There is a fire pit (when fires are permitted) so bring marshmallows to toast for the children. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to water but no rubbish facilities are available. All rubbish has to go home with you We have lots of wildlife in particular birds, hence dogs need to be on a leashes at all times. We are located half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with the bush giving our property great privacy. There is lots of opportunity for bush walking. Prospective campers have to get on site by daylight, as there are no dedicated spots and access could be difficult. Pets on leashes welcome.

Venman Bushland National Park is just up the road and offers great walking trails. Daisy Hill Conservation Park is also a short drive away which is a great spot for a picnic and offers mountain bike trails, walking tracks and a BBQ area. Moreton bay access is also close by with a short drive to either Victoria Point, Cleveland or Redland Bay. In addition, the property has beautiful walking trails. Campfires permitted however must be kept within the allocated fire pit and must be outside of restrictions. You must have portable toilet and be fully self-sufficient. All waste to be removed by campers upon departure. We would like to preserve this site for all future campers so please ensure that you abide by our rules. Generators welcomed, to be switched off between 10pm and 7am. Please be mindful of loud music after 10pm - please adhere to this request else you may be asked to leave. Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots. We pride our self’s on having a lovely property and want you to have an amazing camping experience. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS. The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking. We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you. All camp fires must be fully extinguished with water prior to departure.

Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Multiple natural springs exist on the property and a few small spring-fed waterholes are scattered down the cascading hills. Friendly ducks, geese, fish, horses and an abundance of native wildlife live here. This location is home to several endangered species due to being one of the last isolated pockets of rainforest in the area. Sites are part of The Bush Clinic where we specialise in designing and making natural creams, soaps, teas, dodorants and other products as well as running regular Meditation courses and topics such as Energy, Frequency, Grounding and Advanced Organic Growth techniques for those wanting to join in are formally available during your stay. Option 2: From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road. This route is 4x4 access is recommended with some narrow bends – please drive to conditions. We had a group of families with kids and Dogs over the Easter break and it was a fantastic camp spot. It has everything for the parents and kids, Nice flat ground to set up and a great spot on the creek for the kids to spend all day playing around which gave us adults to be able to take in the peaceful surroundings and watch the world go by listening to the running creek. Having this camp site separate was great as we had heaps of space for the caravans and for everyone to kick a footy and a game of cricket not having to stress about cars and other camper driving through. Great to have the toilet on site and great camp fire area overlooking the creek and to watch the stars at night. We will definitely be back as its so close to us yet a world away when your camped up. Thanks Patrick and Tom for a great spot and the great communication.

Great 3 spot camp ground by running swimming creek. Access by 4wd or game 2 wheel drive vehicle. Very little traffic noise considering proximity to main roads. We loved it.

Loved camping at sarabah stub in particular lower platypus camp spot. Plenty of room and shade on the lower section. Lots of distance between sites and very peaceful. Saw lots of turtles but not the elusive platypus. Thanks for having us.

We had an amazing weekend at this immaculate property. The facilities are fantastic and the hosts amazingly welcoming. Our kids enjoyed catching yabbies in the creek, and the acres of manicured grass provided ample space for all sorts of sporty activities.

Such a beautiful location and camping spot. The lake/dam is lovely and we really enjoyed going for a swim and kayak. It was such a peaceful location and we absolutely loved seeing the cows swimming. It was not far from Mount tambourine so we enjoyed going exploring and doing some hikes and eating at the cafes. Overall we loved the camp ground.

Stonesthrow is an excellent place to camp, just a stonesthrow from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Richard was very friendly and accommodating on arrival. The elevated sites were suitably spaced apart, providing enough privacy and so much so that every site had their own view.

This was our second time booking at Sarabah Stud, Stoney Creek site and we are already talking about the next trip there. Great location, owners are lovely & welcoming. Toilet is clean, although a little bit of a walk at that site so I’d recommend taking you own. This place is stunning & the owners clearly look after it. Thank you for having us & we can’t wait for our next visit.

Dave’s dell is a secluded spot next to flying fox creek, enough water to cool off and heaps of fire wood laying around. It’s beautiful country out at Ferny glen nice rolling hills with cattle and pine trees everywhere hard to believe it’s only 45mins from the coast. I’d love to come back again
