We are a family that travels in our RV fulltime and have created this private oasis for travelers to unwind. This location is in a quiet area in the rolling hills of Morrisville. Our property is a rolling hill with views from the top, a pond with a pavilion, and flat area at the bottom. We are 5-10 minutes from a couple of small lakes for boating and fishing and 15 minutes from larger Cazenovia lake. We are also close to Delphi falls that has hiking and a really nice waterfall to visit and walk in. There are other local parks and hiking in the area for things to do. I live off grid in one of the toughest climates in the US. I have about 15 acres of land bordered by 10,000 acres of wild forest preserve. Locals refer to this area as The Hill because of its unique weather anomalies. I share my experiences with campers in good weather but exist here all year. I am a Qualified NYS Woodland Guide. My actual license is pending the processing of fees and registration. This should be complete by August 1st of this year. I have over a half century of knowledge gained through a lifetime of hiking, exploring and living in this environment. My main focus is the land, lakes, ponds and streams in the lower Adirondack Park. I leave the high peaks, ice climbing and white water rafting to others that choose that speciality. My goal in guiding is not that of a just a follow me and listen guide. I strive to help those interested in learning about and enjoying the outdoors safely so that you take away real life skills you can use once we are done. I did search and resuce work as a volunteer for many years under DEC Forest Rangers. To help contain costs l will allow up to groups of people to participate at one time. Also. If you would like Amish made products, l can arrange that as well. There is a very conservative Amish community in the surrounding area. I consider these people my good friends and l am very familiar with their customs, traditions and lifestyles. Many people are now thinking of doing what we have done. If you so choose, we can schedule time to discuss any of the offgrid issues that may be unanswered in your mind. The original intent was to offer a peaceful place for you to escape for a time. With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history. Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Learn more about this land: A raw, pine forest lining the bedrock banks of Port Leyden's Fowlerville Falls, just inside of the Adirondack park. The former site of one of Georgia Pacific's old logging mills, the property has private access to beautiful water falls, a large swimming hole just off of a large, South-facing rock bank, untamed, clean pine forests, ATV and hiking trails, trout & small mouth bass fishing, many fire pits and areas to camp throughout the property.

Looking for some peace and quiet? Up for an adventure with rustic camping? If so, this is it! I hope you're interested enough to read my entire description. Our property was once part of a much larger business farm. It has not been under a tractor since 2010, except for mowing. We have been hosting for HipCamp since 2019 and we are eager to meet you and hear what you think of our acres. The gorgeous sunsets over Lake Ontario are world renowned, and our primitive camp sites are just one half mile from the lake. The terrain is hilly, elevation ranges from 320' - 380'. Due to the location on the hill, great views of the spectacular sunrise can also be seen (from the ground) and pretty much most of the sunsets. Excellent opportunities for bird watching, we have seen everything from goldfinches to bald eagles, with sightings of indigo buntings, sparrowhawks, snow and Canada geese, according to season. Wildflowers, berries and herbs are in abundance, when in season. Being right near the fourth largest Great Lake the campgrounds is a great spot for cloud watching, kite sailing and star viewing - there is no light pollution. Fresh water divers? There are dozens of sunken shipwrecks in Lake Ontario and, NOAA national marine sanctuary in eastern Lake Ontario to protect historically significant shipwrecks and maritime heritage resources. Oh, and did I mention the world class fishing? Co-owner, Valerie, is a permaculturist and welcomes conversation about anything environmental. The flattest part of the hill was once under cultivation but since 2010 has been allowed to revert to woodlands. I farm trees, the only animals here will be the ones that Nature sends (or if you bring a pet). Fruit and nut trees have been planted, as well as some berries, so since 2010 they are not very large. My trees are very important. Please take care not to injure them. Seasoned firewood is plentiful from the prunings as well as from deadfall and extra can be purchased at the farm - $6. per bundle. (Per New York State DEC regulation, untreated firewood may not be moved over 50 miles.) Please take responsibility for the energy you bring to this space. Campfires are encouraged but bonfires are not allowed. If you are unsure, just ask. This is also a 'leave nothing but footprints' campsite. We do not have trash removal. There is a working rocket mass heater in the barn and it will be fired up and roaring between October and April. Knitting and crocheting lessons are yours for the asking. Co-owner, William, may also be persuaded to show you some guitar licks. Children 12 and under are discounted 50% off. Children under 2 are free. At the edges of the property you can see neighbors' houses but campsites are secluded from the neighbors as well as from each other. All campsites are drive in but you may be driving across a mown field. Sterling Nature Center (Great Blue Heron rookery!) and Sterling Renaissance Festival are each 4 miles away. Gas station and farm store (Ontario Orchards -- great home-baked pies there!) are each 3 miles away. Sterling Creek Canoe- Kayak Launch - 3.5 miles. Fair Haven Beach State Park and Little Sodus Bay - 7.5 miles. City of Oswego and NY State University - 6 miles. And, if you are of that persuasion, the nearest McDonald's and Subway are 7 miles and Walmart is 10 miles away. Because I could be anywhere on the property - or off! - and I would like to be available when you arrive, please advise me if you know you will be arriving after 5 PM. All revenue from camping goes back into the property to continue to improve your experience. While we are open to winter camping, the farm road is on a hill that must be navigated to reach the campsites. In snowy or icy (or extremely muddy) conditions this may prove impossible for a typical vehicle and even give some 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles some trouble. There is room at the bottom of the hill for off road parking for one vehicle. It would then require hiking up about 500 feet to reach campsites. Also, when the weather is dropping below freezing (which could be between late October -- early May), you are advised to bring your own water as water left overnight will freeze. Thorndon Meadows acknowledges we are on native land originally inhabited by the Cayuga (Guyohkohnyoh – The People of the Great Swamp) of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy who were scattered by European settlers in the early 1800’s. Weekend Trip to Tilden Hill Farm

