Drive through a peaceful, tree-lined entrance that opens to a beautiful private lake nestled in nature. Continue to Pheasant Cottage, where you'll enjoy the gentle breeze through the trees and the tranquil views of Serenity Lake.
Pheasant Cottage is a custom 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin with its own private entrance. Our front gate remains locked at all times, and only registered guests receive access, ensuring a peaceful and private stay. Each cottage features its own lake view, outdoor hot tub overlooking Serenity Lake, private fire pit, and private beach where you can swim and fish right from your cottage.
The cottage sleeps up to nine guests with a double bed in the main bedroom, a double and single bed in the second bedroom, a double futon in the living room, and another double futon in the entryway. The bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom.
With 14 windows offering panoramic lake views from two sides of the cottage, you'll feel immersed in nature while enjoying the comfort of a cozy cabin. Natural pine finishes and custom details create a warm, rustic atmosphere.
Spend your days fishing from your private beach (no fishing license required), relaxing in the hot tub, or watching for local wildlife, including deer, porcupines, cardinals, blue jays, raccoons, hawks, owls, foxes, beavers, otters, and bald eagles.
Each cottage is separated by a couple of acres—about a football field's length of forest—providing excellent privacy for every guest.
Pets are welcome. Pet fee: $40 for the first pet for up to two nights, plus $10 per additional night. Additional pets are $20 each for up to two nights, plus $10 per additional night.
We have the floating oasis, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and row boats available for rentals or you are welcome to bring your own. They are $30 per day/$40 per day for the row boat but, if you rent them at the time you make your reservation and get them for the duration of your visit, they are $25 per day/$35 per day for the row boat and you get the last day free! If you are staying for 2 nights, you get an additional $10 off the subtotal. If you get a 2nd watercraft, you get an additional $5 off as a "multi-watercraft" discount; $10 off a 3rd; $15 off a 4th; $20 off a 5th, etc.
Minimum stay: Two nights (three nights for minor holidays and four nights for major holidays). Weekend rates apply to stays that include Friday or Saturday nights.
There is a security deposit, depending on the number of guests, pets, watercraft rentals and which cottage(s) that are rented. We collect your credit card information when you make your reservation and the amount is simply processed as an "authorization" when you arrive for your vacation. It will then drop off usually after 3-6 days (depending on your credit card or banking institution as they are all a little different!). If there are damages and/or excessive clean-up charges, we would attempt to contact you prior to charging the amount and it would be the cost of the actual amount, not the entire security deposit.

Cottages On Serenity Lake has four custom homes/cabins/cottages, on a small, 7-acre, private lake, called Serenity Lake, that boasts the best fishing in the entire country! And no fishing license is required!
Each home has its own out door hot tub (facing the lake!), fire pit and private beach.
We do allow an early check-in or a delayed check-out though it is for in the morning or evening and we have to block off the date before or the date after as it doesn't give us time to clean. Please inquire if you have questions.
Pheasant Cottage is not officially "wheel-chair accessible as everything is standard, but we do have those in wheelchairs come and haven't had any complaints of issues so please inquire if you have that as a concern and, keep in mind that, Bear's Den (one of our other cottages!), is handicap-accessible and followed handicap-accessible guidelines when built.
We are sitting right on Serenity Lake, surrounded by 80 acres of beautiful Wisconsin woods. Serenity Lake is a private lake and we own the land all around it so there is no public access and the only ones who get to enjoy Serenity Lake is our family & friends and our guests and their family and friends.
Each home is approximately 100 yards (a football field!) away from the other cottages, separated by a couple acres of woods and our front gate stays locked for privacy. We have about a 1/8 mile long driveway so you can feel comfortable allowing your children to ride their bikes up and down the driveway, go for walks or just to explore!
We have watercraft rentals (floating oasis', kayaks, paddle boards, canoes & row boats!), or you are welcome to bring your own.
We allow pets ($40 for the first one, for the first 2 days and then $10 each day after that; $20 for each additional pet, for the first 2 days and then $10 each day after that (or $75 & $50 respectively for a weekly!).
We also have a couple horse-shoe pits and a volleyball court that everyone can enjoy and Duck Trail which goes around Serenity Lake and is approximately a mile long.
We are also right on the snowmobile, ATV/UTV Route System so you can ride right from your cottage to the trails.
We have On-season for up to the 2nd week of September and then Off-season rates up to the 2nd weekend of May.
WE DO NOT BEGIN RENTALS ON SATURDAYS AS IT REMOVES TWO WEEKENDS FROM OTHER GUESTS FROM BEING ABLE TO BOOK A WEEKEND. WE DO NOT BEGIN RENTALS ON SUNDAYS! ANY OTHER DAY OF THE WEEK AND THROUGH SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS ARE FINE! Inquire if you have questions- thank you! :)
REGARDING THE CANCELLATION POLICY- Hip Camp does not offer the cancellation policy that we do. You can cancel up to 30 days prior to your visit with a $100 Cancellation Fee and you will get 100% of your funds back minus the $100 Cancellation Fee. If it is under 30 days, we will attempt to rebook your reservation and you will get up to 100% back minus the Cancellation Fee and any additional advertising we utilize to attempt to rebook it, based on booking it to another guest who has paid an equal to or higher amount as you have. Otherwise, you will get the difference we are able to collect from the replacement guest, minus the $100 Cancelation Fee and any additional advertising that we have utilized to attempt to rebook it.
Hip Camp's format does not seem to allow on-season and off-season rates so all rates are currently for on-season. Please inquire regarding off-season rates as they are cheaper. If we figure out a way to display both seasonal rates together, we will remove this notice.

Bear's Den is handicap-accessible and sleeps up to 10 guests with a double bed in each bedroom along with a single adult bunk bed, and a custom wood, double futon in the living room. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and has a stand up shower as well as a washer/dryer area.
With custom windows offering panoramic views of Serenity Lake and the woods, you'll feel immersed in nature while enjoying the comfort of a cozy cabin. Natural pine finishes and custom details create a warm, rustic atmosphere.
Spend your days fishing from your private beach (no fishing license required), relaxing in the hot tub, or watching for local wildlife, including deer, porcupines, cardinals, blue jays, raccoons, hawks, owls, foxes, beavers, otters, and bald eagles. Tall Pines Lodge is a custom 4-bedroom home with 3 bathrooms and the large basement is converted into a 5th bedroom with 4 adult-on-adult bunk beds (sleeping 16 adults just in them!), in the basement along with a TV and DVD player for a secondary relaxing area or an area for the children or teens while allowing the maing living room on the main floor for the adults.
Tall Pines Lodge has skylights in the main dining, kitchen and living area so it has an abundant amount of natural light. You have your own private entrance, along with a double-car garage, a covered deck, a 7-person outdoor hot tub facing Serenity Lake, your own fire pit and beach right at your cottage! Our front gate remains locked at all times, and only registered guests receive access, ensuring a peaceful and private stay. Each cottage features its own lake view, outdoor hot tub overlooking Serenity Lake, private fire pit, and private beach where you can swim and fish right from your cottage.
Tall Pines Lodge sleeps 35 guests (though we have had almost 60 guests stay in there during one visit!) and has its own laundry room as well.

This little lake is a gem. Very healthy with plenty of cute animals a few frogs hopping around. It was great for swimming and when I come back I’ll be fishing it too. We enjoyed the cabin which was well equipped and feels freshly renovated. The setting was lovely and conveniently close to Black River falls for a meal out or run to the store. Finally, the owner was attentive and immediately addressed any requests. I am recommending it to friends.
