We have a beautiful hobby farm on 2 and a half acres. Camping is at the front of the property where you will find vegie gardens and fruit trees. There is also a fire pit (plenty of firewood available), a trampoline and a games shed with toilet, shower and kitchenette facilities. Yes we live on the property and the campsite is in the front yard, however we do not infringe on your space at your campsite or the amenities area - these are yours and yours only whilst camping here. Bundaberg has attractions such as the Bundy Rum Distillery, Ginger Beer Factory, a free zoo, Mon Repos Turtle Centre, lower Great Barrier Reef cruises to Lady Musgrave Island for snorkelling, great beaches some with 4WD access. Gin Gin is on the main highway to head north or south. Easy access from here to National Parks for walks and 4WDing.
Being a hobby farm we have livestock in a paddock in the backyard. If you would like to join us for feeding in the afternoons please ask on arrival. Feeding happens between 4 and 6pm depending on time of year. We also have chickens that free range around the campsite at the front of the property who will happily take any of your scraps.

The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.

There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans.

The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.

communication, and we are also only 18km from Gin Gin and
around 50km from Bundaberg.

Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often.

Limited firewood is sometimes available. It can be bought at a reasonable price about 9km along the road towards Burrum Heads..
Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet.
Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities.
Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often.
Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants in the whole property. No overcrowding!
Looking for a special breakfast or brunch? Try Goody’s on the Beach, a 3-minute drive away at Toogoom for great waterside dining or Arkarra Gardens, 10 minutes away for a tropical rainforest dining experience.

As I was staying on my own I was able to set up a stretcher in the games room, and the industrial fan helped me survive a heat wave.

This was a great location for a peaceful break. A wonderful outlook across paddocks and a dam. A catch up with the cattle who were very friendly and keen for a feed. So quiet, with power and water as well as flushing toilet and strong shower. We cooked over the fire within the firepit and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful spot. Relatively easy River access (short climb down some small rocks). A bit of road noise but really not an issue. Lots of shady trees and picnic tables, benches etc. Fire pits supplied (half 44 gallon drums on stands. Greg is really friendly and helpful. Flat land.

It was in their front yard but they kept their space and was far enough away we could still play music. The shed was cool too, lots of games and stuff to do. Would recommend.

Great little place to use as your base camp while exploring the area. Even though you are camped in the front yard, the host leave you alone, but are happy to answer any questions. The shed was a great addition to the stay, with the teenagers playing darts, ping pong & watching TV. Thanks for the stay 😀

Great spot that was not too busy and other campers were friendly. Great spot to swim and relax as well as have a fire at night.

Great little camp area there’s about 6 sites right on the river with 2 big flat areas up the hill has a small boat ramp but only usable at high tide
The only down side we had was the usual clown that feels the need to run a generator all day apart from that was a nice spot

We had wonderful nights stay on Jennifer's amazing property. She was very friendly and we really enjoyed our chat. We will definitely be back next time we are passing though ..... hopefully for a few nights this time.
