This was my first time booking with hip camp and I'm so glad I did. Josh and Brenda were perfect hosts. Getting to the site was easy. Communication was clear. The sites are right on the water and the pictures don't do it justice. Such a beautiful place with so much wildlife around to see. Josh and Brenda were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. They recommended kayaking adventures we wouldn't have done otherwise and picked us an and dropped us off. Truly amazing hospitality. We couldn't have asked for more from our stay. I would recommend it to anyone.

I had a great time at the hidden cabin site! It was nice to walk on the trails and see the other cabins. Nobody was there when I went, so I had privacy to meditate and relax without any noise. They said it was tick and mosquito treated. I saw 1 mosquito the entire weekend. I would recommend trying it out.

Campsite and fire rings great, even pre-raked the area for us so there weren’t leaves near fire. Loved having a hot shower available before returning to spaces full of other humans. On our walk at the Wildlife Refuge, we saw trumpeter swans and sandhill cranes 🙂 There is some highway noise and there are some lights , for those who are sensitive to either, but we still had lots of stars on our first night!

Yeng was great- solid communication before and after our stay. While the weather was rought, our family enjoyed the novelty of glamping on the 'ship'. Our accomodations were warm and cozy despite night temps in the 30's, and we loved playing cards and hanging out in the small galley. It was also a plus to have the Dells nearby for activites during a rainy day.

Weekend Trip to Waupaca River Retreat

Above and beyond! That's how Brenda and her family role. They are the most genuinely kind and caring people. They truly treat you like family. I took my 2 kiddos (ages 8 and 9) and our dog, for a fall camping adventure. The property is absolutely beautiful. Their are 3 campsites right on the river. We happened to be the only people there, so we had it to ourselves! But, would be a perfect spot if you have a larger group to book all 3 sites together. Brenda and her family truly made us feel like family. We had a couple bumps in the road- it was my first time taking my kids camping by myself, but they made me feel like I had a safety net, in case anything happened. I felt completely safe and it put my mind at ease. My daughter said if she could rate her stay, she'd give it "450 trillion out of 5 stars". My son said, the experience was, "one for the books"- meaning he had so much fun, he can't stop talking about it. :) Aside from the top notch host, they offer things to do, like kayaking and fishing. They will even drive you to a place to start and you'll finish at your campsite. They have 2 docks right on the river, which offer gorgeous views of sunset and sunrise. Also, just to bask in the peacefulness surrounding you. I could go on and on about how amazing our experience was... but you should check it out for yourself! We can't wait to go again!! We're already planning our next adventure there!

Such an adorable cozy and lovely area! The accommodations were nice and everything was well kept and clean and organized, lovely hosts as well! Would totally come back for sure during spring or summer season, came during harsh rain and wasn’t able fully explore and stay on site but was still such a nice experience! They also have a small shop and we were able to buy pumpkins! Very cute! Very lovely!

Pike Lake Segment

Hikes on the Ice Age are almost always beautiful and enjoyable. The trail component at Pike Lake was especially beautiful this time of year with the maples in full autumn color.