This was our first trip in our new travel trailer and using hipcamp. The sites were large, all amenities worked as expected, bathrooms clean, and camp store has just about everything you might need to make a few meals. Ken stopped by to say Hi and was always around - just in case - but all the other campers were friendly but kept to themselves too. The sites without sewer are quieter as they’re a bit further from the highways, but this isn’t a complaint just observation. We are considering when our next stay will be; absolutely coming back!

Absolutely beautiful! The park like setting, spacious sights, nice store selection, the farm was fabulous. The trails are great, animals are so fun to watch. Ken and his wife were very responsive hosts, we are glad they are sharing their family farm with others. We enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to stay another night! Stay, you will not be sorry!

Just WOW! We came with our pop-up and wished we' planned for a few more days. There was plenty of room. Our dog was able to explore the field on her run and had a great time. Amenities were clean and well maintained and there were very few bugs. We'll definitely have to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Tilden Hill Farm and site M was perfect for us. The campsite was peaceful, well maintained, and a great place to relax. Our family loved the goats! We also loved exploring the bike trails through the woods-they were a great way to experience the whole property. The little farm market was another favorite with fresh items and products from the farm that made our visit even more special. The farm has a welcoming atmosphere, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into creating a great experience for guests. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with a little extra charm!

Weekend Trip to Tilden Hill Farm

We had a wonderful weekend at Tilden Hill Farm and would absolutely stay again. Our group booked both a full-hookup RV site and a tent site, while several friends booked nearby sites. The sites were well spaced, so no one felt crowded, but it was still easy for everyone to gather at our RV site for a campfire, s’mores, music, and plenty of laughter. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and clearly well cared for. The grounds and outbuildings were well maintained, and the bathrooms, showers, and laundry area were exceptionally clean. The host provided clear instructions that made everything easy to find and navigate. Check-in and checkout were simple and hassle-free, and communication was timely, helpful, and never intrusive. My wife and I were both raised on or around farms, so staying on a working farm with cattle, goats, and chickens was exactly our kind of getaway. We own goats ourselves, but apparently that does nothing to reduce the need to visit someone else’s goats. The market was another nice addition, with beef, pork, eggs, local honey, maple syrup, jams, locally brewed beer, and more. We were happy to support the farm directly. Beautiful surroundings, clean facilities, plenty of room, and a quiet place to relax with friends. We had a genuinely great stay and would gladly recommend Tilden Hill Farm.

A fantastic place to stay. Our rv spot was a great size with shade. The bath house was clean and well kept. Baby goats were a joy to visit. Great walking paths and a nice pond. Highly recommend and we will stay here again. Such a gem of a campground!

This location was absolutely wonderful. The property is clean, has multiple amenities and quite honestly was a nice change of pace. We will be back again. Most certainly making sure to not book last minute to get a few sites that are even better than the one we stayed at. Jam was fantastic, host was fantastic and we recommend tilden farms to anyone and everyone.

My wife and I are having a Hip Csmp travelers. Our airstream operates off grid so generally we are in remote locations. Ken‘s place is absolutely amazing. The property is in perfect condition and has all of the amenities. You can tell that Ken takes enormous pride and operating a high-quality facility. I would strongly recommend it to anyone and I can assure you our next time through the area will be back.
