🐐 Animal interaction : The kids are welcome to pat and feed animals at any time, and you can purchase a large feed bucket for $10 so your kids can have endless fun interacting with the goats, guineapigs, ducks and chickens.
If you just can't get enough of the animals, contact us to see if we're running a farm tour on your dates where we take you behind the scenes (and fences) to meet our animals. Depending on the season this may include bottle feeding goats or cuddling baby guineapigs. These tours run based on availability and numbers so please reach out to express your interest. Adult $15/child $10.

33 acres of natural bushland in various stages of regeneration, and all the solitude and privacy that comes with it.
Minimal campsites (5 in total) ensure you'll be guaranteed of experiencing an immersion in nature.
Awaken to bird sounds away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, listen to the waves of the ocean and watch the sun disappear over the tree tops.
The camp is close to beach landscapes (3kms by road) , tidal saltwater creeks (4km), and estuaries, renowned for fishing, crabbing, and 4WD adventures. Situated near the sand track to Agnes Water, day trips are both fun and interesting. The maintained boat ramp (Flat Rock Picnic Area) is just 4 km away, providing a relaxing experience of a tidal creek.
Access to Rules Beach is available during low tide only, offering opportunities for exploring rock pools and observing sea life. Travel north to the Broadwater or south to the mouth of Baffle Creek for a scenic drive.
Rules Beach is a nesting ground for several species of endangered marine sea turtles. The Bush camp is headquarters for Rules Beach Turtles, a NFP charity dedicated to the preservation and protection of these species. They nest on the beach from November to March each year. Our nest monitoring program runs at this time.

Our ideal camp. Lots of open grassy space. Good views of nature in all directions. Lots of wildlife to observe. And absolute quiet (apart from the ocean). Short drive to beautiful rules beach for walking. Had the place to ourselves for 2 nights.

We enjoyed our first visit to Susan's farmstay camp grounds.
Susan is a lovely host, friendly n welcoming.
We walked around looking at all the animals, along to the fairy garden in the day n night time. We had a visit from 3 curious big kangaroos this morning.
We met a lovely couple camped in site 2, they have exact same names as my husband n I, that was trippy as. We gathered sticks n had a camp fire together..looking at the stars telling many stories of our travels..
I think the only thing we wished was available would be a dump point. Our toilet cassette filled on 2nd day..only place t empty is at gumtree lodge, at a cost t us or drive 20 to 30ks to Harvey Bay or matyborough n empty for free.
Anyway, we would recommend staying at Susan's farmstay, its peaceful,relaxing n you do hear bit of traffic noise from highway.or the train line .but didn't bother us in any way.
Shops of howard are close, visiting the witches mess shop, the bakery n OP shop was my highlight of my trip

Very nice experience staying at Susan and Vincent’s Woodlands HIP Camp. It was well located close to the local shops and not too far from Hervey Bay, Maryborough or Childers. It’s located close to the highway, so you can continue where you’re going without any fuss. I can’t wait to come back next year and see the progress made. Found this camp a few months ago and loved it as it was handy to everything and close to home , went back recently for a shakedown on the new van and was amazed with the work Susan and Vincent had completed. A lovely young couple with so many ideas and a lot of passion. The only worry I have is that too many will find this camp lol Wish them all the best
