'MOD VE LA' is one of the privately owned caravan cabins in the amazing River Island Nature Retreat Village. It is a caravan plus large annex and deck providing spacious inside and outside areas to relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located next to Reddy Creek and the bush reserve, this rustic cabin has its own fully kitchen with gas stove/oven, lounge area with fold our bed, separate bedroom nook with comfy queen bed and external undercover dining and extra cooking area This cosy cabin has a full kitchen, lounge and sleeping nook plus large, covered deck. The cabin DOES NOT have its own toilet but does have an outside hot water shower. Guests are welcome to use the park's modern and clean communal shower and toilet facilities located nearby and open 24/7. Linen in NOT provided so you will need to bring your own sheets / sleeping bags / donnas etc, but the main bed has a mattress protector. Linen hire is available from reception at $30 per set ( queen size bed ) This cabin is managed by K2 River Island which means you have access and use of the parks' pools and games area. There is on onsite shop that sells basic essentials such as bread / milk etc so we recommend to arrange and BYO food and drinks !

Inside Villa De Wit, you'll find a comfy queen bed with fresh linen, a sofa bed for extra guests, and a full working kitchen so you can whip up your favourite meals. Just 10 metres from your door, shared hot and cold showers and toilets are ready when you need them. After a day of exploring, unwind in the lounge or step out onto your verandah with a BBQ- perfect for coffee at sunrise, a lazy afternoon read, or a relaxed dinner under the stars. Villa De Wit is amongst a number of cabins on a stunning 2000-acre property with the Wollondilly River flowing through it, offering plenty of 4WD opportunities to cross the river and discover all this beautiful land has to offer. We also have access to Wollondilly River Nature Reserve right on our doorstep, with some wonderful cascades and walking trails to explore. Plus, a plethora of wineries are only a short drive away, perfect for wine lovers looking to sample local flavours.

Thank you Kayne for such a memorable stay. Very family-friendly including a wonderful swimming pool, games room and even movie night! The staff were very helpful and we loved waking up to kangaroos hopping around our tent!

I loved the place, the photos are just not good enough for the place. Stunning lake where you can do kayak, lots of green space; facilities like bbq area, a pool, jacuzzi, pool tables, ping pong, etc The only bad thing, at least for me, is the cold cold water in the showers; other than that, it was perfect, the host was super nice as well.

Great location. But very busy over Easter long weekend. We arrived on the Sat (our mistake) and were left with the dregs in terms of available sites. But once most people left on the Sunday and we were able to enjoy the space more it was great. The drop toilets closest to camp sites were a bit of a let down. Again, maybe just due to the peak Easter period.

Remote, calm, and natural camp sites by the slow moving, swimmable river. Kind and helpful staff. Long, steep, dirt driveway - fine with AWD Subaru. Fantastic wildlife. I had a great time and would love to return!

Campsite by the river is such an unbelievable spot. The river is great for a swim. The campsites facilities are good and clean. The terrain on the way into the camp is pretty rough. I would recommend only going if you have an SUV.

We loved this camp! Although the roads coming in were a bit rough and anyone with a 2wd or low car should be prepared for, the destination was lovely. The facilities were great, clean and tidy, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Incredible experience and camp site! Facilities 10/10 Area 10/10 Hosts 10/10 Could not have asked for more! The river is stunning and beautiful to swim in, kangaroos everywhere which was great for us as we had family with us visiting from Ireland! It is down a very steep entrance! Took about 20/25 minutes to get to the campsite in our RV - AVOID if in a motorhome! But the hosts were amazing and assisted us in everyway they could! Would absolutely recommend and will be back in smaller campers!😂

Do not come here if you don't have a FWD or someone that knows how to FWD. It is an incredible place with very friendly staff and beautiful amenities and a pool, great price for the experience. We brought a Mitsubishi Express van down the very steep and very windy dirt track and she barely made it down and back in one piece, I would not recommend bringing an RV or non-FWD van/bus down here, and especially not a camper trailer. Still absolutely stunning and would recommend to anyone that can handle it.

It's a beautiful place and worth the drive. Be sure to pack food that you can cook or put in the fridge or heat. There's 2 patches of road towards the end that are a bit rough but nothing my tiny MG couldn't handle. It's a great place. Lots of other things to do as well like pool, billiard, table tennis. Shared bathroom area is very very close and very convenient. Plenty of water. The help there is a pure gentleman and happy to help off times as well. It was a great trip overall.

Beautiful, and lots to do. Facilities clean and well maintained. Tons of wildlife to see right onsite. An extra huge thank you to Manuel who went above and beyond, helped us get our camper trailer in and out of the valley. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Friendly and welcoming staff, and a lovely campsite right next to the river with kangaroos around. Since the sites are not marked, it can get quite crowded and close to neighbouring tents during peak season. Still, it’s a beautiful spot and a great place by the water.

Great camping site by the river. The kids enjoyed the pool, and walking through the national park to platypus beach was an easy hike. The road in is challenging but not impossible for 2WD cars - we made it in an old sedan, but a 4WD or SUV would handle the drive a bit easier. K2 is a great place to switch off from the outside world - literally - there is no mobile signal. But a free phone is available. I would definitely consider staying here again

Great campground once you're there, host is great and very friendly. we enjoyed our time. However rough 3km 4wd road in. Some really steep tight corners in sections Personally we wouldn't recommend for towing vans over 20ft

K2 River Island Nature Retreat was a beautiful location that really did feel miles away from everyday life. A long and rough 4WD track leads into the campsite. We camped on the unpowered sites along the river which would have been beautiful except it was so, so busy (Easter long weekend) and had loud partygoers which took away from the peaceful environment I'm sure it usually is. Toilets were close by but showers were a bit of a hike.

Really lovely campsite and facility’s. Hosts were accomodating and showed us different trail walks we could do. Lots of walks to see wild kangaroos and great location right beside a beautiful river.
