RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

Heavily wooded acreage with goats, horses and donkeys. There is no light pollution and if there are no clouds you can see the stars very clearly. We have a ton of wild birds. Owls and Cara Cara are common. There are deer, feral hog and two resident packs of coyote. We also have ring tail cats, which are nocturnal and rare. The best seasons are October 1st thru the end of April. It gets VERY hot and dry in the summer and can just be miserable. We have a shared bathroom and an outdoor shower and tub. If you are a single woman or a family with children, we don't take other bookings while you are visiting the farm. You will have the place to yourselves. The only exception being my family and I, if we are working or staying over at the farm. We should have a second bunkhouse up and running by fall of 2025. If you are tent camping, you may camp anywhere on the property but there are certain spaces that may make curious horses your roomies.

This space is perfect for any family celebration, reunion, birthday party, ect! It is tucked away at the bottom of the property so you get the space to yourself. Guest access When you arrive at our house you will park in our circle driveway and walk through the double green gates down the hill to the glampsite. (To the left past the house) The road is slippery/steep so please use the steps. Backpack recommended for easier up and down! You can roll a cooler down the (steep) road! Other things to note Each of the four bell tents are equipped with an AC unit, beds, heater, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, electrical outlets, twinkle lights, and a lantern. Heavily wooded acreage with goats, horses and donkeys. There is no light pollution and if there are no clouds you can see the stars very clearly. We have a ton of wild birds. Owls and Cara Cara are common. There are deer, feral hog and two resident packs of coyote. We also have ring tail cats, which are nocturnal and rare. The best seasons are October 1st thru the end of April. It gets VERY hot and dry in the summer and can just be miserable. We have a shared bathroom and an outdoor shower and tub. If you are a single woman or a family with children, we don't take other bookings while you are visiting the farm. You will have the place to yourselves. The only exception being my family and I, if we are working or staying over at the farm. We should have a second bunkhouse up and running by fall of 2025. If you are tent camping, you may camp anywhere on the property but there are certain spaces that may make curious horses your roomies.

After a lifetime of travels, we are now (since 2019) settled down in the Texas Hill Country. We started out with 5 of us in a travel trailer in the woods, and have slowly carved out the Groot’s home. Living in an area that was once subdivided to provide camp sites for people coming to enjoy Medina lake, it only seems right to make our land available for people to do just that. Enjoy. Learn more about this land: Peace, quiet, and nature are just 30 minutes from San Antonio loop 1604. You will find our back yard travel trailer and surrounding camp site tucked away in a little forest of Elm trees. Surrounded by scrub brush and with our container workshop as a privacy wall you will enjoy the feeling of having your own space as you enjoy some relaxation around a camp fire or in the hammock. We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work. 7/10

Absolutely everything is what you would expect. This was an oasis hidden in an unexpected place. I came for solitude and a menu for each meal, just to toss is out of the window and explored the eateries within distance (thanks Tamara!). I absolutely loved this camper! Private location, very well stocked, and the little deck with the comfy furniture was perfect first thing in the morning. I have watched deer while sipping coffee, lazed on the couch under the umbrella enjoying a nice breeze, and cooled my feet in the river in the late morning. It was the relaxation I needed with just the right amount of space. Alright TLDR is over so here is the breakdown. Pros: ~VERY WELL STOCKED for the most part (dishes, tea pots, towels, washcloths, even a outside sink for room to wash dishes, ect.) ~ gas stove (just remember to turn it on) ~ fantastic distance from the river ~ beautiful views (especially nighttime for stargazing) ~ Comfy furniture! Legit wanted to nap outside in good breeze. ~ Privacy! I could only see one cabin unless I went to the main camp grounds. ~ Public area's are also well stocked and taken care of Cons: ~Only one pot to cook on. There was a griddle as well but I didn't test it. Absolutely would have grilled outside if there wasn't a burn ban. ~ The path to the restrooms wasn't well lit but you're out in nature get a headlamp. ~ One of the showers uses the hooked latch that kept slipping if the door was bumped. There was twine to help hold it in place but please someone get that fixed with a more secure latch.

What a beautiful property! Kasey was so nice and showed us around, made sure we had plenty of wood, and made us feel right at home. The stars were bright and the tent was very comfortable! Learn more about this land:Tom Dooley’s Hideout is located at the Gateway to the hill country, just minutes west of Dripping Springs off of hwy 290. It’s a unique 4 acre property with 5 modern tiny houses that sit on open range with free grazing livestock which occasionally show up as they do not belong to us. This tiny house comfortably sleeps 2 on a queen bed but we do have a sofa/futon thats great for kids. Enjoy sitting on the porch or at the picnic table under the trees to kick back and relax on a cool evening. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO HAVE A TWO NIGHT MINIMUM ON WEEKENDS Each tiny house has a keyless code entry system in which a personal code will be set up and sent to you prior to your check in. In the case that there is an issue with the key pad we do have a manual key so that you will always be able to access your tiny house. Pets are always allowed but we do charge $40 PER pet PER night. We do ask that you keep your pets off of the couch and the bed and clean up any “restroom breaks” outside. Also please note that we Do Not have a full kitchen only a microwave but we do have a charcoal grill under the trees in the common area. Dripping Springs offers a huge variety of fun activities and places to visit. Within a 10 to 15 minute drive you can visit countless local wineries, breweries and distilleries. The owner took the cows away after the sale, but he left us with beautiful Mesquite and Spanish Oak and endless possibilities....We want to share this beauty with our guests. You might think fishing and boating rule at this Texas state park. You'd be right. Cast your line from the shore or a boat to catch largemouth bass and catfish. Pick from hundreds of secluded inlets or coves to find your perfect fishing spot. Return to your campsite at sunset to prepare a meal from your "Catch of the Day". Be aware that fish aren't the only creatures in the water. This lake marks the farthest west that American alligators live in their natural habitat.
