Weekend Trip to The Ranch on Clarence

We loved staying in beddy blue at the Ranch. The whole experience was amazing, from turning up and being greeted by Jingles, 4 friendly dogs and a stallion, to staying in beddy blue which was super comfortable, to having a wood fired bath overlooking the river. Everything you need to have a relaxing stay was provided. We also added on a horse ride the following day which was outstanding. Shanti is very accommodating and easy to get along with, and we felt extremely comfortable on the horses she had picked out for us. We have mixed riding experience however the ride was exciting and enjoyable for both of us. We will definitely be back and look forward to doing so.

Great spot. Epic bird life. Also camp ground 1 is beautiful. My advise just when U think U cant go on any more keep driving. Also caught a rainbow trout whichadw for a delicious meal and great experience.

We booked a weekend at The Ranch for our daughter’s 10th birthday. She is a mad horse rider so was looking for lots of horse riding and time with horses! We had a fabulous weekend, and will definitely make plans to go back! Shanti was a wonderful and welcoming host, so knowledgeable and experienced with her beautiful horses. She catered to our unique needs as riders, matching us with a horse each to suit our experience. The troopy ride was thrilling, riding behind horses galloping in the wild was just the best! Shanti went out of her way to set up Beddy Blue for us and we loved the space, right on the river, fire bath at night, and private! She made us feel very welcome on her land and around her home. Thanks so much Shanti and see you again soon!

3 nights at BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay

We had a lovely stay at Bullock Camp. A field on a slight slope, overlooking a little dam, with wallabies grazing under the trees - the setting gave us the fresh air and open space we were looking for. The wood fired hot tub & sauna were an absolute bonus and such a novelty. Unfortunately the weather was pretty windy & wet so we didn’t explore the area & neighbouring national park as we had planned & we cut our trip short by a day. Merv was very welcoming & incredibly accommodating. He communicated well and was very generous in offering us his cut firewood (although there was plenty for us to collect ourselves). While we spent a fair bit of time under the awning out of the wet weather, we were spoilt with the bird life to admire around us! We didn’t use the shower & toilet facilities on the property as we were self contained in our camper trailer so can’t comment on the facilities. Getting to the property - the last km or two of the road up to the property was a bit rough - I would definitely recommend a vehicle with reasonably good clearance. We’d love to go back again in better weather to enjoy the surrounds but would definitely recommend a stay at Mervs!

We loved our stay at the Ranch. The property is incredible! Anyone who wants a great experience with dogs and horses MUST visit (ensure to do the Safari, seeing the entire herd running together is just something else)! I could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday weekend. Shanti is just the best host. Her horses and dogs are awesome (specially Mr Durango - I hope I am spelling his name correct), he was a delight and super fun to ride! Shanti well exceed our expectations in all aspects. I cannot wait to go back for more adventures and riding. Thank you xx

We loved camping at Jacob's Upper Nile family off grid. It was the perfect spot to balance nature, necessities and a few luxuries (hot showers,in and outside, flush toilets). The camp site was a great experience, close to Wallabies, safe place to make fire, etc. Jacob is a great host, went beyond what we expected . We'll visit here shortly again.

We had such a lovely time tent camping at The Nile! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and the space was perfect for our group. The soil was great for pitching tents, and we really appreciated the dedicated fire pit area. Having Wi-Fi available was a nice bonus too. Would definitely come back! 😊

A short drive of under 7 minutes takes you to the Murrumbidgee River on a sealed council road. There is a flat grassed picnic area and council gas run b-bques under cover. You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand. Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds. The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments. Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars! Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough. We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly. Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms northeast of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Big Bama and No 3 - you'll need to be fully self contained. There is a dump point in Moama. Toilets can be hired from Central Hire in Echuca. They can deliver it for you. Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

The hut sits (alone) within the eastern (10 acre paddock) of our property. There are no walls and so you have permanent views across the paddock to large sandstone cliffs and we are less than 30 metres from the riverbank. The Hut has a rustic tin roof, a large bench area with power points and task lighting. Tents or swags can be set up within the Colo River Hut. Or, if you wish, you can set up your tent or camper or small caravan adjacent to the Hut. There is plenty of room as there is a maximum of 6 guests (and 3 vehicles) with each booking. The Hut has a raised hardwood timber floor and enclosed composting toilet and hot/cold shower facilities. It also has ceiling fans for airflow and insect control. We provide a gorgeous shaded area under a large tree with valley views, with a large bbq table and chairs and fire pit (with grill) for your enjoyment. Firewood is also provided. Suitable for swimming, canoes, bikes, Bass fishing, and hiking, the Colo River Hut can be as active or relaxing as you wish. The Colo River Valley remains largely undiscovered, and is on the edge of the Wollemi wilderness. The Colo is fed by the Wolgan and Capertee Rivers. It has a long history and retains much of its' early unspoiled charm.
