the time we have arrived we felt extremely welcomed. The site was extremely spacious and well maintained. Kids spent their time playing cricket, riding bikes and visiting newly born calfs. Damian's vast knowledge of the area helped us explore the surroundings. Definately recommend this farm stay.

Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
Charlie’s spot was a beautiful, easy getaway for the two of us and our dog.
Plenty of space for our pup to run and play, the creek (about 15m from the site) was perfect for a plunge. Our dog was braver than us in the cool water, he loved it.
Damien was lovely and accomodating, showing us to the site and checking we had everything we needed. Seeing the animals grazing nearby was wonderful as well.
Truly a lovely place to visit and we will definitely be back!
We loved our stay at Blackwood Park. Damien is an excellent host, from the warm welcome upon arrival to the information of the working farm and even a trip to a paddock to see a new born calf.
There is plenty of shade if required and a nice little running creek to splash in. Fresh eggs from the farm for breakfast was a winner. Fire pit and shovel provided. There is only 1 camp so you have the whole place to yourself, ahh the serenity!
The views/outlook are something special lots of walks and look outs to explore.
Highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back to visit again. Thanks so much for sharing your special place Damien.

Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
We had a great time camping by the creek. It was very quiet and plenty of space for everyone. Damien was very helpful and friendly. The creek was a nice spot for little kids to play and cool off and the dogs liked being able to run around in the fenced off paddock. Highly recommend staying when you need to book a long weekend or other busy times. Stress free camping for everyone.

On arrival, we were created with a helpful smile and eggs. The fire pit area was prepared, and fire wood ready. We loved this stay so much the first time, and the second time didn't disappoint. We were offered suggestions on things to see on the area - and we are so glad we visited them, as they were amazing! Still so much to see and do in the area, so I'm sure we will be back again.

Damien is a wonderful host with great suggestions for places to visit. Location is perfect. Close enough to major towns but also offering the peace and quiet of a bush setting. A walk around the farm was a bonus. Campsite by the creek is perfect with great views.

Charlie's Spot - Creek Side Camping
Camping riverside was absolutely incredible! The site was perfectly set up, with plenty of shade for a comfortable camping experience while still having open space to enjoy the sunshine and a game of cricket without worrying about neighbours. The fire pit and hotplate were fantastic additions, making it easy to cook up a delicious meal while soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
The highlight, however, was the amazing host—friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help! Communication was excellent, and their insights into the local area made our stay even better. The farm tour was a special treat, and watching the cows welcome new calves each day was a truly unforgettable experience.
There’s still so much left for us to explore, and we can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.
