The most perfect relaxing getaway
Cannot say enough great things about this spot. In fact, I almost don't want to say anything so it stays a little bit more secret. The cabin is the most perfect cozy spot on the water you could ever want. You walk in and you are right at home, even the fur kids. Every amenity you could possibly want, down to the throw blankets and dog beds. The 2nd story covered porch was exactly where we wanted to be when we were not paddling out on the water. Yard was so great for the dogs...my husband and I just had a blast and we are already planning our next trip back. Thank you for having us!
Relax and enjoy !!
My family and myself had a wonderful time on the lake during 4th of July week. Loved waking up to birds chipping and the view of the lake ! The cabin was perfect had everything we needed to have a relaxing time . Thank you so much to the host they were amazing well definitely will be back !
This place is fantastic!!! I don’t want to give it such a great review because I want to keep it all to myself!! Had a wonderful time. The water , kayaks, the bbq, the fire pit...never cared about a tv (and it had one of those too).
This place has it all and then some. Memories made! Will definitely be back!
Very peaceful retreat on the medina
This is a real peaceful and relaxing place to stay giving you a wonderful chance to get away. There are lots of things to do if you like to swim, fish , hike, kayak etc. But you can do as much or as little of this as you want. Abundant wildlife all around the cabin so we kept lights off to enjoy the evenings on the big porch upstairs or on the deck beside the river. Cabin was well furnished so we just cooked the food we brought and barbecued. Love this place, we will be back.
Spring break at boulderdash 2020
Wow, just wow. When they say they have everything you need to enjoy your stay believe it. I'm one of those people that brings "the kitchen sink" when I vacation. I love to cook and make detailed lists of everything I need to bring from ingredients to utensils to crockery. The kitchen is fully stocked as far as pots, pans, utensils, dish soap and other necessities. The fridge had all kinds of condiments and cupboard had spices one would need for cooking. Ice packs in the freezer for your beverages in your cooler for down by the river are a plus.
The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. I loved the soft feel of the sheets on my sunburned skin after sitting on a rock in the middle of the river for hours enjoying the peaceful serenity and natural vitamin D. I'm on permanent hot flash so the ceiling fans in every room plus 2 on the porch made my stay so much better.
Wifi is spotty and best on the porch so I suggest putting down your electronics and get back to the old days where family communicates via their mouth or hand signals. There is a nice collection of dvds to choose from if you aren't too tired from the outpdoor activities. I recommend Clueless...lol.
The gas stove/ oven is wonderful to cook on. We had a shrimp boil one night and yes, they had a huge stock pot for the occasion.
Plenty and I mean plenty of bath towels and washcloths to go around. Don't over pack because they have a nice washer/dryer combo in master closet.
I never wanted to leave the porch. The view was fantastic. The sounds of birds chirping was nature's music. I loved sitting outside with my morning joe before the nephews began their chaos. The chairs are so comfy you want to close your eyes, forget about everything and just listen.
Now, the driveway is steep so I recommend pulling close to steps to unload and then turning around and parking so you are facing straight up the drive when you planning on leaving.
I'm adventurous at heart so we explored the "neighborhood" and took the paths less travelled.
There is a little store that has snacks, adult beverages, lotto, gas and even a dining area for food they serve so there's that if you don't feel like driving 10 miles to town.
My only wish for the cabin would be this: we bring lots of dry and can goods so a rack to stow all that would be nice, not a necessity, but nice. I pack our stuff in banana boxes because they are strong and stack well.
This place is golden. Everything you need. All the nature you can handle. And the scenery is priceless.
Oh and the kids had a great time, too.
