The property was a former house that I lived in that burned down around 2000. I’ve kept the property and have been continuously working to improve its beauty ever since. It is not perfect, but is still a work in progress. It’s peaceful during the day and the stars at night are Amazing. Thank you Learn more about this land: Hello and welcome to Grateful Acres!! I have two sites available with more to come in the future. The two sites that I have sit on 3 beautiful acres in Northern Michigan. The property is centrally located between Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Alanson. Nearby are many lakes, woods, trails, golf courses and ski resorts. .

Campsite #2
The outhouse did not smell and motion detector light. The fire pit had chairs and cup holders. It was very nice!

We had a great time at Grateful acres. It’s a great location to adventure from; so close to Harbor Springs and Petoskey. We stayed on spot 1, which was nice with our RV, since it was flatter and more open that spot #2. Our host, Matt, was super nice. He has a vision for his property and I can’t wait to see what he does with it. There are a few things dotted along the property that is he working on, so the land wasn’t as wide open/empty as we expected. We’ll be back next year!

Grateful for Grateful Acres!
We really enjoyed our stay at Grateful acres! Campsite 2 was a really nice set up and we were close to all the happenings in petoskey and harbor springs. Matt was a wonderful host and we would definitely stay again if back in the area

Tent Camping with Our Dog
Had a nice camping weekend at Matt’s place! Owner is nice and friendly. The site is centrally located to explore Petoskey and Harbor Springs. We went up by Sturgeon Bay to have a beach day with our pup at the Wilderness State Park, which I highly recommend (need a MI recreation pass). The camping site is near the road, so we did hear passing cars, neighborhood dogs barking, some distant music and talking. Nothing disrupted our outdoor stay too badly, I just wouldn’t consider the spot to be super secluded like others I’ve found on hipcamp. Outhouse was clean with a lock and solar powered light. All in all would recommend!

Rustic camping near tourist sites
My wife and I tent camped here two nights. The site was quiet and clean. Off the beaten path but still close to towns of Harbor Springs and Petosky where we spent most of our time. Our host Matt was friendly and welcoming. We would stay here again. Nice rustic camping. There was electric for those who need it. Tom and Carolyn

Campsite #2
Clean site, but noisy.
We stayed at site #2. Overall, we had a good experience. The site was clean, and the outhouse sits at the back of this site, with easy access to electric and water. We also appreciated the light post during our late arrival setup. A few minor complaints: 1) Quiet hours are posted as 11pm -9am, but the host site was pretty noisy way past that time, loud music and yelling past 3am one night. 2) We were under the impression there was a fire ring at our campsite, but it actually is a group fire ring. 3) A couple of awkward situations with people walking through our site to access the outhouse, which does not lock.

Campsite #1
The host was friendly and the site itself was nice. However, the site didn’t have a fire pit and people walked through our campsite to get to the communal pit toilet located at the end of our campsite. Quiet time was supposed to start at 11:00 pm, however, Saturday night, it was loud with music and power tools late into the night. There were lights and electric, but the electrical was arranged on the wrong side for campers since it was a back in spot, and the electric was on the left center of the site. If campers back in, they can’t use their awning because they’d be too close to the trees.

Great star gazing and an even better location 10-15 min from Harbor Springs, Petoskey and the tunnel of trees drive

A peaceful, relaxing spot conveniently located between Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Host was very accomodating. No WiFi even with our hotspot so be prepared. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
