Cathy has a lovely campsite on the shore of Lake Huron. There are neighbors nearby but the only real noise came from their dog. They would shut him in their pole barn when they'd leave and the poor baby would whine and cry. It was a treat for us to have electricity as that was a first for us. The beach is very nice and of course, the view is fantastic. This site may be more expensive than others but consider how much you would spend for a waterfront hotel room. Splurge on yourself and rent this campsite. You won't regret it.

What makes this site unforgettable is the private rocky beach just steps away. Mornings bring spectacular sunrises over Lake Huron, nights are filled with the sound of waves rolling in, and the shoreline is covered in rocks of every kind waiting to be explored. The campsite itself was spacious and set up with electric hook-up, a picnic table, a firepit, and firewood provided. Well cared for and in a great location, it’s also an easy jumping-off point for Oqueoc Falls and Rogers City. It's definitely on my "visit again" list!

The site was clean and well-kept, though it’s much closer to a large house than the photos suggest. I also had a mix-up with the 30-amp hookup that was quickly resolved, but the follow-up conversation with the host was uncomfortable despite my apology and offer to cover any costs.

Everything went well! Cathy met us at the site, showed us around, and answered any questions we had then off she went! Great site, right on Lake Huron’s western shore!!! Great for a beautiful sunrise!!! We would definitely recommend!!

Great campsite, location and beach!

We loved Cathy’s site! Easy access for our camper, power on site, fire wood included, maybe 15 footsteps to the beach, and Cathy was there giving the property a fresh mow and to show us around. The campsite is tucked near the trees and there are other homes and sheds nearby but the site still felt very private, quiet and peaceful.
Cathy’s site was a great starting point for the things we wanted to see over the weekend: Cheboygan State Park, Ocqueoc Falls and Alpena. Weekend highlights were dinner at Rosa’s Squeeze Inn, Alpena Flower Festival, and we saw our first ever black bear in the wild as we were driving through Black Mountain Forest area.
It was very sad to see all the tree damage from last winter’s ice storm, but we loved the area and the campsite, highly recommended!

The lake view is incredible and it’s a peaceful and quiet spot. Lots of birdsong and tranquil. We highly recommend a stay. We stayed memorial weekend which was cold and rainy but a perfect time to explore the area via car.

The site was just as advertised. Right on the beach, yet felt very private. Cathy was a great host. She met us there at check in and everything went very smoothly. I would return for a repeat visit without hesitation!

We had an amazing time staying at Cathy’s land. The lake truly is only a few steps away and it is so calming. It’s like a private hideaway and exactly what we needed. Cathy is incredible! She stayed up and waited to help us park and see where we were going since we ended up being a little later than expected. We are already in talks of our next trip there! ♥️

We stayed here for a long weekend for the Memorial weekend holiday and had a wonderful time! Even though the beach area is public it has a very private feel. We spent a good amount of time out there with our dog looking for rocks and letting the dog play in the water and never once saw another person. It was nice to take our chairs out there in the morning and enjoy our coffee while the water was calm and the sun was shining. The camping spot was spacious and grassy, and Cathy even left us firewood which we found super convenient! The area was nice and quiet and it was a great place to go and enjoy nature. Cathy was a great host and I highly recommend the site! We will definitely be back the next time we decide to come to the area.

Camp Site 1 was plenty large enough for our 40 foot Class A motor home. Directions were clear, approach a little narrow but very doable. 30 amp power clean and site reasonably level and freshly mowed. Enough with the technical stuff! Shore line is beautiful and offers great walks. Cathy is very friendly and is engaged in making your visit a pleasant one. Highly recommend.

Kathy’s site was exactly what I was looking for to get away! The rental experience was seamless, and the directions were great! I hate to give such a raving review because I don’t want this site to become too popular, but this location is deserving of a raving review! Thank you Kathy for sharing your beautiful slice of heaven on the shores of Lake Huron with Gracie and I! For those considering renting the site note that there are houses nearby as stated but his did not bother me at all. Also, I don’t feel like this is an ideal place for a large group, because it feels more quaint and quiet. . I will certainly be back! Five stars for the entire experience!

We really enjoyed camping on Cathy's property! Great spot for a peaceful camping trip. Just a few steps to a beautiful beach area, or take a short walk down the dirt road to another beach area. We a spectacular sunrise and enjoyed watching the freighters go by. The site was easy to access, level w/a gravel pad, firepit, complimentary firewood, and picnic table. There are neighbors nearby, but we didn't hear or see much of anyone. It was quiet and safe. Great jumping off point for day trips to the falls, Mackinac, Charlevoix, Rogers City and Hoeft, plus there are several roadside beaches within a short drive. Cathy and her dog, Skyla, were very friendly and welcoming. We would recommend and hope to stay there again!

I loved camping on Cathy's land right on Lake Huron. It was beautiful and easy access to the beach. Also not far from checking out Cheboygan, Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island. Cathy greeted me at the campsite and helped me back in, she was a wonderful host!

What a beautiful site! You can see.Lake Huron thru the trees, and a 5-step walk thru the trail in those trees puts you on the beach! A word of advice to future campers - GPS will take you directly there but there isn't a sign that names the road. It looks like a two-track so we second guessed if our GPS was right. Look for the red sign with 46 on it and you're there. Cathy and her beautiful, sweet dog Skylla were there to meet us when we arrived, as she has her own campsite nearby. There was fire wood and a fire ring, and she provided an electrical extension cord when ours was too short. We spent pur days checking out Cheboygan and Mac City. We also had some drinks with locals up the road at "Thirsty's Bar" and breakfast down the road at The Chuck wagon. It was a great trip. There are a couple of homes by the site but we never heard a peep from those folks. We fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves. It was peaceful and perfect.
