A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more. Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience. Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes. Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's. Amplified music is not allowed. Local attractions are the historic towns of Maldon, Clunes, Avoca and Dunolly all part of the Central Goldfields. Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes. Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

Choose from 3 carefully selected camp sites and set up base camp to enjoy day trips exploring the local wineries, such as del Rios, walking and cycling trails of the You Yangs State Park, and Serendip Wildlife Sanctuary, or as a convenient overnight stop on your way to explore the Great Ocean Road The camping area is easily accessed from maintained roads, where guests can drive in and park on the spacious lower paddock (no reversing or 3-point-turns necessary). As this beautiful, secluded location is off-grid, guests will need to be Self Contained (BYO toilet/shower) and Leave No Trace. If you would like to enjoy our property all to yourself, simply book two of the campsites, and send us a message and we will happily reserve the 3rd campsite for your group free of charge. We are happy to consider additional guests and up to 1 extra vehicle per campsite (camping with your friends, their kids and yours is more fun!) however, ensure to contact the Host to request and arrange this at the time of booking. We expect our guests to be quiet and respectful to neighbouring farming families/properties. Parties and large groups are strictly not permitted. Please take everything with you and leave the site as you found it. Extra charges will apply for any rubbish, food scraps etc left on site. Amenities: ‘Long Drop’ toilets, BBQs and picnic tables are available a short walk away at the Anakie Gorge Picnic grounds. When visiting the Anakie Gorge Walk/Picnic Grounds (Brisbane Ranges National Park) please observe and abide by the rules of Parks Victoria. For the safety of our guests, bookings falling on Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating days will be cancelled and campers will be reimbursed. Severe Weather and Bushfire: Please make yourself aware of bushfire or other severe weather warnings (e.g. ABC Emergency or Emergency Victoria) for UP-TO-DATE information, especially during the fire danger period. Safety and Hazards: You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those in your care. Hazards to be aware of: snakes, uneven ground, trees or loose/falling limbs (it is your responsibility to set up your camp in an area you deem free of hazards). In the cooler months, the land turns from shades of gold to greens.  There are no facilities, its just you and the land (bliss!) so ensure you have everything you need with you, and take all your waste when you leave.  If you fancy fresh fish for dinner, just down the road is Tuki Trout Farm, or nearby Cairn Curran Reservoir and Tullaroop Reservoir are great for fishing. The tourist villages of Newstead, Clunes and Maldon are all a short drive away, and Daylesford is just 35km drive.  Campfires are permitted when fire bans are not in place. NOTE: We do offer the neighbouring 50-acre paddock for hunting/shooting - with conditions. Please note, this activity is offered separately to our Hipcamp operation and needs to be organised with us directly. Also, we do not allow hunting/shooting next door, if there is a group camping already.

Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes. Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

There's also a native eucalypt forest right across the road with miles of fire trails for walking and horse riding. In the cooler months, the land turns from shades of gold to greens.  There are no facilities, its just you and the land (bliss!) so ensure you have everything you need with you, and take all your waste when you leave.  If you fancy fresh fish for dinner, just down the road is Tuki Trout Farm, or nearby Cairn Curran Reservoir and Tullaroop Reservoir are great for fishing. The tourist villages of Newstead, Clunes and Maldon are all a short drive away, and Daylesford is just 35km drive.  Campfires are permitted when fire bans are not in place. NOTE: We do offer the neighbouring 50-acre paddock for hunting/shooting - with conditions. Wow! What a great little camp. We booked here to be close to Sovereign Hill for the kids. It was a lovely little camp for our group of two families. The grass was green, the sun was shining, there was plenty of shade and great facilities around the camp fire, like tables. We loved the rusty relics but a true highlight was the Powder Room. Thanks for having us Chris. We hope to be back one day. Don't hesitate in booking Penzance. One of our favourite campsites this trip.

