Maiden Jewel Camping – 720 Acres of Country Camping Set beneath the spectacular Wingen Maid and Towarri National Park, Maiden Jewel is a 720-acre working horse and cattle property, approximately 20 km north of Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley. Surrounded by ironbark bushland, open grazing country and beautiful views, Maiden Jewel is all about getting away from the crowds and enjoying the space and freedom of genuine country camping. With 720 acres to choose from, we'll help you find a spot that suits you. Whether you'd like to tuck yourself away somewhere quiet or have plenty of room for family and friends, there's space to spread out and make yourself at home. There are kilometres of tracks and trails throughout the property to explore on foot or by pushbike or mountain bike, with plenty of wildlife and beautiful country to discover along the way. We also have several dams across the property, so bring your swimmers if you'd like to take a dip, or pack the fishing gear and throw in a line. Some of our dams are stocked with Silver Perch and Murray Cod. Maiden Jewel is a working property where we breed horses and cattle, so you'll get to experience a little of everyday country life during your stay. The property is also home to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, goannas, deer and an abundance of birdlife. Camping is off-grid and guests are expected to be self-contained, including bringing their own toilet and shower facilities. There is one portaloo centrally located on the property; however, depending on where you're camping, you may need to drive to access it. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead due to our horses, cattle and abundant wildlife. NOTE. Noise curfew 9pm this is a family campsite. If you want loud music and late nights this is not the place for you. Please note: BYO horse riding is not available through Hipcamp. Maiden Jewel Camping – 720 Acres of Camping Paradise Nestled beneath Towarri National Park with the spectacular Wingen Maid as your backdrop, Maiden Jewel offers 720 acres of beautiful Upper Hunter countryside to camp, explore and enjoy. Located approximately 20 km north of Scone, Maiden Jewel is a working cattle and horse property where you can escape the crowds, spread out and experience genuine country camping. With 720 acres to choose from, we can help you find a camping spot that suits you. Whether you want somewhere peaceful and tucked away, plenty of room for the family, or space for a group of friends camping together, there is room to settle in without feeling crowded. There are kilometres of tracks and trails throughout the property, perfect for exploring on foot or bringing your pushbike. Wander through open grazing country and bushland, take in the views or simply find a quiet spot and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. We have several dams across the property, so if you feel like cooling off you can take a dip, or bring your fishing gear and throw in a line. Some of our dams are stocked with fish, making them a great place to spend a lazy afternoon. Maiden Jewel is a working property, so horses and cattle are part of everyday life here. You'll also share the property with plenty of local wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, goannas, deer and an incredible variety of birdlife. There's plenty to explore in the surrounding area too, including the Washpools, Burning Mountain and the villages and attractions of the Upper Hunter. Maiden Jewel is true off-grid camping, and guests are expected to be fully self-contained with their own toilet and shower facilities. There is one portaloo centrally located on the property; however, depending on where you choose to camp, you may need to drive to access it, so guests should not rely on this as their primary toilet facility. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times to protect our livestock, horses, wildlife and other guests. Come for the space, the views and the fresh country air. Explore during the day, take a dip or throw in a line, then sit around the campfire at night and experience the freedom of 720 acres of country life at Maiden Jewel.

Beautiful property, respectful fellow campers, amazing views. Easy to get to either Murrurundi or Scone for supplies. We cancelled our plans - the actual reason for passing through Scone - to spend more time relaxing on the property.

Camping at Maiden Jewel was lovely. The site was big so even with a few campers there were lots of privacy. It was easy to navigate to and no problems with a 2wd vehicle. The hosts were welcoming and made sure we found a good spot and had a good time. The portable toilets were also very clean.

We absolutely loved our stay here . We pulled up by side the dam and it was a tranquil picture perfect spot. We were joined by the horses coming down for a drink . Unfortunately our stay was too short to explore the whole property but we aim to return in future . Jane was a great welcoming host .

This was our shake-down trip for our new caravan, and Maiden Jewel Camping surpassed anything we could have hoped for!! Camped right at the dam (the waterhole), saw deer, kangaroos, wallabies, rabbits and foxes. Bushwalking tracks galore.... just beautiful. Jane was super friendly and helped us straight to site. We had an awesome time!!

What a great campsite. Quiet and relaxing by the waterhole. The hosts were so accommodating and helpful. They offer a lot of activities on their property. The instructions to get there were easy to follow and even though we got there late they were great communicators. Jane and her daughter stopped for a chat when they dropped firewood off for us. Definitely will return.

The nights were wonderfully quiet, making it the perfect escape from the rush of everyday life. I slept better here than I have in a long time, with only the sounds of nature in the background. What really made the stay exceptional was the host’s generosity. From thoughtful touches in the accommodation to warm, genuine hospitality, it was clear that every detail was considered to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Maiden Jewel is beautiful natural Australian bush mixed in with stunning camping areas The horses are amazing, too have the cattle wondering freely about the property is spectacular And the natural wildlife all around it doesn’t get much better. We will definitely be back

Maiden Jewel was so peaceful. A wonderful place to get away. The property is huge with heaps of great camping places so you feel like you are alone. Lots of trails to walk & total peace & quiet. Loved it. Jane was great & met me on horseback to show me to the waterhole where I camped.

We really enjoyed this very peaceful and scenic location and the fact that there was so much open space gave us all lots of privacy. It was conveniently located close to Scone but still very much 'in the country' with good road access with our caravans. We loved being able to have a fire and enjoyed the variety of birds and wildlife that were wandering around. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks

If you want to do nothing, it would be a great place for you. Its a good place for someone who wants to sit and enjoy their beers The rule is the rule, but sometimes they still complain about noise before 10 p.m.!!! Apart from this nature is awesome
