The property feels wonderfully isolated, yet you’re only about 20 minutes from Daylesford.
As there were five family members camping, I booked the site with its own toilet — and what a bonus that turned out to be! The view from the loo was absolutely stunning, overlooking Mt Franklin. 🚽😂
John’s mob of sheep paid us a courtesy visit, but they were definitely not a problem. In fact, they added to the whole experience.
Basically, you’re paying for the use of a private paddock, a toilet and a spectacular view of Mt Franklin. Just be aware that this particular site is quite exposed to windy weather. The upside is that there are no overhanging trees to worry about. There was also plenty of timber available, so we had a lovely campfire every night.
John went out of his way to make our group feel welcome. He even organised a special feeding of his sheep so our smallest family member, just 17 months old, could watch the whole mob being fed. It was a wonderful touch and something our little one absolutely loved.
A beautiful, simple camping experience in a great location — and one we’d happily do again.
