I am a frequent vistor to camp WHY. Afton has always been a great host. Ignore any nay-sayer's reviews. I had motorcycle trouble last time on the way to visit and she was willing to do a lot to help me out. I am not saying she will do that for everyone but she is a person worth getting to know. If you are respectful of her and her property then she is aces.

Weekend Trip to Western Woods Campground

Clothes Dryers. I camp a lot in Indiana state parks and never really realized how important clothes dryers were while tenting in the rain. (This feature isn’t prominent in Indiana state parks). This small important feature was nice. The amenities were super clean with modern shower amenities. Everyone was very friendly and as a single woman, I felt safe. It is a gated community and the seasonal campers seemed to know who was who and helped me to feel safe and secure. My son and I will definitely be back for more. Thanks for a wonderful private secluded stay away from the masses.

Rufus's land was quiet and comfortable. Easy access to water and an outhouse on site. It's quiet and beautiful. There is a picnic table and a fire ring with wood available. The tree line offered shade all day. The eggs were amazing! I look forward to staying there again!

It's an excellent place to camp. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are very clean, as is the pool. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again.

We loved our two night stay at Western Woods! Our tent site 211 had decent shade and easy walk to very clean showers/restrooms/nice pool/laundry/playground. Staff was kind and the 4th of July parade was really sweet. Our 4yo had a blast. The store is well stocked with basic needs and fun items as well. They really took care of us when we missed our ferry and were delayed to arrive by a day. Friendly community with a mix of long term (seasonal residents) and short term campers. Great for families. Short drive to all the intense and bizarre and fun attractions in Wisconsin Dell ;)

1 night at Driftless Haven 125 Acres & Creek

Creekside Camp is a beautiful, quiet spot to camp with some nice amenities. We enjoyed using their trail map to hike the red mowed trails- about a 40 minute round trip walk. The gurgling creek, bird song from such a variety of birds and fireflies made our campfire magical. Andy and Marla were communicative, kind and respectful of our privacy. The camp toilet was clean and appreciated.

2 nights at Terra Growers Organic Farm

We (2 adults, 2 dogs) had a great stay. Despite it being a working farm, there was minimal noise and at night it was very peaceful. Elliot was a great host, and we had some nice chats, despite him being busy. Ruby the dog was a friendly visitor, and she interacted well with our dogs. We took some cherry preserves home with us. Delicious and highly recommend. Steve.

Breathtaking campsites & outstanding hospitality. Host was excellent at communicating and Logan (on-site) was beyond helpful in getting us to our site & bringing us a cart to make the load-in a breeze. The sounds of the creek, the birds chirping, and the frogs were a slice of heaven. The compost outhouse was so clean and easy to access (far exceeded our expectations!). The spring water was a treat. We will be back and hope to extend our stay next time!

Weekend Trip to Coyote Springs Farm

Beautiful piece of land! The views from the bell tent platform are stunning; Rolling meadows filled with fireflies, lush wildflowers, and a gently flowing stream. The bell tent was beautifully simple. It included a comfortable, warm bed with extra blankets if needed, battery powered touch lamps on the bedside tables, wool rugs on the floor, full cookware (even including olive oil), propane cooktop, charcoal grill, cooler to store food, filled water jugs, a wash basin with dish & hand soaps. The site was pre stocked with all of the basics we needed for our stay, we just brought our clothes and food. The solar powered lighting and tree swings were a nice touch to add ambiance to our peaceful evening.

A temporary membership is included in camping fees and goes toward environmental conservation work and maintaining grounds, free wifi, etc. Our 20 acre property boast 3,500 feet of stream-front class 1 trout fishing on the West Fork of the Kickapoo (a top 100 trout stream in the US). Our entire stretch of stream is fully improved and excellent to fish. We have a healthy native brown trout population. We work with a local school science program to raise and stock brook trout every year. We have resident Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Oriels, Willow Fly Catchers, Hummingbirds and many other avian species. Nestled between two valleys, we frequently have stunning sunsets. We are far enough way from light pollution to easily see the Milky Way Galaxy on a clear night. The star gazing is amazing and if you keep your eyes up at night, you're pretty much guaranteed to see a shooting star, if not multiple. The West Fork Sport Club is truly a special campground. We're a short 15 minute drive from Viroqua which has a lot of great local shops, the Driftless Café (Owned and operated by Wisconsin Foodie host Luke Zahm) and a fantastic farmer's market. We're 25 minutes from Wild Cat Mountain which has extensive hiking trails. There are also two great vineyards within 15 minutes.
