Overall the place was great , pulling in and backing up was straightforward when you come down the road it's the first left leading into the property, half U shape driveway pull in back up ,
Electric hookup was in the back of the building , we didn't hook up too the water but the electric worked perfectly, the building inside was clean bathroom was clean , toilets and shower worked no issues... The washer and dryer worked which was an added plus , firewood on site was great , fire ring was nice and the bench was a plus, no major concerns , my son had a blast , and the ORV trails where literally ten minutes. Atlanta trails was fun me and my family put 20/30 miles easily out there. Overall would stay again due to the fact he has a bathroom on site which is clean and close too ORV trails.

The property is nice. Private due to trees around. However, there are many low hanging branches, mostly pine. We had to take some down to get our 5r back to the utilities. Unfortunately, we ended up with roof damage. I would not recommend this site for larger rigs (ours is 13' 4" high). Also, the entrance off the road is a narrow 90° angle, so made it tough to get in. And the water... it was not usable for anything other than flushing. It was the color of tea most of the time. Had to get more bottled water. The 50 amp worked great. Overall, I think it would be good for a smaller trailer or camper van (except the water).

Enjoyed camping on Jason's land. Lots of elbow room and easy pull in and set up. Nice little bathroom with shower available. Took our bikes into Alpena to ride some of the bike trails there and took a drive in the evenings in the Atlanta area in case we could see some Elk. Also nearby lakes to fish or kayak.

Jason’s site was exactly as described super clean, clean bathroom and shower right next door also washer and dryer. He left the light on so we could see where we were going. We were able to level the class a Motorhome easily and hook up to the 30 amp power there is also 50% power. It is a lovely quiet spot and we were able to cycle into the town where we had a lovely meal at the diner. Portions are massive and we all left full. This is a great spot and we would love to stay again. Thank you to Jason.

We camped in our little travel trailer at Jewett Creek farm for little over a week and truly enjoyed this private peaceful place! Having a such a nice bathroom and even laundry was a wonderful amenity. And we had fun exploring the local area.

Jason is very responsive and a great host. The site is nice and the bathroom is a great plus!
The sewer hookup is higher than most and higher than the camper discharge, making it difficult to dump the tanks. Bring a portable tank to help dump tanks and utilize the bathroom on site when possible.
Be aware the ground is not gravel so it gets very soft with lots of rain. Bring a board to help with camper leveling.

Oh, my, this place is just lovely! It is a huge corner lot and if you had kids, they could run and run and run! The view just relaxing around the fire was very serene. And the amount of firewood Jason leaves you was amazing. Neighbors across the street, you would not even know they were there. And the bathroom he built was so adorable. And yes, the water does smell like sulfur, but host lets you know it’s not potable, but my husband took a shower and he thought it was pretty good. What a great spot for jumping off to do other adventures. 3 miles from a boat landing that took us to one of the most beautiful places we have ever kayaked, if you turn left from the boat launch. We also found a launching spot in the little park in Hillman that took us on the north branch of the thunder Bay river that probably was the most gorgeous place we have ever been. Also went bike riding on the north eastern state trail. And on a day it rained all day and evening we went adventuring up to Rogers City and other places. This Hipcamp is centrally located for all kinds of things. Jason was an amazing communicator also. A great Hipcamp!

Camped here in my 17' trailer for a week while exploring area around Thunder Bay and Alpena. Wonderful alternative to an RV park or crowded state park. Private, roomy camp on a large corner lot with screening trees and foliage and -- bonus! -- a bathroom with shower and laundry(!). There's a 30 amp electrical connection on the side of the building. We did not hook up to the water because it had of the sulphur smell, but there was no issue with showering or using the laundry. Would definitely use again.

This was an awesome Hip camp! Spacious yard & semi circular driveway made parking our camper a breeze. The added bonus of having an indoor bathroom with shower & washer, dryer made us feel like we were Glamping! It’s a hop,skip & a jump to go to Fletchers Pond which looked like it would be amazing to fish (we will definitely bring a pole next time) If you love to camp & be surrounded by nature not people then this spot is perfect! The site is large, spacious and gorgeous. We were very happy with how well everything was set up and accessible. We will definitely be back. Side note: the grass is so nicely maintained and lush that our camper and site stayed clean.

The spacious property was well maintained, beautiful, and provided a wonderful place for our family to get away for the holiday weekend. It was so nice to have some amenities of home while we camped, and Jason was very responsive to messages. He's a great host and our family highly recommends this property!

Just what we were looking for! We've decided that we are NOT campground people. We wanted lots of space to pitch the tent and for the kids to run while still having convenient bathroom/shower access. Plenty of privacy but not too far from town. Fire pit with a grill and picnic table. Host had great communication! He also left plenty of firewood and toilet paper.

We brought our son here for his first tent camping trip, and we are so glad we did! Jason was a great host who was quick to ask if we needed anything (we didn't- everything was great!) and offered suggestions for fun local amusements to check out with our kiddo. In our evenings at camp, we enjoyed all kinds of wildlife, from a huge flock of turkeys to deer! We also appreciated the quiet, rural setting, with respectful neighbors across the street and quiet, peaceful nights - much less noisy and hectic than local campgrounds!

Camping with little kids can be tough. But this spot made it totally easy. The site is easy to find, lots of shade, clean, mowed grass, lots of space for the kids to run around, a double driveway so the kids could ride their bikes around with out going into the road, plus the added advantage of a shower and laundry on site! We accidentally tripped a fuse when my husband plugged in his extension cord to the outdoor socket, (the cord was ripped and we didn't know it!) but I messaged Jason and he was there within minutes to switch the fuse back, AND he was super cool and very nice about the whole thing. I would highly recommend this sight, and would absolutely stay here again.

This place is amazing!
You get a private corner lot with a handful of trees and lots of wide open space. It is a prime star gazing experience on a clear night.
The picnic table, fire pit, and cooking grate are perfect to gather around and make some epic meals.
The provided bathroom and shower work wonderfully and super clean when you arrive. The only complaint is the high amount of sulfur in the water will tarnish any jewelry you have on so please take it off before using the water.
Honestly, don't look further to stay anywhere else in the Alpena area.

Small town (Hillman) a few miles away, the other large town (Alpena) is about 20 miles away. You can find pretty much everything your need close by. There are plenty of places for fishing and other water related fun. The host is awesome, takes out garabage and replaces the water filters regularly. Nice size yard to play catch with your dog and the neighbors wave but still respect privacy. The shower, indoor toilet, and laundry machines provided come in handy ( I have a self contained Rig). Only downside for me is the place was made more tents campers, but he is improving as he goes. The septic point for waste water is higher and required me to have a transfer tank to make it work. Just a small thing but all in all i give them 9.5 out of 10.
