We totally fell in love with this hip camp. So quiet and peaceful. We could have a campfire, go bushwalking, spot amazing bird life., cook in a beautifullly appointed camp kitchen. There were hot showers and portaloos strategically placed around the 45 acres. The little shop had everything from tinned food to spare Anderson plugs (which Matt installed for us). We haven’t stopped talking about it since we left. Matt is the nicest friendliest guy. We will 100 percent be back.

Excellent place! We were only there for one night however the grounds were nice and flat and amenities were adequate. Nice river to do some fishing and boating. The hosts were lovely and very accomodating. Would definitely come back!

This is a great Hipcamp, close to the beach and 4X4 track through Deepwater National Park. Beautiful well maintained grounds they are also improving, and a hot shower and toilet was a huge bonus.. lifesaver. I loved the small lake and would camp here again when up this way. I also left a light behind and they are kindly posting this back to me. Above and beyond.

A really nice camping spot with easy day tripping to Deepwater national park. Nice little kitchen area and clean toilet. Pool was a bonus and the kids loved the animals and the chance to "help" out. Sarah was super responsive and always available to help out. Highly recommended and would revisit.

3 nights at Baffle Creek Goat Park

We loved our stay at Goat Park. The property has so many lovely spots you can set up and Sarah and Tony are fantastic hosts. Greeting us as we drove in and showing us all the different options we could park our van at where we could get power and water. They even provided us with a firepit and wood which we enjoyed each night watching the amazing star show away from city lights. The facilities are great, the pool is awesome to chill in and the rope swings provide great fun for kids plus there is also a communal firepit in the secret garden. The best part of our stay was bottle feeding the beautiful calves. Ebony, Ivory, Champs and Effie are so cute and so sweet. There are also lots of chickens, ducks, geese and Guinea fowl roaming around the property. We wanted a chilled Easter away from the crowds where we could bush walk, ride our bikes and relax and it was perfect. Thanks Sarah and Tony we will be back.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at bottom area 3. Huge, flat, private site of lovely green grass. Plenty of shade. We had our own portaloo toilet , which was clean and well looked after. We had a tap at the site for non potable water but very useful for washing hands and dishes. Shower was a walk up the hill, but was very well set up. Hot water was a treat! Plenty of bins at our site. Matt and Reen were lovely, friendly hosts who looked after us, bringing us fire wood and fire pit and letting us know there was a movie night. And Matt saved the day when we broke our fridge connection. The whole property is stunning, and very close to Childers. Fishing in the dam was fun. Our kids and dog had a great time adventuring. We will be back!

Lovely place and people, stayed for a few days to get away somewhere different before Easter. My kids had a ball seeing all the animals, in town itself everything is closed atm so have your goodies beforehand.

Weekend Trip to Big Rocks Bush Retreat

This was one of the best camping trips we've ever had. We were lucky enough to get one of the common areas completely to ourselves, so we spread out and enjoyed the magical surrounds. It was amazing to get (mostly) off grid and offline and explore the creeks and bush. John and Lyn were very helpful and hospitable. I loved meeting the animals and we'll definitely be back (next time with the kids!). Thanks again.

We had an amazing stay at this campground! The views of the river were absolutely stunning—waking up to the peaceful water and surrounding nature was a real highlight. Surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes during our trip, which made the evenings around the campfire even more enjoyable. We made great use of the boat ramp for some fishing, which was super convenient and well-maintained. The amenities on site were spotless and clearly well looked after, making the whole experience really comfortable. A big shoutout to Kenton, who went above and beyond to help us out when we had an issue with our boat. His friendly attitude and willingness to lend a hand made a big difference and really added to the overall vibe of the place. Highly recommend this spot—great location, great facilities, and even better hospitality!

4 nights at Beelbi Creek Stop & Stay

Exactly what we wanted and needed. Set up near the jetty, we were able to sleep, cook, fish and enjoy. 7 mins from sleepy Toogoom for morning beach walks and sightseeing. Shane was a friendly, hard working bloke with a great knowledge of the area and land. Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the beautiful weather and community. Thanks Shane for a perfect getaway. Loved Beelbi Creek and the surrounds.

3 nights at Paradise Lost on the Burnett

Great location bordering a larger creek and the Burnet River. Lots of sites but we'll spread out for privacy. Some are easier than others for water access if you plan on kayaks or paddle boards. Jennifer is a great host. Met on arrival and a farewell visit before departure. I can assure you, she must spend hours and hours on her ride on mower. All the sites are well mown with mown paths between then all, and all sites were clear of cow dung. Highly recommend for a peaceful few days away.

