You must back into the driveway from the road (there are no pull through sites). Our driveway is 15' - 20' wide for ease of backing up. 20/30/50 amp electrical, sewer, water, internet WIFI (100mbs), fire pit (please do not move fire pits), and a picnic table are included for each site. Trash bin is at the road. The sites are level, consist of crushed concrete gravel covered by 6a stone, and are 12' wide. One family per site unless you are booking as a group.   Check-In is 1:00 p.m. and Check-Out is 11:00 a.m. At this time, we DO NOT accommodate stand alone tent camping as we have no restroom facilities. Pets are welcome but we ask that you clean up after them, be mindful of other guests, and be respectful of our neighbor's property. IF YOUR PET IS ON THE NEIGHBOR’S PROPERTY YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE and no refund will be provided. You are in a land carved by glaciers, seriously! A place away from the rest of the world, but within a short drive to the best Northwest Michigan has to offer. We are on a quiet road away from the hustle and bustle. Peaceful, quiet, one acre property surrounded by deep wooded forests. If you are looking to get away, this is it!  A private, full hook-up, RV campground with all the amenities including high speed internet. This is glamping at its BEST! You will not find a more charming place so close to the lakes of Northwest Michigan's lower peninsula and all within driving distance to the coolest cities. In full disclosure, we are not a commercial resort campground or a state park: this is our family property. We are excited in the joy and happy moments this land brings to our family and others. If you want a place with a hundred sites and tons of people around you this is not going to be a place you want to stay. Bring your boats, canoes, kayaks, bathing suits, and fishing poles!  Less than a 3 minute walk to Echo Township Park (Six Mile Lake) with beach, playground and boat launch (yes, you can literally walk there).  25 minutes to Torch Lake Township Day Park (Torch Lake), Antrim Creek Nature Area (Lake Michigan), Norwood Township Park (Lake Michigan), Elm Pointe Recreation area (Lake Charlevoix's South Arm), or Notewares Landing Beach (Lake Bellaire).  This is by far the coolest place east of the Mississippi to hit rivers, streams, and lakes. Hiking at its best!  Glacial Hills Pathway and Natural Area Trailhead (Bellaire); Avalanche Preserve (Boyne City); Sleepy Hollow Nature Preserve (East Jordan); and Northpoint Nature Preserve (Charlevoix). Go shopping or out to eat!  15 minutes to East Jordan (breakfast at Southarm Cafe is a must / dinner at Las Maracas for tacos), Bellaire (Short's Brewery), Central Lake (visit Bachmann's Five and Dime) or Ellsworth (Front Porch Cafe Breakfast).  25 minutes to Charlevoix (don't forget to visit Castle Farms on the way).  30 minutes to Boyne City (Indo China Gardens has great Asian cuisine). 35 minutes to Elk Rapids (Pearl's New Orleans Kitchen). 45 minutes to Petoskey.  1 hour to Traverse City.  Hour and a half to Mackinaw City. Currently we are offering only one campsite, so as our only campers you can enjoy an even more private, secluded experience in our 40 acre woods. Our property is undeveloped, so you will need to bring your own drinking water, but there's no need to worry about finding firewood before your arrive as we supply you with all you need. Be sure to bring your water shoes with you because our wooded trails will guide you right to the river's edge where you can enjoy the beauty and wildlife along the West Branch of the Sturgeon River (no roads or houses in sight!) It will feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, yet the convenience of the small town of Vanderbilt is just three miles away. We offer two campsites on 100 secluded acres with lots of privacy. Site 1: The Beaver Dam site is more open with a good breeze and a fantastic view of the active large Beaver Pond. This spot is only accessible with a Subaru, Jeep, Truck, or four-wheel drive Sprinter van. Site 2: The Woods site is just that, in the woods with lots of Pine and Aspen trees. Accessible with any vehicle. The property is located right off U-23, 7 Miles from Mackinaw City. Bring your bikes and ride from camp to Mackinaw City (7-8 miles) on the Northeastern Bike Trail. The Barbara Hoffius Nature Preserve is only a half-mile away and has great trails to the beach. These simple campsites are PACK IN PACK OUT. We don’t have any services. There is the Mackinaw Straits roadside park one mile west which has well water and a public bathroom. Table and chairs and a fire pit are provided. Feel free to scavenge for deadfall firewood. Please don’t cut any trees down for any reason. Also, check with the DNR for fire risk. Do not burn during high risk of fire. The location can't be beaten, if you want to visit the Mackinaw Area but need space from the crowds. It will not disappoint.

Remote private tract in northern Michigan with Portage Creek to camp at, right up close. No neighbors, no other campers! 10 miles from Grayling so you can run into town for needed supplies with little time or effort. Bring your kayaks and swimsuit for a quick splash. The creek is mostly shallow with some deeper spots. There are downed trees so the kids can kayak without going too far away but they can go out of line of sight and hearing, so please be watchful. The last ½ mile road in can be very sandy in spots or sometimes flooded so you are encouraged to call or enquire prior to arrival, 4WD recommended for towing an RV. We recommend your first arrival during daylight hours so you can see the entrance of the property. The non-maintained county road, the last ½ mile in is typically not passable during winter and snow seasons except by snowshoe or snowmobile due to the snow level. Never leave children or pets unattended! Be aware of the chance encounter with an endangered massasauga rattler, it may be endangered but it is still poisonous and they have been seen on and around the property before. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave your small contained fire unattended at the firepit and watch for sparks, completely douse the fire before you leave as this is a fire-prone area. No fires outside the firepit for safety reasons and fire hazards. If you want firewood here in Grayling, there are a few places that sell it. There is down debris in our woods but as the summer goes by, it may be picked through. You can pull and circle through the open area with your RV, or you can tuck into the RV / camping spot. There is enough room for 5 or 6 cars but campers may crowd that a bit. If you are tent camping, you are welcome to set up elsewhere on the property. There are trails throughout the property and you may see the ‘No Trespassing’ signs all along the perimeter of the 23.7 acres. The toilet is now working again, but we ask that you not overtaxed it ;p . The small cabin is fairly stocked with pots and pans, good for campfire cooking. Picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate on site for your use. There are tons of nearby outdoor recreational opportunities and water bodies very close by, or you can spend your time on this private tract. The military board land and small arms range is just past the road to the west, you may hear small arms practice at times, the sound of freedom.

