Since then, old buildings have diminished back to Earth. What used to be a small creek is now a small pond and trout stream. We have a cabin, outhouse, outdoor shower and other camping accommodations depending on the camping experience you are looking for! Riley Crest Farm is located in Amherst, Wisconsin. Close to Hartman Creek St Park, on the north side of Hwy 54. We are diversified farm. We have a small herd of dairy cows, 50 dairy/meat goats, a horse named Willow and mule named Molly, a couple pigs or chickens in the summer, lots of cats. We specialize in goats for meat. Grazing girls roam 30 acres of pasture close to camping. Our goats are very friendly. We are currently not milking goats. We sell eggs and meat from our farm store. We have a spring fed 3 acre pond to paddle around if the water level is high enough. Swimming not recommended. Primitive tent and camper sites available. We welcome horses, bring your own fence. Trails on farm for walking or riding and close to Hartman Creek State Park trails. Dogs are okay, but must be on a leash for the safety of our livestock. Our on site camper offers a bathroom, no shower. Gas generator to run electricity is included for lights and basic appliances. Bring your own water containers, available to fill at the farm. Amazing retreat! Level parking on gravel, easy to get into and out of, extras like firewood, garbage bins and recycling on the site, has a picnic table and fire ring. Quiet area right on the lake, great star views at night and ample room. The host is very responsive and friendly, she made the stay even more welcoming without worry.

We pulled in with a little vintage trailer, young lady that was on duty that night took care of us put us in our spot brought us wood. She was quite Pleasant and efficient. The amenities were clean and well taken care of, we understand new management is just taking over and it is making changes and we like the Direction the park is going in. We will definitely stay here again if we are in this area again.

Western Woods is a lovely private campground with quite a few amenities. There’s a pool, horseshoe pits, volleyball net, basketball, etc. there are quite a few permanent campers there, but still plenty of spaces for regular campers. Just know that the pull through lots do not have any shade. Everybody was friendly and helpful. I can definitely see us visiting there again sometime. Not to mention that it is very convenient for visiting the Wisconsin Dells.

Pike Lake Segment

Hikes on the Ice Age are almost always beautiful and enjoyable. The trail component at Pike Lake was especially beautiful this time of year with the maples in full autumn color.
