You just have to check this hipcamp for yourself. The very kind host , Karen is a beautiful free spirit & so so accommodating. My wife & I stayed in the very comfy room at the end of Karen's private residence where we had our own newly renovated bathroom with soft white towels, soaps , shampoo etc...which was fabulous....also freshly cut gardenias on beside was a very nice touch. Access to the camp kitchen with full facilities & a living area/rec room was briiliant & sure makes for a great stay. Karen's surrounding garden was really beautiful...a long chat hanging over the front rail during our garden tour with Karen was delightful. Six campsites are available surrounding the ex- fish farm dams where Karen's horses & alpaca roam freely... Jalum is super relaxing...just up the road from Mooball where you'll find a beaut pub , Moo Moo Roadhouse for fabulous food , drinks & souvenirs Also popular there at Mooball is the rail trail with E bikes for hire. We enjoyed a gorgeous country drive with lush green hills crossing the NSW/QLD border from Murwillumbah through to Nerang...the amazing Beechmont Tavern was packed with punters to be entertained by back to back bands for a fun Saturday arvo/night... Lots to do in the area...even an old old railway tunnel to see on nearby Hulls Road to the Sth & just up the road to the Nth of Jalum on Pottsville Road is The Sleepy Barn where you can chill with a morning coffee or an evening cocktail along with delicious snacks/meals. 💯% score

We had the most magical stay at Karen’s beautiful farm in Jalum. She welcomed me, my husband, and our baby Link with such warmth and kindness. Her adorable dog Bunny and our pup Link became instant friends, sharing toys and running around the garden — such a joy to watch! The farm is peaceful and spacious, with few water body perfect for kayaking and small hikes that lead to stunning sunset views. The accommodation is cozy, clean, and full of charm — decorated with art, plants, and lovely personal touches that made it feel like home. Karen is a truly inspiring soul. She believes in self-sustainable living and generously shared fresh salad leaves, herbs, lemons,ginger, turmaric, lemonade, and her delicious gomashio. She even gifted me a pot of succulents to take home, which was so thoughtful. We cooked chicken in her oven and relaxed by the fire pit with logs she kindly organized. Her creativity, gardens, and strong yet kind personality left a lasting impression. Karen’s home is more than just a stay — it’s an experience full of heart and nature’s beauty. Great location, just outside of Eden, right on the beach. We stayed in one of the dog-friendly cabins by the creek, with two adults, two kids and the dog, and it was quite comfortable, and had everything we needed. Loved how the cabin had it's own fenced-in courtyard and private BBQ. Super friendly staff too. Would recommend!

We had an amazing stay! The beautiful gardens made the whole property feel peaceful and private. Our bedroom was super comfy and spotless with newly renovated bathroom, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved starting our mornings with coffee and breakfast at the cozy outdoor seating area, enjoying views of the mountains, dams and horses. Karen was very helpful with local tips and let us power our camper and fill our water tank, which made it easy to hit the off-road tracks again. Fresh flower arrangements and a basket of fruit and herbs from the garden were such a nice touch. Highly recommend — it was a perfect spot!

Had such a great time here - was perfect for families. Our daughter loved the playground and the pump track, and it was so nice being right on the beach. The cabin was very clean and even though we had one of the cabins further back on the property, we still had a nice water view. Lovely service from staff too. Will book again!

Karen's and her farm was just perfect for my daughter and I to escape for 2 nights. She has thought of everything. The amenities are spotlessly clean, huge kitchen and outdoor relaxing area. Karen went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Relaxing surrounds and only 25mins to Byron. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at cranky rock and are return guests. The hosts have poured so much love into creating a space that is full of character and comfortable for their guests. My husband, myself and our dog Millie were well looked after and loved that the hosts also went the extra mile to make sure we had a enjoyable stay we loved that the extra breakfast items they included of fresh eggs etc. Thank you once again for opening cranky rock up for us to stay on our journey back to Sydney. Cranky Rock Cottage was a delightful find! Nestled amidst stunning scenery, the cottage itself is beautifully appointed with a cozy and rustic charm. We particularly enjoyed the farm, views and hot tub. The location was perfect for exploring nearby historic towns and wineries. Pam & Lindsay are excellent hosts, kind and helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Cranky Rock Cottage for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

Lindsay and Pam have created a unique cottage set among the fields and mountains near Wollumbi. Lindsay has used his particular knowledge of historic building techniques to create a space that takes you back to the mid nineteenth century, with pull cord electric lights and hewn logs throughout. One of the highlights for me was the abundant bird life. The native vegetation planted around the cottage brings past a host of scarlet browed finches, wrens and black cockatoos. Well worth slowing down with a cup of coffee on the veranda.

Overlooking rural paddocks, and the river, you can enjoy the tranquility that a farming landscape has to offer. Perfect family holiday location. Town center is a 5 min drive or a short walk/ride, so access to town facilities and amenities is very convenient. Please refer to images for the latter. Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area. River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk. Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin! Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them. Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Atlantium is the only country you can drive to from Australia, making it a one-of-a-kind destination. Since acquiring our 200-acre pastoral estate near Reids Flat, NSW, in 2008, we've developed it as our ceremonial capital. Visitors can explore Government House (the Golden House), our post office, a pyramid, and various other monuments and buildings. Our facilities are entirely independent of the Australian power, gas, and water grids. Government House features a gas fridge, BBQ facilities, solar-powered lighting, a solar-powered induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, music system, television, and reverse-cycle air conditioning.
