A true slice of Paradise!
Magic! Absolute Magic! What gorgeous slice of paradise Rick and Julie have. They were fantastic hosts, so friendly, welcoming and accomodating. It felt like we had known them for years. Rick and Julie went over and above to ensure we had a fabulous stay. The kids especially loved the snuggles they received from the goats Pablo and Dooley, feeding the horses, Macca and Rigby, fishing for redfin in the reservoir and moving thier yabby nets from dam to dam. The cows, calves and bulls kept to themselves and the sheep and their lambs in the neighbouring paddocks were just lovely to watch. The birdlife around the property is extensive, as are the native wildflower species and the crickets and frogs in the dams provided a lovely soundtrack to relaxing afternoons and evenings around the fire. We would highly recommend Mt Sugaloaf. A truly superb property, so very picturesque with absolutley lovely hosts. We can't wait to come back.

Lovely, peaceful camping
The camp site was great and had nice views of the dam, mountain range and forest. Our host Rick, was warm and friendly and there to meet and greet and had selected a dry area for us to camp. Rick gave us a good run down of the farm and surrounding areas, with walks and directions to Avoca Falls. We enjoyed the peace and being with nature. Will be back again.

Mount Sugarloaf is a beautiful location with spectacular views of the mountain as well as being located close to Sugarloaf Reservoir. Rick & Julie could not have been more helpful, communication from the outset was terrific and their interest in making sure that the Hipcamp experience for us was going to be the best it could be given the inclement weather due. Walking around on arrival we had a choice of spots and they even moved the firewood for us when we repositioned. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to unforeseen problems with our camper, which was disappointing for us. We will be back, we understand why this is a popular Hipcamp.

Rick was a great host, meeting us on arrival and directing us to the most suitable camping spot. He told us about several walks in the area. We did two lovely walks. One was a circuit of Sugarloaf Reservoir. Beautiful area, nestled at the base of the Pyrenees ranges. We will definitely be going back!

Privacy galore
Privacy galore! 500 acres to ourselves.....except the wildlife, flowers and cattle! Beautiful vista, lovely bushwalk, water views, easy access and set up. Julie and Rick have it sorted. Table, deck chair, fireplace and loads of fire wood. So close to Mt Avoca winery and Blue Pyrenees. We wish we could have stayed longer but had to head to nearby Grampians.