Absolutely beautiful! Really peaceful and quiet, there were kangaroos all around which was amazing. Facilities were great, really nice cooking area and BBQ! It is by a river so definitely take some mosquito/sandfly spray with you. Great location surrounded by some beautiful beaches, but honestly most of the time we just wanted to stay at the creek and enjoy it. Everyone working there was so welcoming and friendly and really went out of their way!

Arthur Creek Farm

Situated 45 minutes drive from Bundaberg, our 320 acre property has a small goat farm and 270 acres of bushland to explore. Take a walk through the trails or follow along the dry creek bed (seasonal). There are plenty of kangaroo, bandicoots, goannas, water dragons, koalas, and varieties of bird life to catch a glimpse of. We back on to Littabella national park where there is more to discover. There are 4WD tracks through Littabella National Park, take a half day adventure through the track to Rosedale pub for lunch and come home, making a complete circle. Trail bikes may be driven through the national park. We are close to Baffle Creek for excellent fishing. There is an annual family fishing festival in September. Or try Lake Monduran about a half hour drive where there is great fishing, kayaking and swimming. There are many state forests and national parks nearby to explore. 20 minutes to Rosedale, 30 minutes to Norval park Beach where you can 4WD during the winter months and see turtles nesting October to March, 20 minutes to Baffle Creek southern boat ramp at Winfield, or 40 minutes to Baffle Creek, 45 minutes to Bundaberg. 1 hour to Agnes Water. 2 hours to Hervey Bay. 5 hours to Brisbane. Guests are required to be fully self-contained with their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Free firewood, collect as much as you need from around the property. We have a small apiary, and our happy bees enjoy the tree blossoms way up in the treetops. They do produce plenty of yummy honey, so ask if we have any available.

Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

Not forgetting our beautiful K'Gari/Fraser Island. When exploring the area it is a must see and do. There are daily tours to K'gari that leave from River Heads which is less than a 20 minute drive from here. Maryborough is only a 25 minute drive from here and boasts some of the most beautiful heritage buildings and museums. They hold their street markets every Thursday. After all that exploring you can then come back and enjoy the serenity and reflect on the wonderful day you have had. Enjoy the adventure.

Bullyard Hall, Sports & Recreation Club Inc.

The town of Bullyard was developed primarily as a cane farming district in the late nineteenth century. The name, however, apparently relates to when a drover named CHARLES HOLMES was transporting bulls between Walla and Tantitha stations and he constructed a temporary yard for the bulls, hence "Bullyard". A railway station, called Kolan Railway Station, was erected in 1881 (on the Bundaberg-Mount Perry railway line, completed in 1884) and timber from the surrounding area was loaded onto trains there. Closer settlement, however, appears to have occurred somewhat later. A provisional school was established in 1901. Then becoming a state school in 1909 (and a new school built in 1933), reflecting a small, but growing population at this time. The district was dominated by cane farms supplying the nearby Bingera Sugar Mill. Bullyard Hall was built in 1908 by Samuel Kent on 10 acres of land purchased for that purpose. The hall was connected to electricity in 1952 and the hall was extended in 1957 with a bigger dance floor. Other additions included a stage, kitchen and ladies' room. The hall was repainted in the 1960s, with the exterior painted with linseed oil and burnt umber (giving the hall its distinctive appearance).The hall was, like other local public halls, used for social events such as dances. Movies were shown at the hall from the 1920s and it was also used for church services. Newspaper references from the 1930s through to the 1950s indicate the hall being used as a venue to sign up workers for the local cane crushing season.The hall grounds were also used for a range of sporting events. There are references to athletics competitions held at Bullyard from 1911 and the track was improved in 1913. A tennis club was formed in 1928 and tennis courts were constructed using crushed ant bed. Cricket was popular, so much so that the Cricket Club merged with the Hall Committee in 1930. Bullyard hosted cricket matches against local teams including Wallaville, Albionville, Gin Gin, Bucca and Bundaberg and the pitch was also constructed from ant bed, similar to the tennis courts.Bullyard Hall is located in the south-western corner of a 4 hectare reserve that in turn is located in the northern part of town on the eastern side of Bucca Road. A mostly circular fenced sports ground extends from the hall to the north and east. Most of the fenced, predominantly levelled grassed site has been cleared, some remaining scrub vegetation exists in the north and northeast and on the boundaries and it appears that the ring of trees on the perimeter of the sports ground have been deliberately planted.The hall consists of a low set weatherboard clad timber structure on timber stumps with a slight variation in height to level out the site and features a corrugated iron clad gable roof. An annex with skillion roof is attached on both sides of the main building. The main entrance is from the front via some steps onto a landing covered by a gable roof and through double timber doors. There are two casement windows on the façade, one at the main building covered by a straight window hood and a second at the right annex. The northern elevation facing the sports ground features a side entrance with access via some steps and three casement windows. On the southern elevation is another door flanked by two casement windows. A third annex, also with skillion roof, is attached at the rear of the hall. Three doors covered by an awning lead into this section. 1 large water tank is located towards the southern corner.A number of ancillary buildings are located in the vicinity of the hall, including a corrugated iron clad toilet block, stalls consisting of timber (including bush timber posts) and corrugated iron and a loading ramp.Men from Bullyard made a significant contribution to World War 1, indicated by the Honour Roll located inside the hall. In 2020 a water bore was placed on the grounds and in 2021 the hall had solar power installed, electricity wiring replaced, new meter box and sub box installed, refurbished glass windows, irrigation put in, 2 new water tanks and pumps purchased, smoke and heat detectors installed, security and spot lights installed.There are markets held monthly and fundraising events held throughout the year such as dances, bingo, car rally, a Halloween party to name a few.

