Just a short 200 foot walk up the hill into the woods from your parking spot. Water spigot on your site, and 12v solar generator supplied to provide lighting and USB charging of your important devices. Mr. Joe’s Campsite is an absolute hidden gem. From the moment I arrived, I felt this instant sense of calm—like the whole place just lets you breathe a little easier. It’s wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and perfectly tucked away from all the usual chaos, making it the ideal spot to unwind. The grounds are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully maintained, and you can tell there’s real care put into keeping everything comfortable for guests. Whether you’re sitting by the fire, sipping your morning coffee, or just listening to the sounds of nature, the atmosphere is genuinely relaxing. Mr. Joe himself is warm, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in his campsite. It makes the whole experience feel personal in the best way. If you’re looking for a calm, cozy getaway with just the right touch of charm, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back!

We’ve stayed at Camp Moonshadow twice and love the site, the places to visit nearby, and the hospitality we’ve received from Robb and Jeanne! I could not recommend staying here more. So quiet, pet friendly, an outdoor shower, and the woods are something straight out of a fairy tale. You will regret not staying here!

Holly is an amazing post she's very friendly and kind. She has a beautiful piece of property located in quaint little piece of the woods. There's plenty of room for parking of a car and a RV. She is very accommodating. Also has a beautiful fire pit for nights outside. I was struggling with my propane in my RV and Holly was kind enough to let us use her grill.

It had a very pretty, open area for tents and vehicles, very close to river, and the host was very responsive. Good fishing opportunities and a nice fire ring/ grill and outhouse. And it felt secluded! I will definitely come again!

Great little campground, nothing fancy but everything was clean and well kept. The host was great and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Checked in with us to make sure everything was going good. Definitely planning to go back.

Nice quite and secluded rustic camping. Plenty of room in between each camp site(50 to 100 feet) with tree's and bushes in between. Porta potty was very clean with plenty of supplies. There is even a disc golf course on site. There is also a convenience store and Dollar General 3minutes away.

Quiet and peaceful. Sites were very private, and the host was great at communication. Not many amenities, but it is great for rustic style camping. Would recommend. I'd like to try the disc golf course next time

This is our second year camping here to fish for salmon. It’s well run and so convenient for being able to walk to the river. Bathroom is clean and hot showers are nice to have.

Nice RV spot. Pretty secluded from the outside but you are pretty close to some buildings and the RV camper they rent so not SUPER private. Great spot overall though

Excellent place! Robb and Jenn were very gracious and helpful upon our arrival. The kitchen is wonderful and well stocked. Portapotties are super clean and well maintained. This is one of the best hipcamps we have had the pleasure to experience.

site #15, 20 and 30 amp plugins are shown in the right of the picture. They are shared with site #14. septic hookup is near the trees to the left of the electrical box. Water fill station near the bathhouse.

My husband and I rented a site here for our anniversary and we had a great time! The owner was very welcoming and super chill! The showers and restrooms are very clean and smelt good. We will bring our kids here too since there’s an open area with things for kids to do and places for parents to hang out! We came up to ride the trails and there are plenty of spots to start that fun! Thank you, Thomas for being a great host! I’m sure we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Secluded River Ridge Campsite

Randy's spot on the Betsie River was truly perfect. It was a great, quiet place in the woods with plenty of open space for a camper, tent, and yard games. We really appreciated that the open space was grass and not sand or dirt like many camp spots end up being. Randy was incredibly helpful when a small problem came up and took the time to make sure everything was 100% perfect. We would highly recommend this space and would love to come back next year.

Robb and Jeanne have a beautiful place near Sleeping Bears! They’ve thought of everything; our wooded RV spot was set up with privacy, fire pit, table/chairs, electric and water. We also had access to an amazing “glamp kitchen” with a full stove/oven/frig, a pavilion which would be great if the weather was bad; horse shoes, volleyball, and more. To top it off, they are wonderful, friendly people. Robb even had his bluegrass bandy entertain us Friday night!

Fantastic place! We loved the orchard and host Dan was very accommodating he took us back to a secluded spot with lots of room. The next morning we enjoyed the fresh baked goods and may items at the farm store. We would definitely stay again.
