Our property, called 'Number 1', has been family owned for 5 generations and operates as a working cattle breeding farm. It backs onto the beautiful Pyrennes Ranges, and is surrounded by state forest on all sides. On the northern boundary we border the pristine Mt Sugarloaf Reservoir stocked with Redfin and home to some beautiful wildlife. We are in close proximity to some well known wineries of the region such Summerfields, Mt Avoca and The Pyrenees. Enjoy a quick day out to any of these wineries and it will be a day filled with delightful food and superb wine. If you'd rather enjoy the great outdoors, Number 1 will provide endless amounts of entertainment and fun outdoor activities. Make sure to say hello to all the resident cattle, goats, and horses during your stay!

Yabbie dam site
Yabbie Dam
We loved our 3 days spent at Yabbie Dam site. The site, being in a slight dip, was nicely protected and private. Rick was a great host coming to meet us within half an hour of our arrival, giving us some info about the property, ensuring we had enough firewood and even recommending a nearby winery for a lunch option (which we can confirm was delicious!) There are a few camp sites on the property but set apart so we couldn't see or hear anyone else and it felt like our own private camp ground. Thanks again Rick - we highly recommend this stay.

Dry creek site
A Great Weekend Get Away
The camp site was well maintained and surrounded by state forest. The campsites were reasonably flat with lots of room to spread out. Rick is a fantastic host, very friendly and attentive. It is close to Avoca and the Blue Pyrenees Winery where they serve delicious platters.! Also the Avoca Hotel is a must for dinner! The food is exceptional and a great selection of beers. Thanks so much Rick for your hospitality.

Yabbie dam site
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yabbie dam site. The site was very peaceful and the farm had some lovely views. The sunrises were spectacular. The treed setting attracted birds for us to watch and provided shade when needed. Rick met us at the farm gate, at our nominated arrival time, and led us to our camp site. The site was well prepared with the campsite grass just mown. Rick took the time to settle us in, talking about the farm setting, the camping facilities and the surrounding countryside, as well as making a few suggestions on what we could do in the local region. We particularly enjoyed the recommended walk along the nearby Mt. Sugarloaf Track. Rick provided ample wood for our fires at night, at no extra charge. The flies were a nuisance at times but hard to avoid when camping in warm Australian weather. We were very grateful for the chance to spend some time on this beautiful property.

Woodlands site
We stayed at the woodlands camp-site which was nestled amongst some nice big shadey trees and it had a nice back drop of the mountains with the reservoir close by. Would definitely stay here again!