A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore. Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient. Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure. Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too! Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

I. run a cattle grazing farm in Duingal, right on the Burnett River, 18km out of Gin Gin and 60km from Bundaberg. We have 100 acres of paradise with many sites to choose from, either along our 300m of Burnett river frontage or along the winding Duingal creek tucked into seclusion. For the bigger vans we have sites up on top of the property overlooking the Burnett with just a short walk down to the water. There are NO Ammenities available so own toilet is a MUST! Bring your fishing rods, kayaks and walking shoes. There's some great fishing here including barramundi, perch, yellow belly mullet, gar - and plenty of catfish to keep the kids entertained! Don’t have a kayak, no worries. We also have kayaks available for hire. We also have the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets here, with beautiful birdlife including hawks and water eagles. Great for bird watching and photography! All campsites have access to the water unless we are advised per booking. Less than 5km down the road you will find Wallaville where there is a great local Wallaville pub, and a corner store that offers great pizza. Telstra is available for communication, and we are also only 18km from Gin Gin and around 50km from Bundaberg. Campfires permitted in the designated areas only, bring your own fire pit when possible as we have a limited number of fire pits available. when fire restrictions/bans are not in place. Plenty of fallen timber around the place to collect for firewood. I suggest U bring wood for the ist night, In case it has rained & saves the hassle first up allowing U to chill out sooner 🥂 Well behaved pets welcome, but they must be kept under control and you must pick up after them. Midskinrick is a 40-acre waterfront property on Baffle Creek in Queensland. 70km north of Bundaberg, 125km south of Gladstone. This little piece of paradise, on the southern bank of Baffle Creek, is a great place to fish from the bank or launch your boat, crab, swim (in our dam), relax and enjoy the peace while watching the wildlife. Choose the unique modern self-contained Lodge or bring your caravan/camper/rooftop/swag/tent and book a camp site. There are 10 large family sized powered sites with a firebox available for each site (no water connection) situated near the dam. Access to, Hot showers (Small fee applies), Flushing toilets, Washing Machine (Small fee per load) and a Camp kitchen. The powered sites are approximately 400m from the riverbank. Confirming there are no water connections to these sites, please fill your tanks prior to coming, but fresh water is available for drinking. Select Powered. In addition there are 7 large family sized unpowered sites with a firebox available for each, overlooking the river flats - Septic flushing toilets, Shower room (solar bag not supplied), Drinking water, Camp kitchen area, Firebox - bring your own wood or purchase from the owners (please do not source firewood from the roadside due to animal habitats). Hot showers are available near the dam area for a small fee. There is no option to add power here. Strictly unpowered. Bring your kayaks, stand up paddle boards and other floating devices to enjoy in the dam, Push Bikes to ride the trails, bat and ball for a friendly game of cricket and a banana lounge to enjoy the peace and quiet.
