Thick woods, playground, full 18-hole disc golf course, and beautiful trees. Minutes from dozens of beautiful lakes, golf courses, Sand Dune‘s, light houses, vineyards, or maybe you would prefer to just sit around the fire, and tell stories and laugh. Duck Lake, Green Lake, Silver Lake, Long Lake, Lake Ann, Lake Dubonet are minutes away. Interlochen Golf Course right down the road. Bradleys, Dilbert's, Hofbrau, and Oakys are great restaurants within 3 miles.

I stayed here for two nights and honestly, I almost don't want to write a review because I don't want too many people finding this place! 😂 Mr. Joe is a super nice guy and a great host. The campsites are very secluded, and the whole place is incredibly quiet and peaceful. It’s just a plain old good place to get away from everything. The sites were clean, the porta-potties were clean, and there’s plenty of firewood available for purchase. There’s also well water available. This time of year, there were blackberries growing all over the place, which was a really nice bonus. There’s also a disc golf course and a small playground for the kids, so there’s something for families to enjoy as well. At night, you can hear the coyotes howling in the distance. If you're looking for a place with lots of activity, this probably isn't it—and that's exactly what I liked about it. There is some construction going on right now, which was the only thing that was a little annoying during my stay. But honestly, it didn't take away from the overall experience. All in all, 10 out of 10 for me. Quiet, secluded, clean, and peaceful, with a really nice host. I’d definitely stay here again.

Joe is such an amazing host and was so sweet and helpful! This was my second time camping here & I would highly recommend it. The campsites are beautiful, the port a potties are very clean, & Joe will make sure you have everything you need. Had a lovely time with my friends this year and I'm looking forward to coming back next summer :)

Campsite was clean and spacious. Campsites here are spread quite aways apart. This is very good so you are getting a more outdoor experience. Instead of dealing with people being around. Myself I go camping to get away from my hectic life. So this spots is exactly what I was hoping it would be.

Exceptional and serene campground. Each site is tucked far back among berry bushes and trees, creating a private camping experience while still being part of a safe and welcoming campground. There were short hiking trails and yard games throughout, it is very well thought out to be a comfortable and fun place to be! Joe was a very kind and respectful host. I had the pleasure of meeting him while he was making his rounds through the campground, and he was friendly and attentive. Fantastic location, an even better campsite, and an outstanding host. I will definitely be coming back!

The camp ground was quite, our site was well maintained, the porta potties where clean and equipped with a foot pump sink to wash your hands. Joe was quick to respond to any questions I had. Joe also suplies a bucket of water to put out your fire and our site came with a citronella lamp to help keep mosquitoes at bay. The campground is a good halfway point between Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City and not too far from some nice spots to grab a bite and drink. Overall great experience!

We had a great experience camping at this campground! There was a picnic table and a fire ring at our site which was nice. The only thing that should be noted is that the path around the campground is a bit uneven so depending on what type of car you drive just keep that in mind. Would recommend!!

When you first pull into Mr. Joe’s Campground in Interlochen, you might not know what to expect at first glance. But as soon as you settle in, you realize you’ve landed in one of the most awesome and beautiful camping spots around. The surroundings are gorgeous, the atmosphere is super peaceful, and Mr. Joe is an exceptional host who genuinely cares about his guests and makes you feel right at home. Hands down, this has become one of my absolute favorite places to stay. If you're looking for a great place to pitch a tent or park your rig in Northern Michigan, don't pass this one up!

This campground rocks! All the campsites are spaced out well. You can’t see your neighbors at all. Every site is tucked back in the trees and spacious. There’s even a disc golf course! Mr. Joe is awesome. Very friendly guy who told us to reach out with anything we needed. We will be back for sure! Beat any state park I’ve camped at with all the privacy & truly being in the woods.

Mr Joe's is a nice, very private campground. All of the sites were spacious and most were shaded. Good for RVs or tents, and the location was great as it was close to several lakes and not too far from towns. Joe had firewood available and was ready to help us if we needed anything.

Nice quite and secluded rustic camping. Plenty of room in between each camp site(50 to 100 feet) with tree's and bushes in between. Porta potty was very clean with plenty of supplies. There is even a disc golf course on site. There is also a convenience store and Dollar General 3minutes away.

Campsites were great! Lots of room in between the sites so felt pretty private. Lots of wood available as well with a wheelbarrow to make the transport to campsites easy. Had a couple of questions and the host was super responsive. The directions on Google maps took us to the wrong spot, but the Apple Maps one worked. Was tough since it was dark when we arrived, would’ve been easy to find during the day.

We had an amazing experience at this campsite! The sites were private and quiet, which made it easy to relax. The trails were very well maintained, and the disc golf course was such a fun surprise for a random camping spot. The host greeted us warmly and was so kind.
