Keep it simple at this peaceful and conveniently located property. Sandstone Rustic Retreat is less than 2 miles from downtown Wisconsin Dells. This secluded 6 acre property is nestled on the quiet backwaters of the Wisconsin River. Featuring a 150 ft of spectacular waterfront, 80 ft of dock, and 225 ft of raised walkway through the fern and moss filled sandstone canyon. Our recently remodeled 1 bedroom cabins offer a cozy space to reconnect, relax and make lasting memories, while our glamping domes allow you to live in nature. Our property is comprised of 6ac of land on the Wisconsin River...we have a cornfield to the North, a seasonal cabin to our South the river to the East and a road and natural area to the West. We are 1.8mi from downtown Wisconsin Dells. Our property has 4 glamping domes, 4 cabins, perfect for couples and friends to come to the same place and have their own accommodations, 1 cottage with 2 queen beds, a Gathering House (Converted Tavern) social area, that is set up as an intimate and cozy atmosphere (think speakeasy), a 24x24 covered deck and 24x10 patio area. Follow the trail down the hill towards the river and you'll find 225ft of raised walkway through a natural Sandstone canyon that arrives at our private 80ft dock on the riverfront. You'll find excellent walleye, muskie and sturgeon fishing as well as carp and catfish sheep's head and a bounty of other stuff to catch along with scenery that will make you fall in love... The views from the dock are the crown jewel of the property. We offer a central charcoal grilling location by the Gathering House. We have a fire pit in the space beyond the covered deck and plenty of wood to burn on site. Each glamping dome also has it's own fire pit. Our goal is to host couples, small groups of friends, family or coworkers and provide a space to disconnect from technology, connect with each other, share some unique experiences and make amazing memories you and your loved one/s, you're closest friends or coworkers will look back on for years to come. We have a small herd of dairy cows, 50 dairy/meat goats, a horse named Willow, a couple pigs In the summer, lots of cats. We specialize in goats for meat. Grazing girls roam 30 acres of pasture close to camping. Our goats are very friendly. We are currently not milking goats. We have a spring fed 3 acre pond to paddle around if the water level is high enough. Swimming not recommended. Primitive tent and camper sites available. We welcome horses, bring your own fence. Trails on farm for walking or riding and close to Hartman Creek State Park trails. Dogs are okay, but must be on a leash for the safety of our livestock. Our on site camper offers a bathroom, no shower. Gas generator to run electricity is included for lights and basic appliances. Bring your own water containers, available to fill at the farm. This unique riverside retreat is located on the shores of the Plover River, on a dam remnant behind a former working mill. Campers will enjoy a park-like atmosphere with numerous benches, stone fire pits, and hidden trails among riverside, grassy, and forested areas. It's an ideal location to fish, kayak, or enjoy a 20-minute float from the dam to the Sharonwood bridge. The campground host offers guided kayak tours and/or shuttle services along the Big Plover River for an additional fee. The Old Red Mill Oasis is located on County Highway Y, 1.5 miles north of Jordan County Park and Jordan Pond, within 5 miles of the city of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, which offers numerous recreational opportunities. We were really happy to get to sleep test a Road Toad, and Cary’s tour of the Camp Inns and the factory was awesome. Campsite and fire rings great, even pre-raked the area for us so there weren’t leaves near fire. Loved having a hot shower available before returning to spaces full of other humans. On our walk at the Wildlife Refuge, we saw trumpeter swans and sandhill cranes 🙂 There is some highway noise and there are some lights , for those who are sensitive to either, but we still had lots of stars on our first night!

We had a great time in the Straw Clay Cabin! It was clean, cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed this unique cabin, including the woodland animals that are built in to the walls, and also having some information available in the cabin about how it was constructed. We also enjoyed hiking around property and seeing the chickens and sheep wandering around! Overall a great stay, we'd be happy to come back.

Echo Valley Farm is absolutely beautiful, and Maggie's Cabin was just right for what we were looking for! Dena was wonderful - kind and helpful and willing to accommodate a scheduling mistake on my part. The cabin itself was cozy and warm, and the farm was beautiful - rolling hills, grazing sheep, and forests in the distance. Echo Valley Farm is just right for a trip to get away from the demands of daily life and slow down a bit!

