Koala Creek Camping offers a peaceful escape just a short drive from the Gold Coast. Nestled in the scenic Guanaba Valley, the campsite sits alongside an upstream creek of the Coomera River, providing a tranquil natural setting. Surrounded by lush greenery and shaded campsites, it’s an ideal retreat for families, friends, or solo travellers seeking relaxation or adventure. Conveniently located: 10 minutes from Movie World and Wet’n’Wild 15 minutes from Dreamworld 30–45 minutes to Gold Coast beaches 15 minutes to Mt Tamborine, with access to rainforest walks and waterfalls Enjoy the soothing sounds of the creek from your tent or 4WD setup. We offer three private, well-spaced sites with easy access to the water. Camp Guidelines: Fires are permitted in designated areas only and are subject to weather conditions and government fire bans. Firewood is available for purchase. Pets are welcome but must be controlled at all times. Off-leash is acceptable only if well-trained. As livestock are located nearby, pets must not interact with neighbouring animals. Please contact us to confirm pet breed(s). Wildlife: You may encounter cows, deer, kangaroos, wallabies, and occasionally koalas. Koalas roam freely throughout the valley—please do not approach or interfere with them, especially if seen on the ground. At Koala Creek Camping, we are committed to preserving the natural beauty of the area while offering a high-quality camping experience. Whether you're visiting for a short stay or a longer getaway, the peaceful creekside setting will make your stay memorable. You may encounter local wildlife including Snakes, Lizards, Cows, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Deer, and occasionally koalas. Cattle may cross the creek—do not approach or disturb them. Koalas roam freely and must not be interfered with. Guests must not cross into neighbouring paddocks, as this is private property and trespassing. This is a leave no trace, fully self-sufficient campsite—everything you bring in must be taken with you.

Great 3 spot camp ground by running swimming creek. Access by 4wd or game 2 wheel drive vehicle. Very little traffic noise considering proximity to main roads. We loved it.

My stay at Koala Creek camping was magnificent. A beautiful spot and easy to get to from either the Gold Coast or Brisbane for a short getaway. Whitney was great to communicate with and help me understand whether my vehicle was suitable to access the camping spots. Can't wait to come back here.

Great quiet spot by the creek with a nice flat campground and plenty of space to feel spread out. Love having the dog off-leash so she could run around. Great swimming in the creek to cool down and plenty of shady spots around the site as well.

I got to stay a few days here on my own, tranquil spot, nice shade under the tree and the creek running. The description needs to change as to the terrain in getting in and out with a shale road and a Tight bend which made it fun with a 15ft van on the back. Getting out wasnt easy having to floor it up the rock hill in the hopes to make the sharp turn at the top. That took 7 run ups. Great spot for camper trailers and tents I wouldn't recommend a caravan getting in. The morning I left it began raining and I knew I had an issue in getting a run up the grass to the road. So packed up in a hurry to try and beat it. A few days later copped a nasty message about a chocolate wrapper being left behind. I get it and it wasn't my intention but the nasty message wasn't needed especially at $60 a night. Would I recommend it…. There are other awesome hip camps

Absolute gem . This is a beautiful place with heaps of room/ privacy. Well looked after grounds, meeting place and fire pit along side a beautiful creek. Whitney was extremely easy to communicate with and directions were spot on. This is our go to place for a getaway from now on. Highly recommend koala creek
