Heifer Pasture Feed Shed
The Feed Shed was a great weekend getaway from the city. We enjoyed the quiet and the cows. Our puppy loved have space to explore. The ground beef and eggs were delicious.

Our stay exceeded expectations. The little house was clean, warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the isolation, scenery and neighborhood cows. The adventure started when it rained and we participated in an impromptu team building exercise of getting the car unstuck from the mud. We would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to anyone looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle to relax in nature.

This is a great, secluded little cabin. Kurt hooked up the generator so we had lights and a fan. Could also charge my phone. The cows were adorable!

Great stay with beautiful scenery. Despite our late arrival at dark, we were well welcomed to the shed by Kurt. We were advised about the 4x4 suggestion to get to it but because of the post winter rain we opted to ride along in their ATVs. The shed was in great shape and well insulated, the wood stove did a great job even for those 30 degree nights. All amenities and many supplies were offered. Plenty of open land to hike and watch great scenery. Overall great hosts and response time for a great stay, definitely recommended.

Heifer Pasture Feed Shed
This was my 2nd time coming here and I would definitely love to come again. Kurt's feed shed is the perfect location for a weekend getaway in the heart of Wisconsin with great proximity to hiking trails.

Great time with family meeting up at the Feed Shed. Kurt and family were very accommodating. We were grateful for 4x4 to get to the shed.
We used the provided Weber gas grill for most meals. The fire pit and provided tripod would be very useful to cook as well. The area had seen a lot of rain recently so we did purchase some dry wood to supplement what was on the property.
Beds were suitable for 5 of us. Couch for 6th. Small generator powered everything we needed, including a ceiling fan, lights, etc. - and there is a TV in the cabin with over-the-air channels. Useful for weather updates and maybe a TV movie for the kids.
Beautiful and secluded - and combined with the clean outhouse, was a step up from tents/hammocks and squating in the woods for the less adventurous.
Indian Lake and Dog Park nearby were an awesome surprise. A short drive. Our pups loved both the park and the lake.

Heifer Pasture Feed Shed
Extremely secluded , with the exception of the local wildlife, this stay is relaxing , one-of-a-kind , and truly serene . We were greeted at the main entrance with a warm smile and friendly demeanor . The feed shed was clean, stayed cool when it was hot , and they have out games to play during the day . We had a blast with the dogs , grilling and taking some much needed time away from the city

Great spot! Kurt and his family were very helpful. Buying eggs and ground beef from them was a nice addition. If you go during spring, bring you rain boots!

My wife and I stayed the weekend at our new favorite spot. Kurt and Ed were super helpful and nice hosts that made sure we had everything we needed for a comfy stay. We played yard games, had a nice fire with the wood provided, and even purchased the most tasty beef and eggs we’ve ever tried. 10/10 will be returning in the future for another stay!

This is a beautiful spot, and Kurt and his family were so helpful. The dwelling is adorable and the surrounding hillsides and forest area were perfect for my kids to explore! We had everything we needed for a cozy stay despite some rainy, cold weather. We will definitely be back to check this area out again when the cows are on pasture!

Awesome place with plenty of amenities. A little hard to get to but worth it. Plenty of wood and gas for generator. Cooking supplies and the scenery was amazing. Definitely a must go

I found the description on Hipcamp and the points made by previous reviewers to be accurate. My favorite aspects: very private, clean, well stocked with firewood. The hamburgers we made with the farm's beef were the best I've had in a long time. Their eggs are great, too.
I drive a 2WD RAV4, and it made it out to the cabin ok, but I would recommend AWD, especially if the ground is wet. (Kurt did offer to load us and our gear in his UTV).
A fun thing to do that's nearby: about 2 miles to the south, on Table Bluff road, there is a small parking lot and access to the Ice Age Trail. The hike south to Picnic Hill is very scenic.

This was exactly what we needed. We live in the city. It’s loud and my husband just wanted to get away. The shed kept very cool during a 90° weekend. It’s in the shade we never felt uncomfortable. The hosts were great and the place was clean. We over-packed. All of the basics you need are there. The only thing I would recommend bringing are washcloths and towels, even though there’s not a shower, we cleaned up each day.

We loved our stay! Kurt even brought out fishing poles for us to use in the pond. Super quiet secluded place. Cabin is clean and lovely. Enjoyed the visit from the cows.

This is a very special spot! View was amazing, secluded, visited by cows in the morning. Perfect spot to unwind and cook with friends. Host’s were welcoming, and even checked in before a storm came through to make sure we had everything needed. Thank you!
Has kitchen supplies, gas generator, pudgy pie maker!! and toilet is well kept. You can fit a few tents but the beds actually fit up to 5 people not including the couch.

This was one of the best family vacations one could want. We got to unplug and enjoy each other's company. If you're a forager, there are great mushrooms there too(hello Scarlet Elf Cups!!!😍). Ed was so responsive to everything. We even got to visit the farm! Thanks for everything!! We will be back.

Heifer Pasture Feed Shed
My mom and I loved staying here. It was the first cold weekend of fall and it was so nice to have the fire inside and out to keep warm. We did some sightseeing and saw the fall colors but mostly enjoyed our time around the fire. Our two dogs also love it and I soon realized the fence was to keep the cows out, not to keep the dogs in! The cows are very friendly!

Such a great spot. Kurt has everything at the cabin you need. A truly picture perfect spot. The lawn games were so fun. A lot of great hikes and trails around the area too. Definitely will be back.

Kurt's property is beautiful. If you want to really get away from it all, this is the place. Watching the full moon rise over the horizon was magical. We actually had to off road to get to the cabin. So keep that in mind if you have a low vehicle. The cabin was very clean and did have a television. We had some issues with the fireplace but Kurt was very responsive.

This place was beautiful! My 10, 13, and 16 year old son's were in farm heaven! The cows are shy but still curious enough to approach after a day. The path to the pasture is muddy when it has rained so bring some mud boots! The "shed" is far more like a cabin some of my favorites were a camp stove, a wood burner, and a comfy couch! There is a TV for the kids consoles and a generator with plenty of fuel. We enjoyed having a fire at night, watching the fireflies, and listening to the sounds of nature. Views extending for acres please do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful location! I was refreshed and rejuvenated when I left. The hosts are top notch and their 5th generation farm is a slice of heaven!

Really lovely 6 generation old farm, tons of privacy and fun animal encounters! Ed was a great host and came right on out through the fields to help out if I needed it. So beautiful and serene and all the alone time you could want. And JUST enough service to play some music or send a text. Would happily return if I’m in the area again. My dog loved it too.

Location was beautiful and the feed shed was well equipped! Indoors had a table with 4 chairs, typical camping type stove, hand sanitizer, large sofa, 3 beds and an air mattress, bed linens and some blankets. We didn't use the generator but it was available. Multiple lawn game options and plenty of firewood available. You will want a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the feed shed in the middle of the farmland. Would definitely return!
