HOSTING SELF SUFFICIENT CAMPERS ONLY 33 acres of natural bushland in various stages of regeneration, and all the solitude and privacy that comes with it. Minimal campsites (5 in total) ensure you'll be guaranteed of experiencing an immersion in nature. Awaken to bird sounds away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, listen to the waves of the ocean and watch the sun disappear over the tree tops. The camp is close to beach landscapes (3kms by road) , tidal saltwater creeks (4km), and estuaries, renowned for fishing, crabbing, and 4WD adventures. Situated near the sand track to Agnes Water, day trips are both fun and interesting. The maintained boat ramp (Flat Rock Picnic Area) is just 4 km away, providing a relaxing experience of a tidal creek. Access to Rules Beach is available during low tide only, offering opportunities for exploring rock pools and observing sea life. Travel north to the Broadwater or south to the mouth of Baffle Creek for a scenic drive. Rules Beach is a nesting ground for several species of endangered marine sea turtles. The Bush camp is headquarters for Rules Beach Turtles, a NFP charity dedicated to the preservation and protection of these species. They nest on the beach from November to March each year. Pitch your tent, park your van, or set up your camper in our mowed private tree'd space. My property is home to abundant birdlife, goannas, emus, and features a natural kangaroo corridor through the middle. Protected species rainbow bee eaters nest in the sandy fields at the front of the property. Choose shelter under a canopy of trees or opt for an open space to enjoy the coastal breezes. Six species of marine sea turtle, nest on the beach from November to March, 4.3 km away from the camp. Witness stunning sunsets over the canopy while listening to the soothing sounds of ocean waves. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Leave NO trace camping. Pets are allowed. *We have a large friendly dog that lives at the front of the property.

We had a lovely camp at this Hipcamp. Very easy directions from the host and well maintained site. The site had everything that was advertised and we found our stay extremely relaxing. It was lovely place to base ourselves for a few days as we explored the region. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and loved walking along the beach and around the camping areas with our puppy.

I accidentally ended up bogged on Nicky’s beautiful property (after rain). Not only did her & Daryl completely save my day! But I ended up staying the night in such a pretty spot with my dog. Can’t thank her enough for her help, advice & for making me feel so safe & welcome as a solo traveller!

A quiet off-grid bush block with bushland vistas. Plenty of birds and kangaroos. No fellow campers on the evening we stayed. The beach is a short drive away.

Rules Beach turtle monitoring and bush camp was something special. Wide open camp spaces meaning privacy for all in a beautiful bush setting. Perfect if you want to be away from the crowds of caravan parks. Dog friendly and the site is a few minutes from the beach. Nicki the host is very friendly and is an encyclopaedia of knowledge about the local turtle population. Baffle Creek is 16 minutes drive away with shops, great pub ‘zincalumbar’ with very friendly locals. 10/10

Private and peaceful we loved our 2 night stay. Absolutely beautiful bush camp, loved all the trees and natural surroundings. Enjoyed the bird life and the local Roos. So close to Rules beach which was a pleasant surprise we drove up and down the beach and had a great day exploring. Also checked out Agnes waters and 1770 while we were there. Excellent communication and we felt very welcome but loved the privacy. So many spots to camp. The fire pit was wonderful to sit around in the evenings. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again

The campground is beautiful with plenty of flat ground. Wherever we looked, we were met with stunning bush views. We could choose our own site, and there's so much space, you'll never be on top of other campers. Good communication, and easy to follow directions. Nicky greeted us and told us the story behind the campground and the developments she's made. A very tranquil spot.

We stayed three nights at Billabong Camp 1. Very peaceful and relaxing. Had the whole site to ourselves. Our dogs loved it. Very clean and tidy. Nicky was a great host and always responded very quickly to our questions. Dog friendly Rules Beach only a short drive away.

Enjoyed our stay, we were in our element. We love bush camping and we hasvacwhole area too ourselves and enjoyed a campfire, with cooking sausages on the hot coals. We will return in the future definitely.

What an awesome and peacful spot. Surrounded by conservation park all round means there is no one to be seen. Feels like you have the whole region to yourself. Massive campsites and just a very short drive and you are cruising up th grogeous Rules Beach. Ill be back for sure. Ps The fire keeps the Mozzies away.

Great little spot to chill out for a couple of days, heaps of room plenty of shade patches and sun to charge up batteries. Lots of birds and Roos that didn’t seem to mind our presence. Only a short drive to the beautiful rules beach. Will be back and would recommend to anyone who likes bush camping.

Ah, the serenity. Nicky had a large flat site freshly mown for us. Nothing beats bush privacy. She responded to any questions we had within a couple of hours. A great base from which to explore Baffle Creek, Deep Water NP and Rules Beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed tapping-out at Rest@Rules Beach. There is a Big4 caravan park 5 minutes up the road, but we were not interested in a cheek-by-jowl experience. We had the run of the 50 acres, and parked right in the middle, 😀. The beach is a good 5 minute drive (which we drove twice in our 3-night stay), and there is no creek or water body that we could find, but nevertheless, very private and natural. Recommended for anyone who is self-contained and wants to 'get away from it all', but also wants to be close to the beach. Is equidistant between Bundaberg and Gladstone, so we checked out Agnes Water/1770 while we were there. ☺️

🌾 Such a lovely place with old growth trees and well managed land to simply sit back and enjoy! We loved that it's so close to rules beach, and the river. With ample open and flat campsites this HipCamp is the ideal place to book in for a weekend or for a week! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Flat grassed camp sites amoungst the trees well spaced apart for privacy fire pits are provided at each camp. This was our second stay wont be the last so close to beautiful Rules Beach & Deepwater NP.

This spot is nice and quiet and great for off the grid no frills camping. You can hear the waves crashing at night when it's quiet and also hear lots of bird life.
