Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure. We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden. Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground! We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife.Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour.In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house.The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. The mosquitoes are done for the winter and the air is brisk.

This fun property is just under 7 acres - butted up to another 12 acres of public land (and boat launch) with trails, boardwalk and a dock on 51 acre Lake Eleven. The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. If available, the cabin and sites may be rented together however the owners, Jim and Maria, use the cabin much of the summer leaving just the RV sites available. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. There are surprises galore around the property; big foots to be found tucked around the property, games, and overall just a fun place to be. This was a run-down fishing cabin Jim and Maria lovingly brough back to life as a second home and they delight in sharing it. Jim often referred to it as "The Tincan" while working on it as it was - indeed, a tin shack and the name stuck. Kate, your booking coordinator, helps Jim and Maria tend to the administrative side of getting the property booked and keeping the details in order. Once booked you'll get contact info for Kate, who will take care of most communications and logistics, and Jim/Maria who will also be available to help as needed.

This is a great spot off the beaten path. A hidden gem. Scott and his wife were super welcoming on their property and we're able to help with anything we needed. Deer walked thru the camp and property. Lovely walking path thru the property as well. Very welcoming. We will definitely be back soon.

This Lil’ cabin was such a wonderful stay after a day of hiking nearby trails! It had all the creature comforts needed to keep warm, heat up water for cocoa, and the cleanest porta john nearby! The host was very kind and gracious with lit lamps to find the bathroom. We definitely plan to be back in the future!

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins

The cabin was so adorable and it was perfectly warm all night with the little wood stove. Beds were comfortable and I usually have back pain but no issue with the mattresses! The property was beautiful and the host was so kind, he gave is a tour of the cabin and showed us how everything worked, in the morning my dad wanted to see the other cabin and he gave us a mini tour of that one as well. They have a dog on the property but he's super sweet, no barking heard at all. Lovely fall colors and just 15 minutes away from the Muskegon state park off lake Michigan (highly recommend for hikes or picnic). Would come again!

1 night at Blooming Bus Farms

The place looked great when we arrived, especially lit up at night. Inside, it had that familiar campfire-and-wood smell that made it feel comfortable right away. The heated blanket was the saving grace of the stay. It was in the 30s, and the small radiator heater struggled to keep up, so most of the evening was spent bundled up together under the blanket. The cabin is very small, and the property itself isn’t large either, so you can hear some street noise. Being close to town was convenient, though. We grabbed Chinese carry-out and it was surprisingly good after a cold day. Leslie was thrilled to meet the alpacas, which added a fun moment to the trip. There are several areas set up for groups, and I would definitely come back with friends. The space works well for hanging out and enjoying a simple, low-key getaway.

Ed’s Grand Cabin was just what we needed for a weekend getaway! The wood stove kept the cabin nice and warm as we had some cold weather and even a little bit of snow as the winter season approaches. It was a nice, quiet space to relax, cook, and enjoy a fire inside and outside the cabin. We enjoyed a walk on the well maintained trails around the property! Definitely would return in the future!

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins

Spent the weekend at Ed's with my boyfriend during late October, when the leaves were changing. We were looking for a cozy getaway in the woods, and his cabin/land MORE than delivered. His cabin was stocked with everything (+ some) to keep us entertained, while locking ourselves away from the hustle and bustle of weekly work. Fortunately, we didn't get much cell service here, which gave us the opportunity to be fully disconnected. We filled our days hiking his many trails scattered throughout his beautiful woods, and tending to the outside fire ring and maintaining the fire in the mini wood stove in the cabin. Ed's cabin provided us with the most relaxing weekend and we cannot recommend it enough if you're needing a weekend to slow down, pause, and reflect on your never-ending To-Do list. We will certainly be back in the future! Thank you Ed, for creating such a space like "Dalton Traders Lil' Cabin" for people like us, to enjoy the beautiful luxury of being able to immerse ourselves in the great outdoors.

Weekend Trip to Blooming Bus Farms

Had a wonderful weekend at Bloomin Farm. The campsite was well tended and Melissa had left the wood we purchased near the fire pit as well as a lovely welcome sign and flowers. We had our own compost toilet and in warmer weather there is a hot shower tent on the campsite as well. There is some road noise but it was not bothersome at all. And our second night the farm hosted a Halloween event with food and live music, which was great fun and Melissa gave us plenty of warning so we knew it was happening. Would definitely stay there again!

The Crow’s Nest is such a cute and wonderful getaway from the rest of the world. Beautiful wooded property, a lovely walking trail, and a personal fire ring. I was delighted when I arrived and my partner and I were both saddened when it was time to leave. I highly recommend the location. I will absolutely be returning!!
