Description

It doesn’t even matter where you stay at Purtis Creek because you’ll be on the water all day, right? Ya gotta rest your head somewhere though, so here’s the campsite DL: nature buffs can camp in the buff at any of the 14 primitive sites (hike-in .65 miles) available east of the main campground. Five walk-in sites (hike-in 10-15 yards) are desirable if you’re looking for a little more solitude, and if the walk-in sites aren’t available, chances are you’ll opt for one of 59 sites in the main park campground that offer water/electric, a picnic table, 3+ mi. of nearby hiking and biking trails, and best of all: lakefront props!

Love this place. We’ve been several times. A few times at the primitive sites and a few at the water/electric sites. Always in tents. Great sites. Lots of shade. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms and showers. What’s not to like?

Watch out for the raccoons. Lots of them. Keep food locked up and it's all ok.
