We had a fantastic stay at Penzance! Fossicking for firewood and Cooking on the Campfire was the highlight. Will definitely be back.
What an absolute hidden gem! Penzance Bushland Retreat is one of the most peaceful and well-maintained camping spots we've stayed at. The campsite is spacious, private and surrounded by beautiful bushland, making it the perfect place to switch off and relax.
Chris is a fantastic host—friendly, welcoming and clearly passionate about the property. You can see the care that's gone into every detail, from the unique antique displays to the thoughtfully set-up camp area.
The standout feature has to be the amenities. The bathroom is exceptionally clean and honestly one of the nicest we've ever seen at a campsite! It's a real luxury while still keeping the authentic bush camping experience.
If you're looking for a quiet escape with plenty of birdlife, a great fire pit, and a relaxing atmosphere, Penzance Bushland Retreat is hard to beat. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway.

We loved our stay at Penzance Retreat, the property is stunning, quiet and pretty. The central firepit area is super well set up and our dog loved being able to explore.

Beautiful, peaceful spot, perfect for a break! Loved listening to the many different birds each morning. A very generous sized camping space with privacy and the most gorgeous toilet to boot! Highly recommend!

Very quiet spot with good star gazing. The toilet is amazingly clean and in an area that suits the campsite very well.
Lots of Kookaburras and Tawny Frogmouths.

Penzance is a peaceful spot. Nice place to visit. It has the best Hipcamp toilet we’ve visited with tank water. The Taj Mahal of toilets. Private site with easy access though the last turn could be challenging for larger vans. Fabulous camp fireplace with cooking grate, hanging pot hooks etc. If you BYO Camp oven, bbq plate and billy you can cook up a storm.

Penzance Bushland Retreat highly recommended! This private camping destination is easily one of the best sites I’ve ever visited. Chris is very helpfull for your qustions,this site is an antique restorer, the property offers a unique blend of rugged bushland and curated charm. Best of all? It features a five-star toilet that makes the stay even more comfortable! :)
Penzance is clearly a labour of love and we felt blessed that Chris opened part of his bushland property to us. The amenities are above and beyond expectations. Thoughtful quirkiness and priceless treasures are plentiful. Highly recommend.
We loved camping at the Bush retreat. We loved the privacy, the super clean site, bathroom facilities and the old relics on the property.
Our family of 5 had a very relaxing stay and would recommend this hipcamp to anyone interested in chilling with family and friends.

Penzance Bushland Retreat
Penzance was a great spot to camp. Chris was really accomodating and responsive to messages before we arrived. The bathroom was way more luxury than we are used to when camping! A flushing toilet, sink with running water, hand soap and hand towel were very well received. The campsite itself is really roomy, it easily accommodated a couple tents and a caravan. It is also quite a private spot on the property and there are some shady spots for hanging up a hammock. The firepit is well equipped for cooking over o flame too. Chris gave us a tour of his workshop which was really interesting. We’d happily return.

We had the best time camping at Penzance Bushland Retreat! Loved having the campsite to ourselves. The flushing toilet was such a luxury. The firepit was perfect and the firewood we added on to our booking was generous. Looking forward to staying again.

Penzance Bushland Retreat
This is one of the best Hipcamps I have visited over the last couple of years. A beautiful setting with large amounts of space, a large fire with cooking aids over the fire. Tables and chairs provided. The powder room is second to none and a touch of luxury considering off grid camping. The museum artefacts spread over the property provide a walk into the past. Chris is a very helpful host and maintains the property to a very high standard. Easy access and a small town very close for supplies. Optus coverage is limited which for me was a positive A very peaceful and relaxing location.
Such a peaceful and well set up place. Tables, benches, chairs, a big fire pit and the fanciest toilet I've ever seen at a campsite. Lots of birdlife, wildflowers and many interesting things from days gone by around the property to photograph. It would have been great to stay another night! Thanks for sharing your magnificent property with us, Chris!

Wow! What a great little camp. We booked here to be close to Sovereign Hill for the kids. It was a lovely little camp for our group of two families. The grass was green, the sun was shining, there was plenty of shade and great facilities around the camp fire, like tables. We loved the rusty relics but a true highlight was the Powder Room. Thanks for having us Chris. We hope to be back one day. Don't hesitate in booking Penzance. One of our favourite campsites this trip.
Really nice secluded, private spot with a ripper toilet and friendly, likeable host. Chris' place is spacious and secluded with some interesting rustic metal antiques placed around the property. There's a couple of very solid tables for storing food stuff and doing your cooking & washing up so don't bother bringing a camp table like we did!
One of the best Hipcamps around.

Beautiful property and a great camping area all to ourselves. We unfortunately chose a very rainy weekend to stay but would definitely go again with some sunshine.
