Partly run by a generator, heat will be supplied by a space heater that we would like turned down to 66 at night (heating blankets provided if that is too cold). . Bathroom has a
composting toilet. (Usually changed every 3rd guest). Ac is hooked to an extension cord . We provide a Battery pump shower where you have to fill the bag with water & foot pump sink like used at festivals. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware.

Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent.
*Fall/winter info:
Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. Keep in mind, The only heat will be a 1500 watt heater.

You will enter from a private drive and follow the trail markers to the cabin. Other markers will guide you through the hiking trails on the property.

We're located between the two popular vacation destinations of Glen Arbor and Leland, MI - both a short scenic drive in either direction. The peninsula has tons of recreation: hiking, biking, beaches, boating, fishing, dining, shopping, wine tasting, and visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Our farm produces pastured, all natural meat, including pork, beef, goat and fresh eggs/seasonal veggies. See the hens roaming, cows and goats grazing in the fenced-in pasture. A variety of cuts of meat from our freezers are available for sale or get a tour of the farm ~ Just ask! You may simply enjoy the scene at your leisure.
SITE DETAILS: Each camp site has woodchips, gravel surrounding a bonfire ring, a clothesline and neatly stacked firewood for sale. Our sites accomodate 2 adults and their minors. We recommend that larger groups or multiple adults book more than one site next to each other (sites 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 are good for this). Quiet hours are enforced between 10pm-7am. This is our home and farm, not a campground, please think of staying here that way.
A water pump (for delicious drinking water straight from our well) and outdoor solar shower are located at camp.
Our land borders the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. You'll be
just a few miles from access to beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. Relax in the sand, hunt for rocks, hike a trail, kayak or paddle-board and watch an epic sunset.
School Lake, known for its fishing from non-motorized boats or a quiet place to paddle. 2 Miles away, access the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, a non-motorized 27 mile groomed trail that follows the scenic M-22 from our location all the way to Empire, MI.
2.8 miles from our camp, you'll find a Mountain Bikers paradise at Palmer Woods Forest Preserve, with various hiking trails and a 6 mile mountain bike trail.

The land was originally bought to be a hippy community- but sadly people grew up and moved on, leaving my father as the lone survivor of the property. My husband and I have recently purchased the land from him and want to make it into something beautiful- a new community of sorts. We are excited for you to come and camp on our property! We have lots of fun things planned for the property and will be making improvements as we go! It all takes time and a lot of hard work- but we are making it into something special, and we thank you for being apart of the journey.

Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle. We have basic electricity- we have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area with trails, a natural pond and creek as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself.
While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked.
We are very close to several rivers, an easy day trip to Lake Michigan. We are in a very nice happy medium to a lot of Michigan favorite spots.
Check out the zoo, breweries, casino, biking trails, local restaurants and attractions.
Come and enjoy the quiet country- and get some amazing star lit skies.
We can accommodate large groups, or family gatherings. Large groups (over 10) must add on an additional portable toilet to their stay- if staying more than one night. (seasonal only)
We have an open air shower (see photos) that is cold water- but can be hot on sunny days. We have added in a wood fire tub, to relax under the stars. We also have an outdoor sink on site.
Well trained- recall ready pets are welcomed- please pick up after your pet. We do have free range ducks that use the pond- who should be respected as well as barn cats. Leashes are required for all dogs who are not recall trained, and are dangerous to our animals.
We do a meet and greet with our guests and will show you to the space; go over any information that we need to with you, and then we try and leave you to the space so you can experience it for yourself and enjoy your time.
We are proud to be a certified pollinator sanctuary, and do not spray our property for insects. Please do not use any foggers while on property.
Visit our seasonal farm stand for fresh produce, eggs, and some beautiful flowers and herbs.

As soon as I arrived I was greeted by the smiling face of the Patron Saint of Goodwill and Love, Benevolent Eternal Queen of all who travel, seek, and Love, Dolly. And that's all I needed to know to be sure I was in the right place. Actually, this was after meeting with the hosts who showed me everything i needed to know, but my brain was fried after very long drive. They were patient with me. The RV is spacious and comfortable. (Zora- puppy) and I were able to have 3 guests without any issue. The couch is tricky to fold down and it is tippy if you sit on the edge, but it is surprisingly comfortable. windows really bring the outdoors in and the sound of rain is quite nice. The forest is a beautiful maple forest with mixed woods all around. The campsites aren't walk-in private, but they are pretty private and have good stands of trees in between them which helps. It made a comfy, no fuss base from which to explore the whole region and soak in fall beauty. I would not hesitate to book here again, in fact, i'm sure I will and I look forward to it. There is so much I didn't get to and would love to experience. I had hoped to take my puppy onto Lost lake IF it was sandy vs mud/mucky... it IS sandy, still didn't get to it. I would have liked to go 4 wheeling, didn't get to it. i would love to go snowmobiling then go into the wood fired sauna. ... maybe that's the next trip.

Amazing property! My dog and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet, peaceful, clean - and beautiful to hike / walk your dog.
Saw deer, turkeys and I think even a groundhog, and my dog loved to sniff out all the trails.
We also had real privacy - After arriving & texting the host, he came to bring us some firewood, afterwards I didn‘t come across anyone during the whole weekend. While the 3 sites are connected by trails you can put up a „privacy please“ sign close to your site so that the other guests don‘t walk into your area.

Raquel and Kevin’s property is beautiful! The best way to describe it is serene. Mornings were so peaceful, hearing the birds in the morning flitting around the site and feeling the sun’s rays slowly warm up the site.
The location was great- only about 15-25 mins from any site in sleeping bear dunes, and being on the eastern side it felt a bit quieter.
Also, Raquel was kind enough to drop off some eggs for me when their roadside stand was out.
I’m looking forward to coming back sometime in the near future!

Our stay at Waymeet was excellent. Our hosts were super responsive, our tent at Hawthorne was clean and spacious, and we were able to cook at the outdoor kitchen setup. We also got to meet the yaks, horse, and chickens. It was easy to access and a great home base for exploring the Ann Arbor and Novi areas.

The camp set up was perfect for access to ride to the dragon trail- adding a map in workshop would be a benefit, if we had not talked to our camping neighbor it may have been a mystery. We loved the idea that we did not have to use a campsite that was wall-to-wall campers on the supersized campsites that circle the hardy river, this catered to like minded bikers/adventurers. The outdoor shower set up seemed a little rustic when we saw it on the reviews but like everyone commented it was excellent - the beer garden, again, awesome concept and well executed - We were already planning to be back next season on the drive home.

Ed was a great host! Super clean and well maintained property. The port a potty was probably the cleanest I’ve ever used. There was a large group staying at the camp site when I was there but there’s enough space between areas that I couldn’t hear or see them. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back!

This campsite was perfect. Spacious, level, extremely private, and plenty of room to set up however you want.
The host was friendly and easygoing and everything was easy to find and clearly labeled.
The best part was the solitude. It felt peaceful and safe. I could hear distant traffic or a lawn mower only occasionally, and it was so faint that it never took me out of the experience or disturbed my peace.
The site had a picnic table, fire ring, pit toilet, and covered firewood stand with plenty of wood. The trails deserve a mention too. Some sites have a concept of a trail—these trails were wide, clear, easy to follow, and rivaled any parks.
