Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

Welcome to the Wild West Coast! Where the mountains meet the sea.
The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

The ranch offers 7 different campsites and a Cabin. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a flush toilet in off season and additional Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well.

The property was narrow but we were able to turn around at the end of the driveway and back our trailer in. We chose site 4 which was a really nice site under a big tree. When we arrived, there was construction being done on the house until 9:00pm but that didn’t continue for the rest of our stay. There were several time when the dogs were barking including very early in the morning the day we were leaving. The property was in a beautiful area and we loved feeding the animals. When the dogs weren’t barking and after the construction stopped, the property was very peaceful and relaxing. There were full hookups at our site and it was nice to have WiFi, although it was weak and kept disconnecting. We would definitely recommend this camp site to others and we will keep this site in mind for future trips. Jose and Carolyn were very friendly and welcoming and even brought us fresh eggs! Thank you for making our stay comfortable!

my husband and i loved being able to car camp here! there are no bathrooms on site, as it’s more intended for RV camping, but carolyn did direct us to a vaulted/pit toilet about 2 miles away. they had 3 beautiful friendly dogs, chickens, goats/sheep, and a horse! we were free to give them some treats and pet them :) carolyn introduced herself to us right after we pulled in, and ramon was very friendly. we would definitely camp here again!

Great place to stay with full hook ups, near the redwoods, right on the river. Nice clean bathrooms, laundry facility, blackberries all over the place, and our dog appreciated the fenced dog-run. The sites are close together but not so close that you feel overcrowded. It’s a convenient location, close to the redwood parks and beaches and Crescent City.

Really well kept up/clean. Excellent wifi!!
Even when it was fairly full, it was very quiet/peaceful.
Bathrooms/showers were clean with continuous hot water.
Things I would update:
Offer garbage bins along with all the dog waste bag sites. Especially in the designated dog park. (There is one area with dumpsters that you have to walk to.)
Get some new street signage as the current ones are all sun bleached and not readable.

Just can’t decide what I liked the best, my dogs being free to hang out in our space off leash or the perfect placement of the hammock (which I had a fabulous nap in) maybe the fire pit and all the wood right there. Or maybe that it was such a pretty spot or that it was very level but I think Vanessa’s kindness top even all the above. Truly a magical spot that I hope to visit again soon.

Jose and Carolyn’s l farm was very cute and the spaces were spacious. We had site 4 with a beautiful view of a small pasture with pretty yellow flowers and horses grazing. It was very peaceful and serene. We slept well in the quiet atmosphere.

What a sweet spot! pretty, open site with lots of grassy shrubs and bushes. Just comfortable and beautiful. Nice fire pit. Fully fenced so the puppy could wander. Just a perfect site for us. And then the next morning drove just a couple miles to Kellogg Beach… and what a fabulous beach. Wide open, no people , spectacular. So a camp site not to miss!

Sweet spot! Right on the river and very peaceful. The bathroom is very clean and is a great spot if you need a solid shower and a reset—great proximity to some sick spots in Oregon like Whalehead and Natural Bridges. Be sure to catch a sunset over the river and look for seals. Definitely recommend!

Paris Beach Campground was full when I was there as you would expect in August, but it's a great campground if you can reserve a spot or get in by chance. I have camp there before. The day use area is adjacent to the campsite and is open to the public. It's a great beach to walk to and the loop drive takes you right down to Just above the beach. It's always a great place to watch the sunset, or check out some of the trails in Harris Beach State Park that will alternatively take you through open beaches, Rocky tide pool zones, and spruce trees. It's a beautiful place.

Take a stroll out to the tide pools at low tide to hunt for critters in the rocks and keep your eyes peeled for the bobbing heads of seals out to sea.
The showers at this campground are wonderful (compared to your average campground) so go for it and indulge if you so decide. The sites that face the road have easier access to the cliff views but the inner sites tend to be a bit more shady.

Another beautiful gym created by Oregon! This place is truly Amazing! Breath taking views of the rugged coastline with the powerful sounds of giant waves crashing into large jagged rocks. This place is one reason why I miss Oregon.

Massive, popular yet pleasant campground with incredible proximity to the beach and wonderful views and shoreside trails. Family friendly, friendly staff, clean and quiet (for a place of its size). There are some really killer campsites here that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of privacy, setting, and proximity to ocean views. I hope to return soon and write down which ones struck my fancy.

Very well maintained. Gets a lot of day use, but quite peaceful at night. The tent sites are sort of segregated from RV sites, and have nice old school CCC-like masonry work.

Important note: This campground is scheduled to be closed Sept 8, 2015 through May 1, 2016 for paving and upgrades, contingent on funding. Check the website before heading out!

If you don't like the noise of children on a playground, avoid the camp sites that surround the playground. It can get SUPER noisy! Spots with best ocean view are A10-A24 (even numbered sites). C1 also has a view. A1, A2, A4, A6 get lots of nice sun!

This campground can get busy with families on weekends so try and go during mid-week. Great hot showers with good water pressure and they are FREE! Also, each shower is its own little room so you don't have to share with anyone. Nice and private!
