Dark sky star gazing was wonderful here! Lots of space to spread out/ great fire pit/ really nice perimeter walk to take Doggos on morning treks thru the wooded area. The naturalized flowers were beautiful. Our first time using Hipcamp did not disappoint. Thanks to the owners !

It was peaceful and quiet at the site. They were hammocks and Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. The water and electric hookups were very convenient. Hosts were very nice. Would stay here again.

Chris's spot was awesome. Out in the quiet countryside of Michigan but close enough to everything you could wanna do. Will definitely be choosing this spot again for the next trip.

The campground was perfect and so welcoming. Chris definitely set the bar high for Hipcamp. He was so helpful to my mom and I who are very new to rv camping! Would definitely recommend a stay here before or after a trip to Mackinac island

We had a great stay at Chris's place. Chris and his family were gracious and welcoming hosts. We were able to see the stars at night in the Dark Sky area and had a short trip into Mackinac City to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island for a day trip. We would certainly stay again!

What a great spot!!! Chris and Amy are the nicest people and so accommodating. Location is quiet, cozy, level, easy to access. Hammock, fire pit (firewood provided), picnic table, park style grill (charcoal offered to us but we used our own) all perfect! Great base for all that the area has to offer! Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Mackinac Bridge, multiple lighthouses, the Headlands dark sky park and so much more!!
Highly Recommend for your camping adventure!!!

I camped in a 32' class C with my parents and 3yo son. Chris was welcoming when we arrived and his wife also brought us Mackinac Island fudge. The property was charming, well-shaded, and comfortable with firewood provided. We were just passing through and looking for an overnight spot with electric to run the AC, but the water hook-up was a nice bonus. (Good tasting water--my mom is particular about water!) Had we more time, we would have loved to explore the hiking trails. Being so close to Mackinaw City and other north Michigan attractions, I would definitely stay again as a home-based for visiting the area.

We have been camping for over 25 years. This was a first for us. We have never used Hipcamp before and was a little nervous to use it. We were pleasantly surprised. Chris and his lovely wife were amazing host! They provided extremely helpful tips and tricks that made our trip to the island a more pleasurable experience.
The location was perfect and very easy to locate. The site was level.

This was the first time we used a Hipcamp site. It exceeded our expectations. The sight is the perfect location for day trips in northern Michigan. The Mackinac Island ferries are just minutes away. The Soo Locks are an hour away. Scenic drives, Tunnel of Trees and Legg’s Inn are all close by. The site itself is easy to get to and access to site services are very accessible. I can’t imagine a more helpful and accommodating host than Chris. As a fellow trailer hauler he helped me - a newbie - to address an issue with my chains including providing parts. We heartily recommend staying here.

Great Host, will give any help they can, the camp site has lovely view of rolling hills to the forest out your door. The location worked great for us, for our day trips to Sault st. Marie locks andthe pictured cliffs in the UP while easy access to the quaint towns near it.

The view out our door is of his lovely yard to the woodlands. We were looking for a base to work out of to visit the spots in north Michigan in day trips in all directions and this is it! 15 min to the bridge on good roads! Chris and family are very friendly and helpful resourse for your planning needs. It was so good and comfortable, we extended another 5 days!

The Modds were great hosts! This was our first time using hipcamp and I was happily surprised at the quality. This site is a great hidden campsite with great views with a little nature trail, picnic tables and fireplace with free wood. Only 15 minutes to mackinaw city, this beats any RV park around if you enjoy the quiet nature.

What an amazing place to relax for a while. Chris and Amy were gracious hosts and their property is beautiful. Super private, quiet and in close proximity to the touristy stuff. Clearly they take pride in providing a superior Hipcamp experience, and we will absolutely look to stay there again if we are in the area. Apple trees everywhere was a huge bonus, and were yummy cooked in the pizza oven!

We had a great time at Chris’s place. We went to Mackinac Island twice and explored nearby lakes. There is a ton to do and Chris is very knowledgeable about the area. This was like staying at a friend’s house and it’s very dog friendly. At night it’s peaceful and quiet. Thanks Chris for sharing your place with us!

This was the first time we used hip camp. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t know what to expect. Chris is a wonderful host very personable and helpful. Our site was perfect, it was very quiet. Plus, we are right in the middle of everything, no more than 30 miles to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, or Mackinac city. Those places were nice to visit, but it was nice to come back to our campsite where it was peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Chris and his family are so very nice and gracious hosts. We were their very first guest. They welcomed us to the single RV space behind their home that had 30 amp electric service and water on the new gravel pad. It was a bit tricky getting in with our 42ft 5th wheel but Chris made some improvements while we were there that made it so much easier. Would definitely stay here again. Getting to and from Mackinaw City was very easy