Great spot for camping! Tina and Tom’s property is remote, quiet, and relaxing. The area was clean and hook up was super simple. Tom was there when we arrived to show us the lay of the land and even let us borrow an adapter for a 50 amp hook up because we didn’t have one. Tina is super quick on responding to any questions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice and private site with delightful hosts!

It just happened to be storming, but the hosts were so nice and still helped my husband figure out how to get set up. Cathy has a lovely campsite on the shore of Lake Huron. There are neighbors nearby but the only real noise came from their dog. They would shut him in their pole barn when they'd leave and the poor baby would whine and cry. It was a treat for us to have electricity as that was a first for us. The beach is very nice and of course, the view is fantastic. This site may be more expensive than others but consider how much you would spend for a waterfront hotel room. Splurge on yourself and rent this campsite. You won't regret it.

It’s was very remote and well kept. Access to an electric outlet and garbage can was nice. There were some cute snails and a LOT of earwigs, but they’re harmless. Just keep the tent zipped up tight.

Easy in and easy out for setting up camp. Full service site is great. On road that is not too busy. Great place for camping with dogs. Lots of room for them to explore. Big field next to sites. Very quiet at night. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We absolutely loved our time at Tina and Tom's place. Very quiet, full hook up and a trail through the woods our dogs loved. We will definitely be back there. I only wish I lived closer, so we could enjoy it more often. Firewood being provided was very nice as well

Weekend Trip to Modd's getaway a dark sky camp site

I stayed here while attending an event on Mackinac island. Overall a great experience. I enjoyed the woods and seeing the birds in the morning. The sky was clear on the second day and I was able to get some great photos of the stars.

Weekend Trip to Woodhaven

We had a great stay! The host met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and was very welcoming. He took time to talk with us and share ideas for things the kids could do, which we really appreciated. The property is a beautiful, large piece of land in the country, with a peaceful setting and close to the lakes. There was plenty of space for the dogs to run around, which was a huge plus. Everything was clean, the setup was easy and convenient, and the fire pit was a great bonus. Friendly hosts and a wonderful spot. We definitely recommend.

The hosts thought of everything! Lots of space to enjoy with our dogs, and the septic and water hookups were perfect. Beautiful, level and maintained site, and we were alone and private. The building in the pics is storage, not a residence so it was blissfully quiet back there. Pulling into the site with our 50 foot truck/trailer combo was super easy (straight shot back off the road and then just a very short backing up onto the site). Tom met us there and thankfully had the right elec adapter to go from 50 down to 30 for us! We enjoyed a few nights of campfire with the nice fire ring and complimentary firewood. All in all, this is one of a couple of the best run and easiest hipcamp sites we've encountered. We'll definitely be back! Rick and Jane

Dark sky star gazing was wonderful here! Lots of space to spread out/ great fire pit/ really nice perimeter walk to take Doggos on morning treks thru the wooded area. The naturalized flowers were beautiful. Our first time using Hipcamp did not disappoint. Thanks to the owners !

Wendy was good at communicating and provided a suggestion of a local place to stop at. I will likely stop at Wendy's again the next time I'm in the area. I definitely recommend her property!

What makes this site unforgettable is the private rocky beach just steps away. Mornings bring spectacular sunrises over Lake Huron, nights are filled with the sound of waves rolling in, and the shoreline is covered in rocks of every kind waiting to be explored. The campsite itself was spacious and set up with electric hook-up, a picnic table, a firepit, and firewood provided. Well cared for and in a great location, it’s also an easy jumping-off point for Oqueoc Falls and Rogers City. It's definitely on my "visit again" list!

Located off the paved road, via a gravel lane, is a tranquil and engaging campsite. There are two semi-level, gravel sites available, both of which offer full hookup facilities. It should be noted that the water source is shared between the two sites, with Site B being closer, although a hose of at least 30+ feet in length will be required. Site A is situated further away, approximately 75 feet across the driving path of both sites, making it likely that the hose will be run over. The sewer connection location is ideal, while the electric connection provides 15 or 50 amp options, with a requirement to dog-bone down to 30 amp. 50 ft electric cord was utilized in its entirety. The sites are gravel and relatively level. A picturesque tree is situated in the middle of the U-shaped driveway, with branches hanging down, requiring caution when maneuvering the trailer. It is possible to enjoy a campfire beneath the tree. Wendy was a great help. We had a question and she immediately answered it, via phone call. She took the time to call us and explain the water pump operation. Thank you!!!

We spent a week at this place, it’s quiet, peaceful , while you almost in the wild at the same time you have full hookups, the site is level easy to back in . The host is very helpful and responsive. For me and my family this is the perfect place for camping

Clear Lake Campground

We visited here during a weekday and only saw the camp hosts for our stay. It had a very homey feel but was quite spacious. Small vaulted toilets but with well built sheds and it's clear that the folks running the place put extra care into it. Some open campsites and some in the trees all along the lake.
