Had an amazing time on Dan’s land. Our site came with a hose for running water, a mini solar powered generator for charging electronics, a fire pit with a cooking grate, and a picnic table! All of these amenities made our stay efficient, enjoyable, and relaxing. In addition to the on site amenities, Dan gave us excellent hiking recommendations. There are a plethora of amazing hikes all within 15-20 minutes, and Dan helped us find the ones best suited to what we were looking for. Last but not least, the shower and porta-Jon, located a short walk from the site, made staying fresh and clean easy! Nothing quite like a hot shower after a day of hiking in the dirt and sand. Overall, Dan was an amazing host and I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a site with considerable amenities in a great location for a very fair price.

A very accomodating place to stay

Dan is a very accomodating host. The site up the hill is far enough from the other 2 sites he hosts to feel private. The porta potty was kept very clean and well stocked, my whole family LOVED the solar shower (in fact it is the best solar shower we have ever enjoyed) and the solar charging station at camp was an extra plus for the kids. Having potable water available directly at your campsite is also a huge advantage. Red the rooster across the street is also a wonderful addition as he is just close enough to enjoy but far enough away to sleep through. The Grace Rd. Beach is a wonderful place to spend your days and sunsets, just a 10 min drive away! 10/10 would camp here again!

Beautiful location and very friendly host who thought of everything you could possibly need. Clean bathroom facilities and a nice hot shower!! If you want a great breakfast/lunch, LakeSide Cafe in Bear Lake was fantastic!!

Fantastic place! We loved the orchard and host Dan was very accommodating he took us back to a secluded spot with lots of room. The next morning we enjoyed the fresh baked goods and may items at the farm store. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Spot For Sleeping Bear Dune

A perfect quiet spot to visit Sleeping Bear. We also caught a fantastic sunset at Elberta Beach, just minutes from the camp spot. We stayed in our 31 travel trailer. There was plenty of room to circle our rig and back onto the gravel pad. The gravel pad was perfectly level, and the power and water hookups worked great. We'll definitely stay again if we're in the area.

As the listing says, this tent site is secluded and up a short hill. Dan provides a wagon to transport your gear easily. The outdoor shower is basic but met my needs for a hot shower in the morning! The campsite is quiet except for the occasional rooster crowing from a nearby farm. The stars are beautiful, and there is a U pick blueberry farm down the road.

Quiet and peaceful. Dan checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the out door shower. Close to Fruithaven Preserve which had hiking through a beautiful forest and spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Just a few flight of stairs down and your on the beach.

This was a very pleasant site. Easy access to water and electricity. Nice new picnic table and fire pit with a cooking grate. The site was easy to locate just a couple of miles off US 31, the main road. Looking forward to a return visit next year,

It was more than I expected! Dan was an awesome host! The site was level and private. He spends 6 months out of the year traveling in a restored bus, so he set up his sites the way he would want them to be. He met me when I came in and helped me get parked. I was surrounded by forrest. He keeps fire wood, dog poop bags, fire starter ( his mother makes them out of dryer lint, toilet paper rolls and birthday candles) and packages of brochures for local attractions. He also installed an outdoor shower and porta-can for his guests. If I'm ever back in Michigan I would return to this site in a heart beat! Good job Dan, thanks for everything!

This place was amazing with the privacy we expect from a Hipcamp and all the amenities that came with it like electricity and water. Our host was super friendly and so was his dogs. Great place to stay to adventure out to the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

We enjoyed the secluded camping spot on Dan‘s property! It was exactly what we wanted and liked and worked great with a tent! Just a little removed from the other camping spot spots, but not too far away from the restroom and shower and trash. Dan was a great host and provided all the necessities… A picnic table, wood, firestarter and water spicket. We enjoyed the rural location and being out in nature! Definitely would come again if in the area.

The amenities were all as advertised. The outdoor shower was a highlight after a day of hiking. The camp site was also well spaced from the other camp sites, making it feel more private.

I cannot recommend Dan's camp enough! He greeted me on arrival and made sure I had everything I needed each day. The outdoor shower and on-site bathroom were also incredible amenities to have. This camp experience was a 5/5 and I can't wait to get back up to Frankfort to stay again.

Our host Dan was fantastic. He’s gone above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. An outhouse, outdoor but private shower, level well maintained camp sites, electric hook ups and water hook ups are just some of the things that make your stay so fantastic. It is very peaceful and there is plenty of space to swing your camper around and back right into your spot. We really enjoyed out stay and will definitely camp here again.

Dan was a super host. He met me upon arriving and checked on me daily to ensure I had everything I needed. Dan also gave me tips for places to go in the area and provides each camper with a packet of tourist information. The site was great, plenty of room and just as described. Would definitely return.
