Lake Tawakoni State Park
Five miles of park shoreline for water-based activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating.
Thanks to the brilliant minds who manage this 376-acre state park, you can have it all. Moderation, though, is still key. With limited fresh water in the area, resource management keeps a keen eye on how much water is used here.
Luckily for visitors, this park offers five miles along the shores of Lake Tawakoni to take advantage of. Water-based recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating are all the rage here. There are more grounded leisures too like hiking trails to explore, geocaching and bird watching to enjoy.
You can reserve campsites that feature full hookups along with a fire pit to cook and keep warm. There's also one primitive group campsite that holds up to 48 people.
