Young Macdonald’s Farm is 100 acres in the Shoalhaven region on the NSW South Coast. It’s a family farm that was historically dairy-based but is moving to regenerative agriculture. Your hosts are Mac and his parents, Gina and Shawn. The property is at the base of Brown’s Mountain, 15 mins from Nowra and the Shoalhaven River, 30 mins from beaches, 15 mins from Berry, and 20 mins from Kangaroo Valley. It boasts private and secluded spaces for camping, two creeks, and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We want to share the farm experience and encourage you to be a part of our adventure as we begin this new chapter of a six-generation family farm on traditional Wodi Wodi land.

4. The Old Dairy
Shawn, Gina and Mac’s Hipcamp was fabulous! We stayed at the Old Dairy and it was the perfect site especially since the days were wet wet wet!!! The all weather room provided us with a simple and warm place to retreat to and the composting toilet was a total win! We experienced a great deal of hospitality from Shawn, Gina and Mac during our stay- providing us with easy access to firewood, checking up on how we were going and allowing us to feed some of their animals! We will be returning, cannot recommend enough!

Beyond their incredible property, Gina was the most accomodating and friendly host we have had the pleasure to meet. The camp sites were also secluded and well equipped. We will definitely be back

1. Up the Hill
Beautiful campsite- each plot is private. Situated in a great location close to kangaroo valley and the coast. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming! Would love to stay again in the future!

2. Over the Creek
The host was absolutely great. Very friendly. Anyone visiting Over the creek, it is a beautiful space, quiet and private. I would urge people to be prepared for flies and better to have a 4WD to access the campsite. Otherwise, it would be a lot difficult to carry all stuff to the campsite. I think the bbq facilities available could have been cleaned as we could see that it was not cleaned and rusty.