If you love serenity, space, wildlife & birds then this is the campsite for you. You set up your tent or park your vehicle on your very own allocated camping area. Each area is huge & can hold a number of people within your group or you can have it all to yourself. You won't see or hear any of your neighbours. Each site is situated along the picturesque creek that runs through the property. There are birds & wildlife galore here, a photographers dream! This is a working sheep station and whilst it's dog friendly you have to be considerate. There are walking tracks and views. The owners are very friendly & obliging. You can purchase fire wood and even rent a portaloo if you're not self contained. You will feel yourself relax here. Highly recommend.

Excellent Trout Fishing in large dams on property. Rainbow and Brown trout stocked in both dams. Good sized fish. Also eels in a another couple of dams on property, so it certainly has something for all anglers. 550 acre property which has 3 different seasonal creeks flowing through it. Six excellent hideaway Camping sites to choose from. Some close to the water. Large sites which can handle 40 campers per site. Good areas of bushland and also a working sheep farm. Very private areas for camping. Campfires available but only in months when fire restrictions are not in force. A wide range of birdlife and duck life, wildlife including kangaroos, possums, echidnas. In wet weather you may need a 4 wheel drive vechile to access some of the sites. You will need to bring all your camping gear as these are tent and vechile sites only. We dont have any huts at this stage. 30 minute drive to Ballarat, 45 Min Geelong, 2 minutes drive to the village of Elaine and The Farmgate Shop which is open 7 days a week with a full range of all groceries, bbq needs, drinks, snacks, etc. 5 minutes to dollys creek, 5 minutes to Mt Doran/Lal Lal, 10 minutes to Meredith. There is a local taxi service if guests would like to go out for lunch or dinner with wine and/or cocktails at some of the delicious cafes, restaurants & bars: in Kyneton we love Little Swallow Cafe, Home Grown, Miss M's Lounge, Dhaba, Fook Shing, and Botanik Balcony. In Woodend we love Bangkok House, Tram Place, Las Margaritas, 600 Above, Milko, Fox in the Chamber & Gindu. Kangaroos often bounce through the property at dusk & dawn not to mention stunning sunrises & sunsets. There is a lovely quiet bike ride or walk along our road with minimal traffic. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions & must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. This is the main source of fuel for our home so if you burn the wood, we have paid to have split on our property we’ll have to replace it to keep our family warm. You are not permitted to use a chainsaw on our property. We have 3 separate camping locations on the property. All 3 sites are easily accessible for RVs and camp trailers. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Rubbish cannot be left on our property.

We are a working farm, with mostly cattle and sheep, so enjoy watching happy animals grazing and the local wildlife going about their day. The property is very well located to be a base camp for day trips throughout the southwest. Things to do in the local vicinity include plenty of options for walking, bike riding and horse trails, plus countless lakes including the nearby Deep Lake and Lake Ettrick (or Tooliorook) - both wonderful for swimming and stocked with fish. These lakes provide excellent opportunities for boating, water sports and fishing. There are also plenty of great local pubs and attractions, all within a short distance. The historic and charming Elephant Bridge Hotel is a short drive away in Darlington, offering meals in one of Victoria’s oldest continuously licensed venues. You can also find supplies just down the road at Derrinallum, or Lismore, which are each a mere few minutes drive away. Gooseberry Hill is a flat safe paddock area that was once home to dozens of gold miners in canvas tents seeking their luck. It is ideal for campervans and caravans. Situated just on the outskirts of Dunolly, it is very close to town amenities. There is tap water on the site near the 150 year old apple tree near the main road. You are able to camp privately well back from the road. The site once had brick buildings of shopkeepers and even a hospital - all now long gone. The double story hotel built in 1862 as a Cobb & Co coach hotel for the Gooseberry Hill gold miners, is the only building still standing. The land had a vineyard at one time, and still has a small olive grove and quince trees. It was used in the 1870's as a sporting ground with events such as brass bands, Lantern Parades and even a formal Ball in the adjoining Cobb & Co Hotel. It was a wild and rough time in the gold mining days with a double murder at the butchers shop on the site. There was also a Chinese Camp nearby, as well as gambling dens. All the trees were removed in the 1860's for mining, but now vegetation is being restored. At the rear of the property is the quarry and old diggings. it is an interesting walk but beware of old mining shafts and deep diggings. In summer time watch out for snakes. Kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas are all around the property.
