Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available. Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent. Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please BYO firewood. Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit. Children 16 & under stay for free. Please notify host if you are bringing children. Please be careful and supervise young children near the water.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Loved our stay at Fern Valley Ranch! The converted bus was charming, well equipped, and very comfortable, with lovely soft beds. The location was beautiful, with an orchard on one side and a short walk to the waterfall. Jenna and Jiji were friendly and helpful, and the whole property is exceptionally well maintained. Yet again this place did not disappoint!! Tiny house accommodation was A1 as usual, the views spectacular and having a visit from Kristy to top it all off. You guys are always so accommodating and it was great to have a chat. Leaving on Sunday morning is always hard and this time our furbabies were very somber too.....we will return to this beautiful location again and again!!!

‘The Nile’ is an absolutely amazing property in the phenomenal Capertee Valley. We booked a campsite and also this cabin for my parents and it was fantastic. The cabin was beautifully appointed, very comfortable in the middle of winter, quite handy to our campsite for walking but completely private. We are planning on coming back and using the cabin ourselves when it’s a little bit warmer so we can try the outdoor fire spa!!!

Our second time staying at Fern Valley Ranch but this time we brought the village and booked out the bus, new tiny home and surrounding camp sites which catered well for all families with varying requirements. Was a thoroughly enjoyable stay with clean and accessible amenities and plenty of activities for the kids - manageable hike to the private waterfall, farm tractor tour, daily farm fresh eggs, orchard walk and of course, fire! HUGE shout out to Jiji who was so patient and accomodating throughout the booking process, with lightening speed responses. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next stay.
