Lakeside Cozy Camp — Your Own Private Acre Near Big Hills Lake Looking for a simple, peaceful place to camp with easy access to the lake? Welcome to Lakeside Cozy Camp! Our campsite sits on a private, wooded one-acre property directly across the street from Big Hills Lake. You’ll have the entire acre to yourself, with plenty of room to relax, explore, set up your tent, or bring a small camper or RV. 🌲 A private property — but not a remote campsite The campsite itself is tucked into the trees, giving you your own space and a peaceful wooded atmosphere. There are no other campers sharing the property, so you won't be camping in a campground or next to another tent. We want to be completely transparent about what to expect: this is a private acre, but it is not a secluded or remote wilderness campsite. Although there are many mature and towering trees, you may occasionally see or hear our neighbor, especially during busy summer weekends. If you're looking for a private place to enjoy the outdoors without needing complete isolation, this could be a great fit. 🚣 Big Hills Lake is right across the street One of the best parts of staying here is the easy access to Big Hills Lake. The public boat launch and recreation area are directly across the street, giving you convenient access to: • Boat launching • Fishing • Swimming • Kayaking & paddleboarding • Ice fishing and winter lake activities • A public dock • Public restrooms You’ll need to cross the road to access the lake, but it's just a short walk from the property. 🔥 Your campsite The property is a simple, rustic camping experience surrounded by mature trees. You'll have access to: • Private one-acre property • Fire pit • Firewood • Picnic table • Flat camping area • Space for tents • Space for camper vans and smaller RVs • Pet-friendly property • Outdoor solar string lights There is no electricity, potable water, shower, or private toilet on the property, so please come prepared for primitive camping. A public restroom is available at the recreation area across the street. 🐕 Bring your dog Dogs are welcome to enjoy the property with you. Because this is a wooded property near a road and neighboring homes, please be respectful of property boundaries and keep an eye on your pets. 🌲 A simple Northwoods getaway Lakeside Cozy Camp is best suited for campers who enjoy the simple side of camping — sitting around a fire, exploring the woods, spending the day on the lake, and coming back to a quiet campsite at night. It was a very relaxing and easy night. Perfect for a tent camp night, plenty of firewood, and some kitchen utensils by the firepit. Super easy access to a lake, though it was busy for kayaking. We didn't know there was an event that weekend in town so headed back home was a bit tough, but not the host's fault by any means.

This is a great piece of land right across from the lake. Lake was amazing for swimming and kayaking. There are very nice pit toilets that are just a few minutes walk from the camp. There is a house nearby but the guy living there was quite and kept lights off so it did not effect the camp. A small trailer or pop up camper would fit nicely here, anything bigger would be a tight fit. Plenty of firewood but if you dont want to split your own there are plenty of places nearby that sell affordable firewood.

Lakeside Cozy Camp
The site is a nice little gem of a property. The camping site offers two ways into the property so setting up on either side is good. 30 foot rig should make it. There is a public boat landing / Park (swings, bathroom, park benches) down the property path, across street, 500 yards. The actual camp site comes in two flavors, one perfect for myself and my dog everything right there already setup, with outdoor rug, picnic bench, bench, log bench, and loads of firewood you will have to process. One bigger area that could accommodate 6-8 that is just a massive expansion of the small space. Site is fairly heavily wooded. There are two local properties, one 100yds, one 300 yards, bordering the property. This site is primitive but not remote. Pet friendly, no road traffic or people traffic to distract pets. Plenty for my puppy to explore when he’s not sleeping in the sun. The property is clean, undergrowth is perfect, neighbors must be seasonal or weekenders, just an overall sweet piece of land begging for a cabin. I believe the owner allows winter camping at this site as well (big plus for my fellow insane campers). Owner was friendly, and responsive (5 star).

Lakeside Cozy Camp
Lakeside Cozy Camp was exactly as describe, flat, easy to access, and you get the whole acre to yourself. We tent camped in the back of my pickup, but the ground would have been comfortable too since it’s mostly sand. We had a small fire, walked around the property, and loved being right across from the lake, even walking out on the ice to chat with ice fishermen. Very quiet, private, and pet-friendly, with park bathrooms conveniently across the street, perfect for a simple camping spot in nature.
