Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 5 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites.
I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite).
Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided)
Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.)
- Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party.
Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. We don't want to put any "campground" signs to avoid curious trespassers into the property (we only want invited guests).

Indian creek is a beautiful spot on the Elk River that's named after a creek that runs from the mountains into the river. It's located on 200 acres of land that is used to run cattle year round. I have added a photo in the pictures of a map showing directions on how to get to the campsite.
Just a 1/4 mile up the road is our family owned and operated RV Park which give access to restrooms, showers, laundry room, wifi, ice, and propane.

Our two Lost Valley Van Camp sites can each accommodate one self-contained campervan or truck camper and offer a quiet place to pull up amongst the trees on the outskirts of the field. Each site comes with a convertible bench/table for two and a flat grassy area to camp with plenty of room to turn your vehicle around. The two sites are separated by dense trees to ensure privacy from neighboring campers. While these sites don't come with the epic view or river access of our bluff site, they are peaceful and conveniently located.

The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago.

This property is a beautiful, peaceful country setting with wildlife and lots of surrounding trees. There are a lot of deer and birds to enjoy watching.
We have a large Koi pond and garden area
that we love to share with visitors if requested.
There is 1 large area to camp depending on the size of your group and how many self contained Vehicles/RV's. The main camping area has enough room for about 2 large RV's or 3 smaller RV's depending on the size. We like to allow for turn around room and pretty much let you set up camp however you like. There is some overflow parking if needed across the property near our shop for an additional $5 charge per vehicle which we can discuss. We do not have a toilet facility, so you must be self contained. Pricing is $60 per night per RV. We are approximately 1.8 miles from Hwy 101 across from the Myrtlewood factory in Hauser.
We are close to the dunes and Horsefall beach. This is dry camping with water available via hose from our house if needed. Fire season may be in effect depending on the season. (See restrictions.) If you do reserve with us, please make sure you reserve according to how many RV's in your group. Please be courteous when making reservations and try not to cancel last minute. If you have additional questions, please call or send me a message.
We like to let people know that there are a lot of deer passing through all the time and they do leave droppings everywhere that we cannot control, so please be aware. Pets must be on a leash at all times please.

We had a great time camping next to the river. The outhouse was the nicest one we’ve ever been in and the property is beautiful. The road isn’t too far away, but traffic is infrequent and didn’t bother us. Lisa was very communicative and her husband was extremely friendly, making us feel welcome and safe. We will definitely stay here again if in the area. It is about 20 minutes to a nice beach at the state park.

I’ve been using Hipcamp for many years all up and down the West Coast and this has to be one of the best places I’ve stayed.
Care and craftsmanship can be seen in the toilet (composting)the shower(flash heated, beautifully situated), the spacing of the campsites and the pit fire pits themselves. All of it shows care and thoughtfulness. We were very happy at Fennel Flats.

A really lovely spot right on the river. Great location for birding — be on the lookout for herons, osprey, belted kingfishers, greater yellow legs, and cedar waxwings! The camping area is pretty open, but the sites are still far enough apart that they felt private.

This was our second time camping at Fennel Flats by the river, and it’s only gotten better! The site is super private with easy access to the water, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The fire pits are wide and well set up, and there was plenty of room for our two large tents without feeling crowded. They’ve also added gravel to the field you drive through, which made getting in and out much easier. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back!

Fennel Flats is such a sweet spot! Joe's detailed instructions made finding the campsite very easy. The amenities are amazing--outdoor shower, composting toilet, and handwashing area are all clean and thoughtfully-designed. And even though several other groups were camping there, sites were far enough apart that we didn't hear much of the other folks. I'd definitely recommend this site and camp there again!

From the magical river to the abundance of amazing wildlife to the showers with a stunning view, this has been an absolute favorite camp site ever for us. My wife and two pups and myself had a fantastic time. The camp host Joe was helpful and friendly. The cows across the river bank were a welcome site and sound. Would recommend 100% will return in the future.

First the directions were very good. Got to my site without getting lost. A pleasant surprise was the accommodations. Campsite has a picnic table and fire ring, also water supply, firewood for sell and a well lit and constructed outhouse near by. The other sites were well spaced for privacy and socializing if desired. Loved the river and so did my dog Duke.

My 5 year old granddaughter and I had a great time here! The composting toilet was well built and not smelly at all ! (Huge bonus when you are camping with picky kid😍). Also we loved the outdoor shower overlooking the river!! Hot water outdoor shower = heaven!

Overview
About
Jagged sea cliffs tumble down to sandy shores at the remote western tip of Oregon. Cape Blanco’s highlights include the historic Hughes House and Cape Blanco Lighthouse, which affords spectacular views along the Pacific Coast—both can be visited on a guided tour. Eight miles of hiking and mountain biking trails run along the coast and through the wildflower-blanketed headlands, while trail riding opportunities can also be found for horseback riders. Campers have plenty of space at the group campground, including electric hook-ups for RVs, tent sites, and horse corrals.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- RV sites, tent campsites, horse corrals, and cabins are all available to book up to six months in advance via the Oregon State Parks online reservations system.
- It’s best to book at least six weeks in advance to avoid disappointment—especially for stays in July and August, or over holiday weekends.
When to go
Cape Blanco is open for hiking and camping year-round, but the main season is from April through October. Tours of the lighthouse and historic home are only available during this period, and advance bookings are recommended, especially in July and August. Out of season, it’s easy to escape the crowds, and you might even have the beach to yourself. Bring something warm, even in summer, as coastal winds can pick up at night.
Know before you go
- Cape Blanco State Park is about a 20-minute drive north of Port Orford, off Highway 101.
- Cape Blanco is remote with limited facilities, so bring everything you need with you. The closest shops and supermarkets are in Port Orford. The campground has flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and picnic benches.
- Pets are allowed in the park and campground but must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Fire bans are common during dry periods—campfires are allowed in provided fire rings only if local regulations allow it.

Hands down, the most beautiful campground I've ever been to. It's nestled amongst giant pines and right on the coast. Each site is huge, giving ample space and privacy. I wished I could've been here longer.

Cape Blanco is in Oregon's 'Banana Belt,' a micro climate region that can average 10 degrees warmer than further north up the coast. Keep your eye on the weather report in the late winter/early spring for warm sunny weather.