Yeng was great- solid communication before and after our stay. While the weather was rought, our family enjoyed the novelty of glamping on the 'ship'. Our accomodations were warm and cozy despite night temps in the 30's, and we loved playing cards and hanging out in the small galley. It was also a plus to have the Dells nearby for activites during a rainy day.

Above and beyond! That's how Brenda and her family role. They are the most genuinely kind and caring people. They truly treat you like family. I took my 2 kiddos (ages 8 and 9) and our dog, for a fall camping adventure. The property is absolutely beautiful. Their are 3 campsites right on the river. We happened to be the only people there, so we had it to ourselves! But, would be a perfect spot if you have a larger group to book all 3 sites together. Brenda and her family truly made us feel like family. We had a couple bumps in the road- it was my first time taking my kids camping by myself, but they made me feel like I had a safety net, in case anything happened. I felt completely safe and it put my mind at ease. My daughter said if she could rate her stay, she'd give it "450 trillion out of 5 stars". My son said, the experience was, "one for the books"- meaning he had so much fun, he can't stop talking about it. :) Aside from the top notch host, they offer things to do, like kayaking and fishing. They will even drive you to a place to start and you'll finish at your campsite. They have 2 docks right on the river, which offer gorgeous views of sunset and sunrise. Also, just to bask in the peacefulness surrounding you. I could go on and on about how amazing our experience was... but you should check it out for yourself! We can't wait to go again!! We're already planning our next adventure there!

We had such a wonderful time at Riverside Roost! The campsite right along the river is stunning and the fresh eggs, bread, & jam were delicious. If you are a big critter fan this is the spot for you! Lots of frogs, fish, turtles, crawdads, bugs, etc. as well as the chickens that wander around! Paddling along the water is a treat and the dam, albeit a little noisy, brought a nice cool air to the site. The campsite itself is nestled into the property and I think it’s a great site, though if you want more options for walking trails/exploring I’d utilize the plenty of parks and public sites in the area as well. We can’t wait to come back!

The site is beautiful in Autumn and very quiet except for occasional traffic. Bill was very friendly and clearly shows pride in his ancestral land. He has hand crafted a beautiful building as a replica of a lodge in Yellowstone. The entire area in that part of Wisconsin is visually outstanding.

My husband and I stayed in Maggie’s place, a cosy cabin with a screen porch. The setting was beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed walking up the hill for the view and watching the chickens, cats and sheep. There are no cooking accommodations, you can bring a camp stove for the picnic table.

Fishing off the dock, kayaking the river, getting to meet some of Brenda and Josh's "pets" (a stud horse and the sweetest little goat!) whilst stoking a fire was the perfect weekend escape. Yes, the train horns do occur, but we thought they were funny! Seeing a flock of 50 Sandhill Cranes all take off at once was a speechless moment along with watching changing leaves gently fall onto the river 🍂🛶. Plenty of firewood and kindling on site as well as all the water and eggs you could chug! Brenda was thoughtfully communicating throughout brooking process and a gracious host during our stay. We can't wait to come back with some friends! Can't recommend enough for fellow camping sweethearts and nature-loving families. 👏🤗

We lucked out and stayed on a section of the land that no one else had booked around us, so we loved the extra seclusion. Bathrooms were clean and exceptional for a campsite. A private sanctuary with 30 acres located just north of Waupaca's Chain O' Lakes with groomed hiking and/or biking trails. Terrain is varied with ponds, hills, and valleys. Shower, potable water, and rec room available. PLEASE NOTE with heavy rain all wheel drive (AWD) is needed to park next to your site. If you don't have AWD, there's parking by the rec room. We can transport you to your site if there are issues. Firewood is available for purchase in addition to a 24 x 32 rec room/storm shelter. Kayaks and SUPs available to rent too! The rec room offers a fun room full of games (ping pong, darts, and other fun games) and a living room area with multiple TVs. We have a kitchen area with a refrigerator (no water) with snacks, pizza, and beverages available. Head into town for shopping, coffee, and baked treats. Or head to the Chain for crystal clear water, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, skiing, or dining at one of Waupaca's signature restaurants. Clear Water Camping has a rich history. The location is where the stagecoach house (still standing) was built in 1847 to support the nearby granite quarry.
