Peace & Solitude

5 sites ¡ RVs, Tents121 acres ¡ Newport, OR
Our Private Land is located in Newport Oregon. Daily you can hear the ocean roar and smell the fresh air off the water. It is a forest area accessible by trails that all link together. There is also a very nice trail off our land to a nearby city trail that will lead you to Agate Beach. You will see coastal evergreens and deciduous trees with all sorts of other bushes and flowers that you typically find along the Oregon Coast. Some of the wildlife on the land such as blacktail deer and many species of birds are seen and heard on most days. You will see breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, the Yaquina Bay Bridge, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and Big Creek Reservoir. These landmarks can be seen randomly throughout your walk on the trails and from the campsites. There are beautiful sunsets and sunrises. On a clear night you can see the constellations, undisturbed by city lights. Our property provides a lot of room to be by yourself. Hammock, book, write, read, and my favorite... take a nap. A place of peace and solitude away from the public.

Celestine Fields

10 sites ¡ RVs, Tents20 acres ¡ Carlton, OR
Learn more about our land: In the heart of Willamette Valley AVA and on a breezy 20-acre lot of land we provide a space for you to set yourself up and enjoy life's natural bounty. We offer a small shared space with a wood fire stove and some essential items, many games (such as horseshoes), and lots of picnic areas and tables sprinkled throughout the property. The location is central and half an hour to just minutes away from water bodies Hagg Lake, Nestucca River, Yamhill River, little Niagara Falls, Mill Creek, Baker Creek, Rainbow Lake and more… Such as the Carlton public pool. If your looking to jaunt from camp a little further, we are located a little over an hour and a beautiful drive to the Pacific Coast and about an hour from Portland. Although in the middle of the country woods, we are surprisingly only two and a half miles from the adorable and quaint town of Carlton. So beside the views, you’ll be alongside some fantastic eateries and outstanding winemakers.  Being raised in the community, and over ten years of experience in the local food and wine industry, I can give recommendations aplenty.   ꕥ  The property has been in our family since the late 60’s and has recently been transferred in ownership to the next generation! It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. In hopes to carry on the legacy we opened up camp mid-summer 2021, and it’s a work in progress (as work normally is!), but has been a beautiful experience being in a position to share. There are two family homes on the property with people who truly admire this land we have been given so we do ask you to respect our process in this adjustment, as we miss our grandparents and parents who have worked their entire lives for us to be here. With the work of these past couple seasons, and thanks to our fellow campers, we have been able to lay more gravel, get a more fluid bathroom situation established, and have purchased a 20ft stargazing tent that is in the works of being listed this season! So thank you for your support in this venture and in any form, I’m excited to be apart of your adventure and hope to see you in our neck of the woods soon! ❊ ❁ ❊  - Whitney

Riverwood on the Siletz

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents1 acre ¡ Lincoln Beach, OR
It's been a wild winter on the Siletz but, spring is right around the corner! We have our property all spruced up for our campers! Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). The Riverside site has a fire pit and a deck for viewing the river. The Riverwood site is away from the river bank about 100' and sits under beautiful, large spruce trees. It is a short walk from both sites to our ramp and dock to be on the river. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests, Yay! We have an apartment in the downstairs of our house, about 150' walk from both campsites. It has a kitchenette with a barista bar, microwave, small fridge, a small living area, private toilet and shower. (bring your own towels, soap, etc.). We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. PLEASE NOTE.....We didn't realize how popular our Bunkie would be so to avoid double booking and disappointing our guests, we will keep you posted on the availability. The Glass House IS currently AVAILABLE these dates: AVAILABLE: April 6-30th May 1-24th June 1-18th July 1-3rd July 8-23rd August 23-29th September 4 on into fall The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. Bring your Kayak or SUP to explore the slow moving river (or rent ours!). Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds, Beavers early in the morning and evenings. Our resident River Otters have been very active the past couple of years. You'll see them in the morning and evenings swimming, playing and munching on Crawdads. There are Deer although we seldom see them on our property but, they are across the river. There is a huge heard of Elk down river. Our property is about a 10 minute drive along the beautiful Siletz River to the Ocean/Hwy 101, south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process and the property: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message with the physical address to the property and the instructions on how to navigate the property once you are here. There is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the 2 camp sites. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. A little about the property and us: We purchased this property 10 years ago. It is about an acre total that includes where our house sits and the 3 adjacent lots where our Hipcamp sites are. The property and house had sat vacant for 3 years prior to us finding it. It was a mess, all overgrown with blackberries, moss, etc. We spent the first 3 years cleaning up the house, apartment downstairs and clearing the property so it was usable. Back in the 30's and 40's this stretch of the Siletz River was called Mack's Landing. The original house where there was a gas station and mercantile is still here just SW of here. There were small fishing cabins along about 500' of riverfront where people would come to fish. WE still run into the concrete foundations from time to time. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river...somewhere...when we came across this property. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Rick is an avid fisherman/hunter while Debbie enjoys kayaking, gardening, reading and watching the river go by. Thanks for checking us out! Debbie and Rick and our two Cattledogs, Luna and Piper

CLOSED FOR THE SEASON - CHECK BACK NEXT YEAR! Timbersands is an up and coming 52 acre organic farm on the Oregon Coast, I started this project in 2022 with the goal of growing fruits and vegetables year round, with the help of greenhouses and the temperate coastal climate. Enjoy a dispersed camping atmosphere without the hassle of neighbors right next door. Please note there are free range chickens and other farm animals, as well as wild elk and deer. The best camping near Cape Lookout State Park guide

Overview

About

Set on the Netarts Spit beside Netarts Bay on the Oregon Coast, Cape Lookout State Park attracts campers (and day-trippers from Portland) with its Pacific Ocean views, miles of hiking trails, and ample opportunities for beachcombing and whale-watching. The North Trail and South Trail segments of the 425-mile-long Oregon Coast Trail also run through the park and are accessible from the day-use area. For especially spectacular views, it's worth hiking the five-mile (round-trip) Cape Lookout Trail, which leads through old-growth forest all the way to the edge of the cape. The Cape Lookout Campground offers traditional tent sites and full hook-up sites for RVs, as well as yurts, deluxe cabins, picnic tables, flush toilets, and hot showers.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve one of the park's 200-plus tent sites, RV spots, cabins, and yurts in advance using the Oregon State Parks' online reservation system.
  2. Online reservations open six months in advance (at 6am each day) and can be made up to a day before your arrival.
  3. If you aren’t finding dates that work for you, you can set up an online alert to be notified in case of cancellations.
  4. Last-minute reservations are occasionally available on a walk-up basis at the state park campground.

When to go

Cape Lookout State Park is open throughout the year, though the best time to visit is in late summer, when the weather is pleasantly warm. Opt for weekday stays, if possible, to avoid crowds. The best times for whale-watching are in late March until early June and again mid-December through January, when grey whales make their annual migrations between Alaska and Mexico.

Know before you go

  • Cape Lookout is a 10-minute drive to the community of Netarts and a 15-minute drive to the Tillamook (of Tillamook cheese fame). Both towns have restaurants and supermarkets selling food and camping supplies, while firewood is sold right at the campground.
  • The campground has one ADA-accessible cabin, two accessible yurts (with ramps), and two accessible campsites.
  • Leashed dogs are welcome at the campground, and three of the cabins and six of the yurts are pet-friendly. Leashes are not required at the beach just north of the campground.
  • Due to wildfire risk, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department sometimes puts temporary bans on campfires and even the use of fire rings and propane stoves, particularly in summer months.
