Come and enjoy this creek front campsite in the heart of the Tweed Shire. Nestled on the banks of Doon Doon Creek, clear constantly running water with a large swimming hole awaits you!. The property is a 300 acre working farm with horses, cattle and a friendly dog named Wal. Campers are welcome to explore the many walking tracks on the property as well as the bordering national park. Just a 800 metres from Clarrie Hall Dam, spend your days picnicking and paddling amongst the stunning scenery. The dam is stocked with Australian Bass for a fun day's fishing. Take a 5 minute drive to Uki a township where you will find an abundance of arts and crafts, weekend markets and a host of alternative/natural therapy practitioners. You'll reach the larger town of Murwillumbah in just 15 minutes and the famous Byron Bay in under an hour. Explore the nearby Northern Rivers Rail Trail - 24km of trail through working farms, lush rainforest, wide bridges and original train tunnels. There is also a swimming hole with access 10m across Clarrie Hall Dam Rd in the constantly clear flowing Doon Doon Creek and the location is very picturesque. You’ll have this whole camp paddock to yourself and campfires are fine. Perfect spot to relax on a little creek or explore the area. It is 800m from Clarrie Hall Dam which is popular for non motorized water sports, fishing and hiking. Please note there are no facilities yet so you will need your own toilet. There is however, toilets 2.5kms up the road in UKI. Also note the gate is big enough for cars (and maybe a small camp trailer) etc but not for caravans or big Winnebago’s etc.

No need to pack anything but clothes, food, towel and maybe a nice wine or cold beer. This caravan by the creek has it all. The Van has recently been completely renovated boasting all the modern comforts including fridge, solar powered electricity, lights etc. It also has a fully equipped kitchen (running sink, cutlery, pots, pans, utensils, kettle, tee-towels, hand towels etc). Outdoor furniture under an awning with a gas cooker. Or take the chairs to the fire pit and cook on the open coals. Modern comfort in the great outdoors. You also have your own ensuite, composting camp toilet. All set on the banks of the fresh, clean and constantly running Doon Doon Creek. The Windmill Creek Campsite is 3 acres of lawn paddock with turfed creek access for easy swimming, bathing or fishing. There are only 2 other campsite further down and up the hill, so plenty of room to privately relax. Where you will sleep: there is a double bed and 3 bunk beds. Note: there is plenty of room on the site if you have family or friends joining you who are set up for camping. The Perfect spot to relax on a creek or explore the area. It is 800m from Clarrie Hall Dam which is popular for non motorized water sports, fishing and hiking.

Beautiful camp, well stocked caravan. We visited with 3 kids so the composting toilet was great to have, the creek was such a fantastic way to cool down and wash off.

The host is absolutely lovely and helpful, though the camper is closer to the road than we expected. There were also two other campsites fairly close. We enjoyed our second night best when we had the site to ourselves. There are some fireflies at the moment beside the creek which was absolutely magical. The caravan probably needs to be re-levelled again, it’s dipping to one side and would recommend bringing some blankets for the cooler nights (luckily we had some sleeping bags). Overall quite a nice little creek and area to stay, with almost everything you could need for a nice little camping weekend away.

The river camp was an awesome private little spot with a lot of potential to be fantastic. The ground was fairly flat and even for tents with plenty room for multiple tents. Loved it was pet friendly. Only things we didn’t expect was the creek has a closed fishing season and the Dam had an algae problem so no fishing no kyaking. A little maintenance slashing some of the border spikey weeds and long grasses would be nice but didn’t bother us too much. If the fishing and Dam are open this would be an amazing spot. Still had an awesome time Thankyou Bob

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The grounds were tidy and the views were beautiful. We saw some fireflies at night time which was really cool and listening to the creek running as we went to sleep was lovely. The campsite was fairly private however it was quite close to the road, so something to keep in mind if you have small children or dogs etc.

Great location and very private. UKI and its surrounding areas are a beautiful part of Australia and Windmill Creek is a great camp spot as well as a convenient base for day trips. Firewood available on site and all communication and directions from Bob were spot on 👍

Great host - checked in and flexible - Caravan was clean and tidy and more decked out than I expected inside. We forgot camp chairs - so remember to bring those! Magic walks up the ridge across the road on the farm - highly recommend for some incredible views.

Creekside Caravan
Had the most peaceful, beautiful stay here at Windmill Creek. Went for a lovely dip in the creek, walked up to the dam and there’s a hilltop view on Bob’s property that’s breathtaking. Would 100% recommend, I stayed in the caravan and it was super cozy, clean and comfortable! Wish I had more time here 10/10.

Lovely spot, took the family with our Jawa infinity to creek camp. Quiet and serene spot. Swimming, fishing, kayaking, campfire and space for the kids to ride bikes and play. 5/5⭐️ look forward to returning.
